WHY IS THIS SO ACCURATE-

You and Sirius stood in line, waiting for the baristas to take your order. You turned your head to look out the window and into the parking lot; James, Lily, Remus, and Peter were hanging out in a muggle van you'd all rented.

You zoned out for a second, not paying attention when the barista called "Next!"

Sirius tapped your shoulder, nudging you towards the counter.

"You're up, darling." he said as he gave you a soft smirk.

Walking up to the counter, you grabbed a post-it note from your pocket. You first placed an order for yourself, then read from the scrap paper.

".. and could I get a tall black coffee.. and..." you furrowed your brow, trying to make out what the loopy handwriting said.

"Er, sorry.. a venti strawberry acai lemonade with extra strawberries, three pumps of raspberry, two splendas and a splash of passion tango tea? Oh and instead of regular ice could it be crushed?"

You let out a sigh, exasperated, as the barista reluctantly began the order. That was when you heard a snort behind you, and you whipped around to see Sirius attempting to hold in his laugh.

"What?! It's for James!"

You immediately regretted saying that. Sirius eyes bulged and he let out a bark of laughter. Poor James would have to suffer his wrath later.

When Slughorn finally dismissed the class, you were relieved. Potions was your final course of the day, and thank Merlin it was. You shoved your notes and quills into your bag and quickly made your way back to Gryffindor tower, ready to settle down for a nap.

After giving the Fat Lady her password, you entered the cozy atmosphere of your house's common room. The squashed chairs, fuzzy carpets and roaring fireplace gave a comforting feeling. Just as you turned to make your way upstairs, a voice called to you.

"(Y/N), hey!"

You looked over your shoulder to see Lily walking towards you, arms open. You hugged her and smiled.

"I haven't seen you since lunch, I've missed you!" she said, and you could tell she meant it.

"I've missed you too." you replied, and Lily took your hand.

"Come sit down, you look tired."

Before you could object, Lily had taken you to sit on one of the big couches, and you were greeted by Marlene, Alice, Frank and Peter. Truth be told, you had missed your friends, and figured your nap could wait until later.

"Where are the rest of the boys?" you asked, taking some of the candies Marlene had offered you.

"Helping McGonagall clean up her classroom." Peter piped up.

"Apparently Sirius transfigured the light fixtures into sprinkler systems. Blamed it on school budget cuts." Marlene snorted.

"Hmph. Sounds like him." you smiled, relaxing into the cushions. Your friends kept up with the lively conversation, while you felt yourself nodding off. You decided to close your eyes for only a moment, but next thing you knew, somebody was shaking you awake.

"Hey!! (Y/N/N)!! Wakey wakey!"

You sat up and rubbed your eyes, only to open them and find Sirius practically nose to nose with you.

"Oh.. hi Siri.." you yawned, stretching your arms. "I must've fell asleep.. what time is it?"

"9:30."

"What?!" you cried, jumping up from your seat. "Oh no no no, how could you let me sleep for so long?! For Merlin's sake, I've got so much work to do-"

"Woah woah woah," Sirius stopped you, gently taking hold of your shoulders and turning you to face him. "Take a breath, why don't ya?"

You heaved a big sigh, then your stomach growled.

"Oh Sirius, I missed dinner.." you frowned, flopping back onto the couch.

"No bother my darling, I made you a plate." he said, picking a dish up from the table and handing it to you.

"Sirius, you didn't!" you beamed, immediately hugging him. "Good Godric I'm so lucky to have you." you took the plate and utensils from him, digging in.

"Well I'll say, if I knew I'd get this reaction from you, I'd have brought you the whole table!"

After you'd eaten most of the plate, in which Sirius took the time to complain about his new set of detentions, you laid back down, resting your head in his lap.

"Personally, I believe James should've gotten the same amount as me, considering he- oh, you alright (Y/N/N)?”

“Wha?” you mumbled, looking up at him. “Oh yeah, just a little sleepy..”

“What for? You seemed well rested during breakfast.”

“It’s that bloody double-Potions.” you said matter-of-factly, furrowing your brows. “That Slughorn never gives it a rest! I’m exhausted.”

“Ahh I see..” Sirius nodded, then looked as though he was pondering something. “Wanna try something?”

“Sirius, I’m really not in the mood-”

“No no no no,” he chuckled. “Not that type of something. Just lay on your stomach f’me.”

In your tired state, you obliged, laying opposite of the way you just were. Once you’d nestled into a pillow, you felt Sirius’ hands trailing up your back, and resting on your shoulders. 

He pushed his thumbs in circular motions through your tense muscles, and you let out a groan of relief. 

“Oh Siri, that feels so good...” you mumbled.

“I’ve heard that one before.” he chuckled, continuing the massage. 

You soon felt your eyelids getting heavy, and your breathing becoming deep and steady. You felt as though you could melt into the couch. 

“Go ahead and rest lovely, you deserve it.” Sirius said quietly, leaning forward to kiss the crown of your head. 

With that, you closed your eyes, and listened to the crackling of the fireplace. 

“My beautiful, brilliant girl.”

Here you were, once again. Another feisty Order meeting had been wrapped up, ending in a screaming match between Mundungus Fletcher and Molly Weasley.

You decided to take care of the dishes, as Molly probably had enough to deal with. You added the final plate to the drying rack and sat down at the kitchen table, rubbing your temples. Merlin, what a night this had been.

"Alright (L/N)?"

You were startled by the voice, until you looked up and saw who it came from; Remus Lupin. One of your oldest and closest friends. You smiled, feeling comforted by his very presence.

"Could be better. Just a little... well, you know." It was difficult to put into words, but Remus understood. He always understood.

"Oh yes, I know." he chuckled, waltzing over to stand behind you, putting his ginormous hands on your shoulders. He slowly started to move his thumbs, releasing any tension that resided in your upper back.

"Oh Rem, that feels nice..." you sighed, basking in the feeling.

He breathed deeply, seeming to enjoy the moment as much as you did. "And you know what would be even nicer?" he asked, removing his hands.

"What?" you half-whined, missing him already.

Remus leaned back and grabbed a tall glass bottle, filled with dark amber liquid. With his other hand, he took two short glasses, and put them down in front of you.

He uncorked the bottle and half filled the glasses, then sat down in the chair to your left.

"To us." he said.

"To us?"

"Of course, who else would I rather be toasting?"

The two of you clinked glasses, taking sips of whatever Remus had picked out. It tasted similar to fire whiskey, but it was richer and had less of a kick to it. The two of you sat in silence for a while, enjoying each other’s company. Friendly conversation was exchanged as your glasses were filled again... and again... and again. 

