I've been wondering what pronouns were canon and just as I was looking through Tumblr to see if anyone had an answer, I get to the part of the Steven universe podcast where Rebecca says Rainbow is he/him they/them and sunstone is they/them she/her. Learn from my mistake, I waited until after my first class to tell a prof my preferred name but unexpectedly he called upon me in class and asked what my name is and I just totally blanked because he literally had the class list in front of him and I didn’t want to cause confusion. One of my classmates ended up laughing and yelling out “He doesn’t even know his name!” which was really embarrassing.

If they don't accommodate this kind of request, at many schools that would be a violation of the university interpretation of title IX. I work with Title IX a lot, if you ever run into an issue I'd be happy to do a bit of research and see what reporting options are at your university.
