your art is absolutely stunning, i can’t get over your stuff!!!! your colouring and compositions are just wonderful, i’m really loving your salvagepunk au. those types of settings are really interesting to explore and a big favourite of mine.

and i love how well you combine it with sonic, i was so thrilled to come across it! incredible detail in your work too and it’s just so fun to look at. your backgrounds are amazing? even the outfits are so so good. very inspiring!!

i have to ask you also, do you have any plans for Metal Sonic in your salvagepunk au given that Robotnik is still making robots and such? i’m curious about Rouge too in this setting if you have ideas for her!

Thanks so much!! I'm super glad this inspires someone!! I love all kinds of -punk universes, and with Sonic it felt so natural, thanks to the environmental message in the original game and all the silly robotics :D

My partner and I have plans for Metal Sonic, but they're still a bit fuzzy. We were thinking of adding some sprinkles of OVA and making Metal Sonic's creation one of the reasons Eggman is even after Sonic (besides the fact that he ruins his plans, breaks his robots and steals their parts)

Rouge will also be explored much later! For now the main focus is the showdown between Shadow-Robotnik and Sonic-Tails duos. But! We're already thinking about how to write her into the AU

Hiii! I am so so so sorry it took so long to answer!

Initially I just really wanted to throw the Sonic characters into a salvagepunk setting, because I ADORE salvagepunk AND Sonic characters, and I think these two things go well together. Then my partner came up with a plotline for Sonic, Shadow and Robotnik :D We brainstormed a little and the AU started to become more defined. We blended our ideas with key plot points from the original stories

In general: - The state of the world is post-world-crisis (post-apocalypse even?), the world has managed to recover, but resources are still limited, scrap materials which can be used for recycling are valuable. There is almost no developed mass industry. Jacks of all trades and handicraft engineers are in great demand. In the cities, different clans are fighting for control of districts and all that stuff. - All the characters are much older. For example, Sonic is 27, Tails is 20. - Robotnik works in the shadows and sells his robots and weapons to clans to maintain the chaos. - Shadow is an amnesiac who woke up years after the global crisis. He only has vague memories of Maria and Gerald, and barely knows who he is. He wants to obtain any information about the Robotnik family and the project that created him, so he begins to cooperate with Ivo Robotnik, who promises to repay him with information. In fact, Shadow becomes his right hand, who, to Robotnik's delight, deals with the assignments perfectly. - Tails and Sonic (and other members of the cast) confront those who attack the areas under their control and break Robotnik's robots. Then they dismantle them for spare parts to recycle them into something else, usually for a more peaceful purpose. - Sonic has given up his leadership position to Tails a little with age. Tails has become a bit tougher and more confident, great ambitions have begun to hatch in him. In the duo he is the obvious mastermind who issues instructions. Sonic is a visionary who harmonizes the systematic approach of Tails with his laid-back demeanor and carefree spirit. He is happy to serve his interests and willingly gets all sorts of useful junk for him. - Upon Shadow's arrival in the city, passers-by and security cameras started to capture his suspicious speeding behavior on a regular basis. And since there is only one known speeding hedgehog in the vicinity, Sonic's reputation began to take a hit. Of course Sonic and Tails will try to find out what the hell is happening. Something like that, yeah