“Remus,” you hicked, struggling to sit still. 

“Hmm?” he looked up, an adorably dumb look adorning his features. 

“I’ve *hic!* always liked you, y’know..” you said, barely registering the severity of your confession. “You’re just so... cute.”

Remus straightened up and furrowed his brows, almost as though what you said had sobered him up. 

“Say that again?” 

You rolled your eyes. “I said, I’ve always liked-” 

You paused mid-sentence, your brain finally piecing your words together. Remus was trying to hide his smirk. 

“(Y/N), please tell me it’s not the liquor speaking.. is it?” 

You shook your head aggressively, a bit of panic settling in. That panic resided when Remus spoke. 

“I’ve always liked you too.”

The both of you looked up, Remus smiling, you looking like a deer in headlights. You looked at him, then the glass in your hands, and back at him again. Without missing a beat, you were out of your chair and in his lap, kissing him fiercely. 

Oh, Remus. What a wonderful feeling he brought you. Something you’d been longing for since you were a teenager. All of your worries washed away as his hands snaked around your body, leaving a tingly sensation in their wake. 

Your eyes flew open in surprise as Remus wrapped his hands under your bum, lifting you up. 

“Rem, where are we going?” you giggled, wrapping your hands around his neck. 

“Somewhere a little more private..” he says between kisses. He proceeds to throw you over his shoulder like a potato sack, causing you to stifle a laugh. He carries you up the grand staircase to a guest room. 

He swiftly closed the door behind him, and made way to the bed. He dropped you down on it, about to lean in for another kiss, when you stopped him. Remus looked at you, surprised (and concerned) before you spoke. 

“You gonna lock that?” you said, eyeing the door. 

“Oh right!” he said in realization, quickly striding over and clicking the lock. You smiled at how this composed gentleman could still be awkward given the chance. 

“Alright..” he says, running his hands through his hair. “Where were we?”

You opened your arms for him, and once again he took you in his embrace. He laid you down while you kissed passionately, and his long fingers worked to remove your clothing.

As much as he would deny it, Remus took a visible pause once he’d removed your bra. He sort of just froze, ogling at your breasts. Before you made a remark, he blinked himself back to reality, immediately wrapping his lips around your nipple. 

With one hand, he shimmied your bottoms down, and with the other he played with your free nipple. Your breathing heightened from the stimulation, and you could feel his smirk. You could also feel the ever-growing bulge in his trousers as it brushed past your knee. 

For a fleeting moment, Remus’ mouth left your breast and he towered over you, giving a soft smile. You quirked and eyebrow, and then he spoke. 

“You’re so beautiful.” is all he said, causing a blush to take over your cheeks. 

He then tore off his own clothing, leaving him in his boxers, and he practically leaped back onto you. It was amusing, seeing Remus so giddy about something. It made you feel as though you were teenagers again. 

The two of you moved higher up the bed, your head resting on a pillow and his between your legs. 

“May I?” he inquired, sort of thinking out loud. You nodded, trembling with excitement. He didn’t need to be told twice. Remus slowly began kissing your clit, rubbing his hands up and down your thighs. The way he moved his tongue was incredible, causing you to let out sighs of pleasure. You peeked down, noticing Remus’ current expression. His eyes were closed; he was soaking up every moment. He had never tasted anything sweeter. 

Without warning, he slid a finger inside you. The both of you were surprised by just how easily it slipped in. He’d already made you a dripping mess. He arched his finger, dragging it along your g-spot and you let out a sinful sound, to which he smirked. 

Before you could even draw in a breath he’d inserted another finger, pumping them with such purpose you thought you might burst. Remus’ fingers were large, and he certainly knew how to put them to use. Before you knew it, that familiar coil in your belly unraveled, releasing high pitched moans along the way. 

As Remus detached himself from you, he spoke again. 

“With those high notes I’m surprised you’re not part of an orchestra.”

You laughed. “I think you’re spending too much time with Sirius, that sounds exactly like something he would say.”

Remus looked at you lovingly before removing his boxers, and your mouth went dry. If you’d thought his fingers were large, then you were sorely mistaken. 

“Sweet Merlin, Remus!” you said before you could stop yourself, your jaw dropping. 

“Well, I do hope you’re pleasantly surprised..” he said, his smile growing. He was lazily stroking his cock while your eyes trained over him. 

“I just can’t wrap my head around the fact I’ve been sitting in the same room as that all these years!” you said, internally cringing at yourself. But Remus didn’t seem to mind the comments. 

“Silly girl,” he said, crawling up the bed. “You could’ve said the word and I’d have been all yours.”

Once fully sheathed, the two of you were still, letting yourselves adjust. It took a bit longer than you’d expected, considering just how above average Remus was.

He gave you a peck on the cheek before slowly bucking his hips. It was a romantic, beautiful process and never in your life had you felt more alive. The two of you, who had cared about each other for decades, finally expressed your love in more than a kind gesture. 

He gradually picked up the pace, and all your pain melted away. This was the most pleasurable thing you’d ever experienced. His breathing became harsher; Remus was absolutely thrilled. He was basking in this moment, relishing in the fact that this is actually happening. He kissed down the valley of your breasts.

Hurtful Words ~ Sirius Black x Reader

Summary: Sirius has passed, and Snape decides to make a few comments during the next Order meeting - in front of his wife. 

Warnings: Mild violence, Snape fans do not read!! I sort of portrayed him as malicious in this one.

It had been a month since his passing. Only a month, but it still hurt like hell. If anything, you felt cheated. What did you do to deserve this? How could so many bad things happen to a person like you?

The worst part of it all was Harry, your godson. He was miserable. Certainly not as torn apart as you, no, but he didn’t have to pretend to be okay. You were forced to put on a brave face whenever he was around. 

Order meetings seemed less lively nowadays. Sirius wasn’t saying jokes that only you could hear, tickling you when you least expected it, or playing with your hands when he got bored. His seat at the head of the table was empty and cold. You and Remus couldn’t even look at the chair without choking up. 

You often relied on Remus for emotional support. Best friend to you and Sirius - the two of you were the only ones left. You had a certain trust between you, where you could speak about anything without feeling judged or guilty. 

The fourth Order meeting since Sirius died. As they say, the show must go on. You sat in your usual spot, Remus pulling up a chair to your left. He must’ve been missing Sirius; he was trying to sit as close to the old chair as possible. 

