“Same difference if you ask me,” he shrugged. “Any chance you’d be open to a demonstration? I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Hecate kid in action.”

“I mean it’s the only right response to my talented,” he shrugged, giving the drumsticks a twirl around his fingers with ease.

“You are kinda at the scene of the crime, Austin,” Harmony said, “If it wasn’t you then who was it?”

“Call me the king of crappy timing,” he shrugged back. “I mean I came over here because I heard a commotion and as I got here, someone was running away. Didn’t catch their face though so I’m not much help.”

“Ooh–” Austin cooed curiously as he picked something up that wasn’t his to grab but he didn’t care too much. “What’s this?” he asked the other, twirling the ancient-looking around. “Something you guys use for voodoo magic or something?”

“It seriously wasn’t me this time,” Austin replied after being accused. “Is that really so hard to believe?”

“Come to tell me how fantastic I am?” Austin looked up to the person approaching, hand holding the snare after having just gone crazy on the drums.

Austin rolled his eyes with a chuckle before speaking up, “When you start bringing people back to the cabin for a good time, I’ll give you crap for it too.”

Michael nodded. He would have preferred to have been up here alone, or at least with Luna. But he put a smile on his face for his brother. “Sorry Austin. Got a little too caught up in everything. You’re here now though. Happy to have you join.” 

“I mean yeah but– it doesn’t make me feel any less like a last choice,” he admitted with a shrug. Austin had quite the fragile ego, although he’d never admit it. “Have you spotted anything while up here?”

“No, I’m not bothered by this. Scream if monsters get through the barrier, not now,” Ginny rolled her eyes at the other.

“How can you be sure some haven’t already? They could just be hiding out and waiting to make their next move,” he considered with a chuckle.

Michael thought that monsters were a sign that things were about to start and he was ready for the word to be given. But for now, he had to play along. The moment Chiron told them about the monsters, Michael jumped up and called for  a group of campers to watch the border. Have a small group of people always on duty in case anything else happened, and he offered his name for the guard duty before anyone else. Being eager to help, acting concerned for the camp. 

When the moment came, Michael was dressed in armor, nothing but a leather chest plate and his spear. It was light and made him faster. He was standing next to Thalia’s tree as he looked down the hill. The dragon puffed hot air at him and Michael looked over. “Calm down Peleus. I don’t see anything. The fleece is safe.” He assured him, but what he didn’t know was that the dragon was telling him someone was approaching. So when he heard the crinkle of grass, the son of Zeus finally looked. “It’s all good.” He repeated. “Nothing’s coming.” 

When Austin saw one of his brother’s up by Thalia’s tree, he let his curiosity get the best of him as he wandered up to greet the other. “Keeping watch, huh?” he observed once he was close enough to Michael. “Not going to lie bro, I’m a little offended you didn’t invite me to help you out.”

“Everyone knows about it so what’s the point of accusing you?” Andie asked, shrugging. She took a sip of her drink, not looking impressed.

“I suggest you check your facts before making a final decision,” Austin remarked. “These are authentically not sent from myself, but believe what you must to sleep at night.”

“Maybe a half, but not all of them. I do hope you’re going to burn the more graphic ones,” Phee commented, eyeing the pile suspiciously.

“Burn them?” Austin pouted before a smirk reached his lips, “I was thinking of saving them for a rainy day.”

“So what were you doing the other day when you thought no one was in the cabin? I did notice a lot of envelopes,” he teased.

“That’s very funny brother,” Austin remarked, “But I don’t exactly see you with any envelopes of your own.”
