Hello! I am redoing my introduction page since I am redoing my Tumblr! My name is AuthorWithoutaName, I post fanfics on AO3. I primarily write She-Ra fics, sometimes Arcane, and I may branch out into other fandoms in the future! (I have one Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess fanfic).
Art by @theartofnina! This gif is for my contribution to @spopbigbang! I decided to write an Ocarina of Time inspired AU! Fic is now live: Like a River's Flow - Chapter 1 - AuthorWithoutaName - She-Ra and the Princesses of Power (2018) [Archive of Our Own]
Summary:
Found near the Whispering Woods by Razz, Adora grew up near Bright Moon. She dreamed of one day being a knight for the kingdom's army but until she is old enough to start her training, she spends her days exploring the woods with Catra, Glimmer, and Bow.
One day, her and Catra discover an ancient castle hidden deep inside the woods. Whilst exploring the strange palace, Adora gets sealed inside a strange room. She awakens seven years later to find a world vastly different from the one she grew up in.
Catra is now missing, with no one having seen in after she left the castle to get Adora help. The world is at war. The once strong kingdom of Bright Moon in shambles. Adora sets out on a journey to find Catra, stop the war, and restore Etheria to how it was before. And during all this, a strange-masked warrior doing Prime's bidding has been spotted all throughout Etheria.
(Or an Ocarina of Time inspired AU. We have a seven-year time skip, a mysterious warrior, and the guilt of not being around for the last seven years! Don't worry, you don't need to know anything about Ocarina of Time or the Legend of Zelda series to read! This fic is just inspired by some elements of it!)
I am trying the SPOP Big Bang event this year! I discovered SPOP through TikTok last year and fell in love with the show, so of course I had to go on AO3 and read fanfiction! I'm excited to join the event this year!
I decided for my fic, that I would combine two of my favorite franchises and I am writing an Ocarina of Time inspired fic about Adora and Catra!
I am working with @theartofnina, who has something AMAZING cooked up for this fic! I'm super excited for it and can't wait for all of ya'll to see it as well!
For my preview, I will be sharing the opening of my upcoming fic (titled "Like a River's Flow"), which opens with an homage to Ocarina of Time LOL:
In a vast, deep forest long known as the Whispering Woods…
Lightning flashed. Thunder rumbled and crackled. The ground rumbled in response.
A woods that had long been protected by an ancient and perhaps forgotten magic…
Dark clouds were gathering. Save for an occasional bolt of lightning, there was nothing but black and shadow. It consumed the whole sky. Any semblance of sun had long been snuffed out.
A magic that was rumored to have existed since the very beginning of the world itself. A magic no one knew how it worked. A magic that no one could summon or control…
To the west, to lands and kingdoms unknown and unfamiliar to Bright Moon, the oncoming storm looked particularly dark and foreboding.
For ages, a legend had been passed down through the families and kingdoms of Etheria. A myth of a warrior. A warrior who said to be garbed in white and gold…
I really don't understand how "without getting kudos or comments a fanfiction author is going to assume that people who clicked their fic didn't like it" became a controversial take.
I don't know why some people think an author should imagine, or guess that people who click their fic enjoyed it it when nobody is telling them that.
If you're re-reading a fic constantly, or leaving it up in your tab so that it re-loads every day for a hundred days the author is not going to know that unless you tell them. They'd love to hear it. It would make their day.
And if you don't tell them you liked their fic, there's no reason for them to assume you did.
This. If you like a fic, leave kudos. Leave comments! Even if it's just "Hi, I really liked this fic" or "That was a fun read" or "Oh, this is my favorite ship!"
It doesn't have to be an in-depth essay or anything (though no author will turn one of those down!). Just saying that you read this story and enjoyed it is enough!
This upcoming May will mark the 5 year anniversary of the finale of Dreamworks' She-Ra and the Princesses of Power. To celebrate, we're hosting a Big Bang with lots of fics and art, but we wanted everyone to be able to participate in some form.
Introducing SPOP Appreciation Week, a week of prompts to help us celebrate our fav and show the cast, crew and fandom itself there's still a lot of love for these characters out there.
SPOP Appreciation Week 2025 Prompts List
Remember / Memory
Past, Present and Future
A Beautiful Wish
You aren't alone.
Imperfection Is Beautiful
Heart
We're Going to Win in the End
How to participate
What can we make? Anything! Text posts, edits, show meta, fanart, fanfic, or even love letters to the show, cast, crew, or fandom itself. The main point of this event is to celebrate the show and get more posts out there overall, so think outside the box.
Where do we share? Everywhere! Anywhere! AO3, Tumblr, Facebook, Bluesky, Twitter, Instagram, etc wherever there's SPOP fandom.
Prompts can be interpreted anyway you like or ignored entirely if you want to do your own thing. Go out of order if that's what the muse wants, the point is just to make stuff and celebrate the show!
When you make your post, no matter what platform you're sharing it on, tag it #weloveSPOP2018 along with all the usual SPOP fandom, ship or character tags. Why this tag specifically? So if we do happen to trend anywhere, we ensure that Crew-Ra / Mattel / Netflix / Dreamworks et al understands which version of She-Ra we are celebrating.
We'll be reblogging our favorite SPOP Celebration posts on our sister blog, SPOPBang to keep them separate from the Big Bang posts so you don't have to tag us so long as you're using the #weloveSPOP2018 tag.
Remember: you don't need to make something long or complicated to participate! Whether it's silly memes, heartfelt posts about what the show means to you, fanworks inspired by the prompts, or using the prompts as a jumping off point to talk about your favorite scenes or character, we'd love whatever you have to share.
And if you have multiple things you want to post for each day, by all means, please do! The more, the better!
In addition to new content, we'd encourage you to reblog/retweet/re…bluesky older SPOP content during the celebration week to add to the nostalgia.
Tip: If you've got an idea for a post now, schedule it to post in advance so you don't forget! Tumblr and Twitter (well, on desktop anyway) let you schedule posts in advance natively. The app Buffer even has a free plan that will let you schedule posts on places like Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and Bluesky.
Here are the prompts with some suggestions of how you could interpret each…

We're Going to Win in the End
This last one is all about finding hope in these uncertain times. A reminder that we must be strong, we must be brave, we gotta find every bit of strength that we have and never let it go. It's ending the week with love and determination and looking forward to a better future together.
So I just read an interesting article today about He-Man Revelations season 3. Basically in a recent interview, Kevin Smith confirmed the hold up for season 3 is Mattel and Dreamworks trying to work out a deal for the She-Ra rights again. To which I say... THANK GOD
Because honestly, I'm glad they are apparently trying to work something out rather than going along and just making Despara someone who ISNT Adora. Because to be honest, considering the hints in the show and prequel comics... it would be dissapointing if it wasn't Adora under that Hordak mask.
And it's deftinetly something I think more worthwhile than doing live action She-Ra and He-Man stuff that might just never get made and get stuck in development hell (though the He-Man movie seems to be moving a bit more along... but I'll believe it when there's a trailer for it.)
So if the deal does go through, I am personally hoping that they at least considering bring Nate Stevenson on as a writer/creative consultant for season 3. I feel like his input would be very invaluable in making season 3 the best it could be.
And also possibly consider letting Aimee Carrero be Adora again (not that Grey Delise wouldn't be a BAD She-Ra, I friggin love that woman, but I feel like it would be a nice thing for us SPOP fans.) MAYBE AJ can be Catra again if they have the rights to her too.
Anyhoo, I hope Dreamworks and Mattel can sort all this legal nonsense out.