The members of the Order meeting were as follows: Arthur, Molly and Bill Weasley, Dumbledore, Mad-Eye, Kingsley Shacklebolt, Tonks and regrettably, Snape. Usually he only stayed for the meetings, and not the dinner afterwards, so he’d be leaving soon enough. 

Snape sat directly across from you and Remus, which you found strange. Typically he was at the very front, kissing up to Dumbledore. Perhaps it was a threat? No, no, he’s just having a seat. Regardless, you were still bothered. Snape was just as rotten as he had been back in school. 

The meeting began. Moody started off with his rambling, pointing with his wand at a diagram he’d sketched up. It was quite confusing, but then again, all his diagrams were. It wasn’t until Sirius was mentioned that you started to pay attention. 

“And let’s hope that we’ve learned from..” Moody looked up at you and Remus, “..past mistakes.”

“What do you mean by that, Mad Eye?” Bill queries, finding Moody’s choice of words to be disrespectful. If you’d felt like it, you would’ve smiled. Bill was a lovely young gentleman. 

Before Alastor could form his next sentence, he was cut off by Snape’s annoying, drawling voice. 

“He means that (L/N)’s insufferable husband was an idiot for disobeying orders and leaving his confinement.”

There was a silence. You could feel all eyes turn towards you. Your jaw dropped. Remus put his hand on your arm in an attempt to comfort you, but you could barely feel it. Your eyes bore holes into Snape. 

“What did you say?” you asked breathily, barely over a whisper. 

He turned towards you, glaring as hard as ever. “Care to elaborate?”

“How dare you speak of Sirius in such a way?” you choked, stumbling over your late husband’s name. 

Snape stood up from his chair, leaning forward and placing his hands on the table. 

“I only meant that if your husband hadn’t been such an arrogant dunce, maybe he’d still be sitting at the head of this table, cracking his stupid, immature jokes that none of us find funny!”

“Severus, you’re out of line-” Bill stood up further down the table.

“Am I, Mr. Weasley? Sirius Black did nothing but mope around this godforsaken place, while we were out risking our lives for his very own godson. Not once did he benefit the Order!”

“Sirius Black was confined to this house under Dumbledore’s orders, Severus. You must understand that he didn’t have a choice in that decision.” Kingsley spoke up, calm as ever. 

“Right as you are Mr. Shacklebolt, there was no reason Black lived as indecently as he did. The least he could’ve done was clean up around here..” Snape trailed off. 

The room was me with silence again. You and Remus were left in the same stunned position, not daring to move, not trusting yourselves enough to speak. 

“I believe that wraps up tonight’s meeting.” Dumbledore spoke, and people began to slowly rise from their chairs. In the distance, you could hear the children coming downstairs for dinner. 

Remus took your hand and gently guided you up. But before anybody could leave the room, Snape had his last word. 

“Perhaps next time, we could focus on more important topics, rather than mourning over that imbecile you called your husband.”

And that was what did it. You dropped Remus’ hand and leapt from your seat, throwing yourself across the table and into Snape. The two of you toppled over with such force that it burst open the door behind him, leading out into a hallway full of stunned teenagers. Everyone stopped in their tracks to watch the scene unfold. 

As Snape blinked himself back to reality you grabbed him by the collar and brought his face mere centimeters from yours. You screamed absolute nonsense, such babble that you couldn’t even form your own thoughts. All you knew is that you were angry, and a force to be reckoned with. 

Under your weight, Snape was pinned to the floor and unable to defend himself. Still you screamed, cursing him for his own words and how he had treated your friends over the years. You scolded him about Sirius, his jealousy towards James, the things he’d done to Lily, and worst of all his unnecessary hatred towards Harry. 

“IF YOU HAD REALLY LOVED LILY, YOU WOULD HAVE BEEN THERE FOR HARRY! YOU WOULD HAVE BEEN THERE FOR HER SON!” 

Everyone was silent, and even Snape wore a look that you couldn’t recognize. You panted and heaved, refusing to let tears escape you. 

You carefully studied his face; it looked like a mixture of hatred, guilt and regret. 

Feeling like you’d said enough, you forcefully pushed off of Snape and carefully removed yourself from the scene. You strode back into the kitchen, and in the distance you could hear Dumbledore lending Snape a hand. 

Remus followed you inside, shutting the door. It was only when you turned around and saw him that you broke down. You fell into his arms, sobbing. In turn, Remus clung onto you, trying his very best to comfort you. It was challenging, as he was also on the verge of collapse. 

After some time, you heard the door creak open, and wiped your eyes furiously. You peeked around Remus’ frame to see Harry slip into the room, closing the door behind him. 

“Harry..” you croaked, and he turned to face you. Just like Snape had, he wore and undecipherable expression. 

“Harry, I’m so sorry darling. I don’t know what took over me-”

And just like that, you were once again engulfed in a hug. This time, it was Harry wrapping his arms around you. 

“(Y/N), I thought that was bloody brilliant!” he exclaimed, pulling back from the hug. 

“Sorry, what?” you blinked. 

“Sure, I was a bit shocked at first but Ron and I agreed that he had it coming. We all thought you were great! Although, I’m a bit disappointed you didn’t lay into him more.. coulda thrown a couple punches?”

All you could do was laugh, and hug your godson again. Oh, how lucky you were to have him.

Summary: Dying in Remus Lupin’s arms in the Battle of Hogwarts.

(A/N): I tried not to specify (Y/N)’s relationship with Remus, whether it be platonic or romantic. There is mentions of “I love you” and other tender words, but those can mean whatever you interpret them to be! Requests are always open <3

May 2nd, 1998

The Battle of Hogwarts. What a nightmare. 

You knew it was your last day alive. The moment you saw Voldemort’s army climbing over the hillside you realized how close you were to death. But that wouldn’t stop you from fighting. 

Hogwarts was your school, and once upon a time it had provided you a home. A home that gave you friends; friends that had all been slain by the hands of the Dark Lord. 

“Piertotum Locomotor”

The words boomed across the courtyard. You turned your head, only to see Professor McGonagall, arms raised, head held high. You had always admired her; she was so good to all of her students. A brief image flashed in your mind;

September, 1977

“Mr Potter, might I have your attention?”

James looked up at McGonagall. 

“Why Minnie, you always have my full attention!”

“With the way you’ve been staring at Miss Evans for the past thirty minutes, I beg to differ.”

You gave a weak smile as the memory came to a close. Then a hand wrapped around your shoulder. You turned to see Remus, panting and clearly stressed. You tried to memorize all of his beautiful scars, because who knew, tonight might be the last time you saw them. 

“(Y/N), we need to go.”

“Yes of course. Where are we stationed?”

“The two of us belong to the grand staircase. But I pulled a few strings.. we have time for a pit stop.”

Remus moved his hand to fit into yours, and guided you through the main entrance. In your peripheral vision, you saw McGonagall’s gaze linger on you both. 

“What kind of ‘pit stop” Rem?” you questioned as you were tugged along.

“One that I think you’ll enjoy.” 

Usually, when saying something like that, Remus would crack a smile or carry a teasing tone. But his expression was blank. You wondered if you’d ever see him smile again. 

As the two of you clambered the moving staircases, you took the time to look out the castle’s windows. Hundreds of wizards stood at their posts, murmuring protection spells and shooting them into the sky. You passed by Arthur Weasley as he sobbed into his handkerchief. 

 At almost a running pace, the two of you reached the Fat Lady’s portrait. 

“Remus, this is Gryffindor tower!” you exclaimed as he practically spat the password. 

“I know.” he said, as he towed you inside. 

The warmth of the still lit fireplace hit you instantly, giving you a brief sense of comfort. It had been over twenty years since you’d been here, and not a thing had changed.

December, 1975

“Pay up, Black!” Peter said gleefully, just having won a game of Wizard’s Chess.

“Not on your life, you cheated!”

“Oh, don’t be a sore loser Pads, just give the man his galleons.” Remus said from his seat next to the fireplace, his nose buried in a book. 

“I refuse. It’s not fair!”

“Not fair? What a comeback, Sirius.” 

“Oh, piss off (Y/N)!”

Remus finally let go of your hand. 

“I wanted to go visit my dorm, y’know.. one last time. I figured..” he paused, trying to suppress the lump in his throat. “I figured you’d like to do the same.”

“Yes Remus, take all the time you need.”

“Same to you. I’ll try to be quick.. just.. meet me here, in the common room, whenever you’re ready.”

You nodded. Immediately, he turned on his heel, and up the staircase to the boys dormitories. You did the same, making your way to your old bedroom. You had to refrain yourself from racing up the stairs, but by the time you reached the hallway, you couldn’t take it anymore. 

You swung open the door, taking in the sight before you. You blinked a few times; it took a moment to realize that other students now inhabited this dorm. You were careful not to disturb their things as you walked around. 

Five beds still lined the walls, and you wondered if they used the same frames. You wandered to the left, and your theory was confirmed. 

“M.M” was scrawled in jagged handwriting on a bedpost. It was Marlene McKinnon’s old bed.

June, 1978

“Marlene, that’s vandalism!” Lily cried, suddenly noticing what her dormmate was up to. 

Marlene wiped the shavings off of her first M before she replied.

“Oh please, Lils. We’re graduating tomorrow! What’re they gonna do, expel me?”

You gave a bark of laughter as you packed away your laundry. 

“Y’know Lily, she’s got a point.”

You memory was interrupted by a shaking sensation. It felt as though an earthquake formed beneath the castle. And then you looked through the tiny window, only to discover that the barrier surrounding Hogwarts had been broken. Pieces of ash were falling from the sky. 

You heard your name being called from afar. It was Remus, screaming desperately for you. 

“Remus, I’m up here!” you yelled, and ran as fast as you could back to the common room. Once he saw you, Remus wrapped his arms around you. For a fleeting moment, all you could feel was him. At least, until he broke away. 

“Oh (Y/N/N), you had me frightened. C’mon, we’ve got to go. The Astronomy Tower has already been struck.”

The two of you raced out of the portrait hole, practically sliding down the series of moving staircases. Students began crowding the hallways, some screaming, some crying, others barking orders at each other. Remus was constantly looking back to make sure you were still with him. 

You had finally made it to the grand staircase; an absolute hellhole of chaos. Among the swarm of children was Harry Potter, out of breath, but making time to speak with you and Remus. 

“Harry, darling, what’s going on?” you said, clinging onto him. He looked as though he would pass out at any second. 

“They’ve... broken.. the barrier.” he gasped, trying to form a proper sentence. “Voldemort’s Army.. has infiltrated the gates..”

Remus patted the boy’s shoulder. 

“We’ll hold them off, don’t you worry. Now go do what must be done.”

Harry nodded, and gave you a hopeful expression. Oh, how he looked like his father. 

“And Harry?” Remus spoke up. 

“Yes?”

“We believe in you.” he paused, taking a moment to consider his next words. “Your parents.. they would be proud.”

Harry gave a half-smile, but it was easy to tell just how much those words meant to him. He ran through the crowd, making his way up to Merlin knows where. 

You turned your attention back to Remus. At this point, the initial panic had died down. Unfortunately, you weren’t granted another moment’s peace. Screams and battle cries filled the castle; agony ridden voices pleading for mercy. Merely twenty feet away from you, a young boy was severed in half, his body toppling over the railing. You looked away before he hit the stone floor. 

Remus grabbed your shoulders and threw you to the side, causing you to land with a harsh smack. You rubbed your eyes and looked up to see him fending off a Death Eater, who was blown away with the clever use of a Ventus charm. 

“Brilliant Remus!” you exclaimed, dragging yourself to your feet. He had always been the brightest boy you’d known.

March, 1974

“And Miss (L/N), you’ll be paired with Mister Lupin.” said Professor Slughorn, your Potions professor. 

You beamed. You looked over your shoulder to the back of the room, where the Marauders crammed together at their table. Remus gave you a polite thumbs up. 

Some would say the two of you were friends; you’d been partnered with him for many assignments before, and you always said hello to each other in the hallways. The two of you had studied together a few times, and even sat and talked during a trip to Hogsmeade!

Nevertheless, you were excited to make today’s potion with Remus. He was so clever.

“(Y/N), it’s not safe here. I’m sorry I’ve put you in this position. I had no control over the stations, I was simply abiding my orders-”

“Remus, listen to me.” you gripped his forearms, and made sure to hold his attention. “You’re not at fault here. None of us are. All we can focus on is survival.” You internally cringed, your certainty of death creeping up on you again. 

He looked as though he was going to say something, but was caught off guard by more commotion. The two of you whipped out your wands, and began dueling with flimsy and untalented Death Eaters. It was clear that they were newly recruited, or hadn’t practiced magic in a very long time. 

And it was then that you saw him. You couldn’t tell who it was, but a young wizard in black robes had just turned a corner into the main stairwell. He crept through the shadows, getting closer and closer to where you stood. He reached into his pocket, but instead of pulling out a wand, he pulled out a star like contraption, dripping with a sickly green liquid. 

Your eyes widened as you watched the events unfold. The world went into slow motion. The young Death Eater threw his ninja-star-esque blades in your direction - no, Remus’ direction. Remus was preoccupied with another witch, and far too distracted to notice the weapons hurling towards him. 

Within an instant, without even pausing to think, you threw yourself in front of Remus. You gasped as pain shot through you; the three blades had lodged themselves into your torso. Remus whipped around, catching your limp body. His eyes locked onto the perpetrator, and Remus summoned the most powerful Expelliarmus he could muster. The wizard flew through a series of brick walls. 

Remus sank to his knees, laying your barely conscious corpse over his lap. Blood was already pooling around you; thick, murky poison was rushing through your veins. 

Remus clutched your face, his own tears spilling over his waterline. Your vision became a toss up between blurry and focused, but your pain was slowly ebbing away. 

“It hurts, Rem.” you mustered. 

“I know.” he spluttered, trying not to choke on his sobs. “Just hold on a little longer, okay? We’ll... we’ll get someone to fix you up soon.” his eyes searched desperately for any sign of help, but it was as if the stairwell had been deserted. The only sound was your shallow breathing, and distant explosions outside. 

“Remus,” you coughed, “am I dying?”

He paused, not knowing what to say.

“Be honest, Rem.”

“Yes, you are.” his voice broke at the very end; he was in utter disbelief. 

A comforting numbness began to overtake your limbs. The two of you sat in silence for a moment. 

“I can’t feel my legs, Rem.”

“(Y/N), why do you keep saying my name?”

“Because Remus, I might never say it again!” you said, in an attempt to yell, but it came out as a hoarse cry. You winced as a wee bit of pain shot through your stomach. 

“Shhh (Y/N/N), I’m sorry. Say it as much as you’d like.” he caressed your face with his thumbs. A sweet silence fell over you again, neither of you really knowing what to say. 

“Please don’t let go of me. Please Remus.” you begged him, lifting your shaky hand for him to hold. “Don’t let me go, I don’t wanna die alone.” you blubbered, tears slowly rolling off your face. 

“I won’t, I promise. I’ll never let go of you.” he replied, clutching your hand even tighter. 

“Please, please, please..” you mumbled, repeating your words as though they were your only prayer. 

Remus leaned down and pressed his forehead to yours, placing a kiss on the bridge of your nose. The numbness was trickling throughout your arms, but you refused to stop feeling Remus’ hand. 

“I love you, Remus.” you croaked, loud enough that only he could hear. Your throat felt as if it had been tied into a million knots, but you forced yourself to suppress the agony. 

“I love you, (Y/N).” he whispered, his breath fanning your cheek. You could feel his tears sliding from his face onto your own. 

“Look at me Remus, look at me.”

He sat up, his beautiful face surrounded by fuzzy candlelight. His brown eyes welled with tears; tears caused by you. His scars sat like perfectly drawn constellations between the faded freckles that littered his cheeks. If only he could see himself through your eyes, he’d understand just how incredible he was. 

“I’m getting tired now, Rem.” you said, as pain vacated your body, only to be replaced by a sense of everlasting calm. 

“That’s alright, (Y/N). You can close your eyes. Have a rest. I’ll be here when you wake up.” He gave you the best smile he could muster. 

The last thing you saw was Remus Lupin, the man you trusted with your heart and soul. That soul of yours had finally slipped away, and there you passed, in his arms.

September 1st, 1971

“Gryffindor!” the Sorting Hat shouted, and your new housemates burst into applause. You hopped off the stool and carefully made your way to the dining table, sitting with your fellow first years. 

You sat across from Lily, the redhead girl you’d met on the train. She sat between two boys, one with glasses and the other with dark locks. To your right, sat a boy with sandy brown hair and an array of scars on his face. He looked a wee bit nervous.

“Hi!” you spoke up. “I’m (Y/N)!”

He looked at you a bit apprehensively, then smiled.

“Hi, I’m Remus.”

“Rem, I-” you croaked. He wouldn’t even look at you. “I’m so sorry, I don’t-”

McGonagall cleared her throat bitterly behind you, cutting you off. You whispered another, barely audible “I’m sorry”, before following the Professor into her office.

You sat in the first chair you saw; one of the two placed in front of McGonagall’s desk. Her boots clicked agonizingly slow across the hardwood floor, until she stopped before her own chair, and sat down.

She cleared her throat before speaking. 

“What in the name of Merlin was that.” 

“Professor, I’ve no idea, really I-”

“In all my years, not once have I been so embarrassed, so ashamed to call a student one of my own. You are a Gryffindor, for Godric’s sake! What is the matter with you?!” her bony frame tensed with ever word she spoke. 

“I... I...” you spluttered, not being able to form a proper response. For heaven’s sake, you couldn’t even comprehend what had happened out there. 

“Are you proud of your actions? Do you really think that was a mature, rational decision?” McGonagall spat. You could feel her eyes burning holes right through you. 

You paused for a moment, considering how to answer. You lifted your head and made eye contact with the fuming Professor in front of you. 

“Yes. Yes I am.”

To say McGonagall was appalled was an understatement. Her jaw practically hit the floor, and she needed a moment to compose herself. 

“We will see how Professor Dumbledore feels about this.” 

She stood up, swooshing past your chair and swinging the door open with such force that you were surprised it didn’t come off the hinges. 

You slowly made your way through the door frame, finding one of the four Marauders waiting for you.

“Mr Potter, haven’t you a class to attend?”

“Well, yes, but-”

“Then attend it.”

James gave you a small smile, then made his way down the East Corridor. You followed McGonagall in the other direction, struggling to keep up with her pace. You could call it a light jog, the way she was zooming across the floor. 

You reached Dumbledore’s office, after McGonagall whispered the strange password to a grand eagle statue. You climbed the revolving staircase hesitantly. 

The door was opened before you could knock, and you turned your head to see Dumbledore, peacefully sitting at his desk. Your female professor ushered you inside.

“Miss (L/N), thank you for stopping by.”

You looked up, making eye contact with Dumbledore. He didn’t seem very upset.

“Please, have a seat.” he gestured to the chair in front of his desk. 

You slowly walked up the half ledge, sitting down and fiddling with your uniform. 

“Would you care to explain to me the events that unfolded today?”

“She attacked another student-”

“Now, now Minerva,” Dumbledore cut her off, “let’s hear (Y/N)’s side of the story.” He smiled and gave you a small nod, urging you to speak. 

You cleared your throat. 

“Well, uh.. Merlin, I-” you tried your best to form a sentence, but no words were coming out. You brushed the hair out of your face and tried again. 

“Last night, Remus Lupin was attacked by Michael Bershire and his party. There was no good reason to hurt him; Remus would never pick a fight. It was at least 5 or 6 of ‘em, no less than that.

He came back to the common room all bloodied up, and myself and all our friends to drop the whole situation. He likes to handle things himself, Remus is very independent in that sense.” 

You could tell McGonagall was trying to hide the slight smile at your last phrase. 

“Anyways, I didn’t appreciate the fact that nobody was doing anything about it. Not even the boys! So, I... took matters into my own hands.” you finished, sort of lamely.

“Did you wake up this morning with the intention of harming Mr. Bershire?” Dumbledore asked calmly.

“No, not at all! It’s like something came over me. In fact, I didn’t even remember it had happened until I saw Remus at breakfast! You can ask my dormmates, they’ll assure you of that.”

Dumbledore curtly nodded, McGonagall stood behind him, straight as a stick. 

“Would you describe the ordeal in itself, from your point of view?”

“Oh, uh.. sure. Well, I was walking down the hallway-”

“With who?”

“From left to right was Mary MacDonald, Marlene McKinnon, Peter Pettigrew, Sirius Black, James Potter, myself and Remus Lupin.”

“Mhmm. Carry on.”

“It was then that only mere feet away I noticed Michael Bershire. I saw red. I asked James to hold my bag and suddenly I pounced, I couldn’t even control myself. We were rolling around on the floor and everything!” you were sort of amused reliving the tale. 

“And don’t forget to mention how you were bashing Bershire’s head into the floor!” McGonagall spat. 

“Oh yeah, that too.” you said nonchalantly. “I took him by the throat, starting banging his head on the ground and the boys dragged me off him.”

“And those boys would be?”

“Pettigrew, Potter, Black and Lupin.”

“After reflecting on your quarrel, how do you feel?”

Now that was a tough question to answer. You were quite unsure how you felt. It was a mixture of pride, embarrassment hatred and satisfaction. But above all, you felt ashamed, as your mind trickled back to poor Remus. He wouldn’t even look at you. 

“I uh.. I don’t know.”

“Well you said you were proud of your actions back in my office, why the sudden change of heart?” McGonagall quipped. You were getting tired of hearing her voice. 

“I’m proud of what I did to Bershire, but not Remus.”

“What do you mean, (L/N)?”

“I hurt him by doing exactly what he told me not to do. In a sense, I betrayed his trust.” You took in a shaky breath, “Professor, he won’t even look at me!”

There was a period of silence, where you could tell both of your Professors were considering their next words very carefully. 

“You’re free to go.”

Your eyes shot up to meet Dumbledore’s. 

“Excuse me?” you spluttered. McGonagall looked equally as shocked as you were. 

“You’re free to go.” Dumbledore repeated, giving a poorly hidden smirk. “It is necessary you make amends with Mr. Lupin before moving onto Mr. Bershire.” 

You couldn’t contain the joy that took over you. A smile made its way onto your face, beaming from ear to ear. 

“Thank you sir, oh thank you!” Before you knew it, you were standing up and reaching out to shake Professor Dumbledore’s hand. You practically skipped to the door, about to open it, when-

“Not so fast, Miss (L/N).”

Ah right, you knew there would be a catch. 

“Don’t think you’re getting off so easy. Two weeks detention, we’ll have your tasks arranged by tomorrow.” 

“Two weeks?! Professor, (Y/N) attacked another student. That seems hardly enough-”

“Two months if the relationship with Lupin cannot be mended.”

You nodded your head fervently, and with a wave from Dumbledore, and a glare from McGonagall, you slipped out the door and down the hallway.

After wrapping up your daily classes, you bounded down the corridor and into the Gryffindor common room. Almost tripping over the portrait hole, you caught yourself on a banister. 

“Someone’s in a hurry.”

You looked up to find the source of the voice. 

“Sirius! Oh, Sirius you won’t believe it!” you practically jumped on the boy, wrapping your arms around him. 

“Well I’ll say, I’m happy to see you too darling-”

“Oh hush, not now. Where’s Remus?”

“He’s been sulking in the dorm since lunchtime. What-”

“Great, thanks!”

Before Sirius could even ask about what had happened, you were already halfway up the boys stairs. Your nerves only kicked in as you approached the door. A million thought swarmed your head.

He doesn’t wanna see you. Look what you did to him. He probably hates you. His reputation is ruined. You’re a terrible friend. Leave him alone. You’re foolish for thinking-

Your internal rant was interrupted by the door swinging open. 

“Oh, uh.. what do you want?” Remus asked; he looked a bit startled by you. 

“To apologize.” you said, weakly. 

He stared you down for a moment. His gaze was very intimidating. He took a step back and opened his door, a silent gesture for you to come in. You slipped past him and stood awkwardly next to his bed, while he sat down.

“Well, go on.” Remus looked at you expectantly. You gulped. He usually wasn’t so forward, and you felt so small compared to him. You knew you were at fault, and you felt terrible... yet you couldn’t figure out what to say. 

“(Y/N), listen, if you don’t have anything to say-”

“No really, I do! Just uhh.. gimme a sec..”

He raised an eyebrow, unimpressed. You heaved a great sigh. 

“Rem, the truth is I don’t even know where to begin. It’s like I couldn’t control myself. I saw Bershire, and all the rage and frustration I’d been bottling up since last night overtook me. Quite honestly, I’m not even sure how I got from one side of the hallway to on top of him! It all happened so fast-”

“I don’t need a play-by-play, (Y/N).”

“Oh, right.. you saw it.”

“Damn right I did.”

“Remus, I’m sorry. That’s all I can say-”

“All you can say?” he cut you off, “That’s all you have to say for yourself?”

“What else do you want from me?!” you raised your voice, trying to mask the hurt you felt with anger. “I attacked Bershire because I care so much about you! Remus, you have no idea how much I adore you! I absolutely love you Rem - do you think for an instant that I wasn’t going to get him back for hurting you?!”

The room was still and quiet, the only sound being your heavy breathing. Until Remus collected his thoughts. 

“I hate to admit it... but you were quite impressive. In fact, I was a wee bit proud.”

You smiled, your eyes brimming with tears. “Really?”

“Really.” Remus stood up and opened his arms to you, and you flung yourself towards him. It felt wonderful to be in his embrace once more. 

“And (Y/N)?”

“Hmm?”

“Thank you for caring so much. I’d do the very same for you.”

Summary: Somebody decides to mess with Moony. 

(A/N): This can be interpreted as a platonic or romantic relationship between Remus and the reader, it hasn’t been specified! Also, as far as I know, I have created the names and characters of Michael Bershire and his crowd.

It was a typical Sunday night for Remus Lupin. As per usual, he had picked up prefect duties for this evening, and wandered throughout the corridors of the castle. 

Midnight was fast approaching, and Remus paused for a moment. Due to him being a werewolf, his senses were amplified, meaning that one of his abilities was superb hearing. 

Lupin cocked his head towards the dungeon staircase, where he heard a bit of commotion. He didn’t even have a moment to approach the noise before the cause was revealed. 

Michael Bershire and his Slytherin gang. 

Remus forced himself not to roll his eyes. Of course, they just had to be out while he was on prefect rounds. 

It seemed that the five lads didn’t notice Remus until he cleared his throat. They quickly snapped their heads in his direction.

“Lupin, ol’ chap! What’re you doing out so late? Haven’t you got a book to read?” Michael Bershire held his head up high, an annoyingly perfect grin plastered on his face. His gelled auburn hair reflected so strongly the candlelight in the halls. 

Remus had to refrain from rolling his eyes as Bershire took a few steps forward. “Gentlemen, it’s approaching midnight. I’ll have to ask you to return to your dormitories.”

“Oh and that we will do! It’s just, we’re a bit preoccupied at the moment. Isn’t that right, lads?” Bershire looked back at his companions, who nodded fervently. 

Remus was taller than Bershire, but because of his horrible posture, they seemed to be on the same level. He bit back a grimace when Bershire’s painfully minty breath stung his eyes. 

“Now if you’ll excuse us, we have business to attend to.” Bershire dramatically turned, his house robes swishing behind him. 

“Well then,” Remus says, “I’m afraid I’ll have to report you to your head of house, and I don’t believe you’d want that to happen. So if you don’t mind-”

And just as dramatically, the Slytherin boy whipped around again. 

“What was that, Scarface?” 

Before Remus could even form words, Bershire was stalking towards him. 

“How dare you speak to me in such an authoritative tone? After all, you’re... well you’ve got mud in your veins!” 

“And blood on his face.” one of the boys behind him added. Remus recognized him to be Adam Percival, the greasiest boy he knew. 

“You’re right Perce, he does have blood on his face. What, was ol’ Minnie upset you didn’t grade her papers for her? Or was it-”

“Shut it, Bershire.” Remus tried his best to compose himself, but couldn’t seem to look away from his shuffling feet. The full moon was only a few days ago, and he’d been left with a couple scrapes around his jaw and cheeks. 

Michael Bershire was baffled. That is, until he came up with another one of his clever ideas. 

“Boys, I’d say we teach Lupin a little lesson. After all, he should know - given his crowd - that snitches are frowned upon.” The 5 Slytherins slowly stalked towards Remus. “And you know what they say-”

“Snitches get stitches.” 

It was then that Remus was swiftly grabbed by two of the boys, and his arms were held behind him as Bershire swung at his stomach. Once they’d decided he’d had enough, Remus’ arms were dropped and his knees buckled under their forceful kicks. 

They pushed him onto the ground where they continued to harm him; kicking and hitting with all their might. It seemed like ages before they let up. 

Slowly, they backed away, but not before Michael could kneel before Remus’ shaking form. 

“Remember what I said, Lupin.”

And with that, he stood up and hurried away, while Remus was left alone in the dark corridor.

Sirius’ head perked up as Remus entered the common room portrait hole. 

“Moony you’re back! Merlin we thought you got lost-”

“Where ya been, mate?” James cut him off. “We had to play three extra rounds of exploding snap waitin’ for you!”

Peter sat up from his position in front of the fireplace. “Alright Moony? You seem kinda quiet-”

“Good Godric Remus, you look awful!” Sirius shouted when Lupin faced them. 

“Yeah, and I feel just as great.” he said, taking a seat on the worn out couch. 

James came to sit on the armrest beside him. “What happened Moons?”

After Remus came to explain the series of events, the rest of the Marauders were fuming. 

“Oh I’ll kill him. I’ll kill him!” Sirius shouted as he kicked over a coffee table.

“Sirius please, not now!” Remus groaned, covering his ears. “All I want right now, is to go to my room, and get a good night’s rest. Alright? I’ll deal with this bullshit in the morning.” 

“Here, we’ll help you up.” James offered his arm, to which Remus took politely. Just as they were lifting the lycanthrope off the couch, they heard giggles coming from the staircase leading to the girls dormitories. 

“Who’s there?” Peter whisper shouted, receiving a “You bloody idiot!” and a slap from Sirius. 

“It’s just us!” Marlene whisper shouted back, as she, followed by you and Lily, entered the common room. 

“What the hell are you doing up?”

“Nice to see you too, Black.” Marlene raised an eyebrow. 

“If you really wanted to know, we were hungry, and figured the house elves might have some snacks for us. What’s your excuse?” Lily said, crossing her arms over her pajama top. 

“Remus just got back from prefect duties, figured we would-”

“Sweet Merlin Remus, what happened to you?” you suddenly exclaimed, making Peter jump. 

You rushed over to him, taking hold of his face, forcing him to look at you. 

“It’s nothing (Y/N), really. My transformation was a little rough, that’s all-”

“Remus, your transformation was three days ago. What the bloody hell is all this?!”

“Bershire beat him up.” James confessed. 

Remus turned to face Potter, shooting imaginary daggers at him. 

“She was bound to find out anyway! Besides, look what he’s bloody done!”

“Michael Bershire did this to you? That bastard-” 

Remus gently removed your hands from his face. “Listen, I appreciate your concern, but I really don’t want to deal with this right now. Can somebody please just help me to my room?” 

The boys swooped in and half carried Remus to their dormitories, while you and your girls quietly said goodnight. 

“Can you fucking believe that?!”

“Marlene, hush.”

“That fucking twat. Oh, I can’t wait to see what the boys have in store for him. I bet-”

“Marlene, please! Remus said he didn’t want to deal with this right now, so we’re dropping the subject. I say we go back to our rooms and get some rest.”

“But I’m hungry!”

“Swallow your spit. Now c’mon.” Lily ushered Marlene back up the stairs, before turning back and taking your hand. 

“You alright, (Y/N/N)?” she gave you a knowing look. 

“I’m with Marlene. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for him.”

Lily was the earliest riser in your dorm. That being said, she took it upon herself to wake the rest of you up in the morning. You’d had a half decent sleep, and as you rubbed your eyes awake, you heard the playful banter of Marlene and Alice.

“Marls, get a move on!! You know what we said about those Hollywood showers!”

“It’s Americano, Ally!”

“I don’t give a damn what it is! Get out!”

You and Lily were ready before the rest of the girls, so you walked arm in arm down to the Great Hall. It wasn’t until the Marauders sat at your table you recalled everything that happened last night. 

“Alright (Y/N/N)? That vein in your forehead looks like its’ bout to burst.” Sirius said while grabbing a stack of pancakes. 

“Do you have an bloody clue what you’re going to do about this?! Remus, you can’t let Bershire off this easy.” you turned your head towards your favorite (and slightly bruised) lycanthrope. 

“I swear, I’m fine. And besides, the boys will work up something eventually.”

“Yea, eventually.” James exclaimed through forkfuls of food. “Moony made us promise to not even look at Bershire for a week!”

“A week?!”

James nodded enthusiastically, cheeks stuffed like a chipmunk. 

“Since when do you defend bullies, Remus?!” you practically yelled, clenching the cutlery you were holding. 

“It’s not that (Y/N), it’s just-”

“It’s because he’s afraid of him.” Peter blurted out, making everyone’s heads turn. His hands shot over his mouth in realization. 

“Why is it the only time you open your mouth it’s to say something stupid?” Sirius said, hanging onto a glare. 

“You’re afraid of Michael Bershire?! Remus that’s not healthy! That’s- that’s horrible! Sweet Merlin Rem, I’ll show him what to be afraid of-” Remus cut you off.

“I’ve told you already, please don’t make me repeat myself again.” Remus placed his hand over yours. “The boys will handle this eventually. If you really love me, stay out of it.”

You settled down then, but still scanned the Hall for any signs of Remus’ attacker. The rest of breakfast carried on as usual, the rest of your friends joining you for the meal. 

Sirius walked you and Mary to class, giving you each a courteous bow. 

“Shall I pick you up after your lesson, my fair ladies?” he said in a deep bow, with a rigid posh accent. “The gentlemen and I were planning on.. err.. skipping our courses.” 

You giggled at Sirius’ poor attempt of finding a replacement word for “skip”.

“Yeah, why not. See ya then, Black!” Mary turned towards the door.

“I bid you farewell my lovelies!” he then proceeded to bound down the hallway to Astronomy, which was on the complete opposite side of the castle.

Your class, Defense Against the Dark Arts, passed fairly quickly. And just as he had promised, Sirius came to pick you up, now with James and Marlene in tow. 

Marlene beamed at the sight of you and Mary. 

“Thank Godric you’re here! I was getting tired of these two.”

James gave her a light shove. “We’ll be meeting Moony and Wormtail towards the east end.”

“Couldn’t convince Lily to come along?”

James looked like he was about to protest, but sighed in defeat. You and your friends continued down the corridor, eventually meeting Remus and Peter after their rigorous Astronomy note-taking. You soon found yourself squished between James and Remus, marching down the main hallway.

“Hey, I thought we were sticking to the east end?”

“Silly (Y/N), we were meeting in the east end.” Sirius explained, as if he were speaking to a child. “Now, we’re on our way to the west end.”

“Ah right, and it makes perfect sense to take the busiest corridor in the school.” Mary quipped, and Marlene giggled.

The walk was pleasant, and filled with greetings from fellow classmates. Every now and then, James and Sirius would snicker about something, or mutter jokes to the group. It was then, that you saw him.

Michael Bershire, proud and tall, lead his pack of nuisances opposite you down the bright hallway. Most students ducked out of the way to avoid him, and a few first years were visibly shaking at the sight of him.  

Your vision went red as you locked eyes on your target. It was time.

“James,” you slipped your bag off and passed it to your left, “mind holding this f’me?”

“Uh, yeah su- (Y/N)!!”

In the blink of an eye, you had left your friends’ sides and found yourself hurtling towards Bershire. Although you were smaller than him, the sheer impact of your collision with him knocked the two of you off your feet. You landed on top on him. 

He knocked his head off the stone floor, and for a moment you thought he’d lost consciousness. But the bewildered look in his eyes told you otherwise. It was now or never. 

“YOU BLOODY BASTARD!” you screamed, letting hell rain down on Michael Bershire. You swung left and right, pummeling his once perfectly sculpted face. You could feel the bruises forming on your knuckles already. “HOW DARE YOU TOUCH REMUS LUPIN?! WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE, YOU BLITHERING FUCK!”

Somehow, Bershire had managed to wrap his legs around your waist, pulling you towards him and flipping your bodies so that you were beneath him. He pinned your wrists beside your head, and you felt the concrete sting your hands. 

‘No, how dare you, you muddy little bitch?!”

And that’s what set you off. You produced a sound that could only be described as a battle cry, and flung your forehead up and into his. Distracted by the headbutt, Bershire’s tense core loosened the slightest bit. It was enough for you crunch up and bring your knees into his groin, causing him to cry out in pain. 

Using his own momentum against him, you successfully flipped around again, resuming your position above his quivering form. Your hands found themselves around his throat, and without realizing it, you were bashing his head in the ground. 

thunk, thunk, thunk.

It was only Professor McGonagall’s shrill cry of fear that brought you back to reality. 

“MISS (L/N), GET OFF OF THAT BOY!”

You felt strong hands wrap around your arms and shoulders, whipping around to see that it was the four Marauders pulling you away from Bershire. The Slytherin gang was dragging said boy’s writhing and groaning form onto a cot from the hospital wing. 

You only stopped your kicking and resistance when McGonagall approached you, pointing her finger in your face, looking more angry than you’d ever seen her. 

“My office. Now.” she spoke, in such a tone that visible shivers went down your spine. The boys had yet to let go of your arms, and half carried you down the hallway of gawking and goggling students. 

Once arriving to her office, McGonagall stood in the doorway. She looked expectant and impatient all wrapped into one. You were finally let go of, and slowly turned to the four boys behind you. 

James and Peter still looked a bit shocked, and you found little comfort in the proud look Sirius was trying to hide. But Remus’ face is what hurt you the most.

“Rem, I-” you croaked. He wouldn’t even look at you. “I’m so sorry, I don’t-”

McGonagall cleared her throat bitterly behind you, cutting you off. You whispered another, barely audible “I’m sorry”, before following the Professor into her office.
