“’Two… Faced?” What happened to the conversation about their school’s volleyball team? With a shake of her head and a sigh from Kana, she felt sorry for Shinya. Perhaps another 2 hour rant or maybe a wedgie presentation on Procellarum is required for him to refresh his memory.

“I didn’t hear that very clearly, Shinya.” She clasped her hands together and questioned Shinya with a gleeful tone. “Did you say something about Shun-sama?”

Oh crap. He had somehow managed to land himself in a sticky situation. Kana could be terrifying under certain circumstances, and although his sisters weren’t much better, Kana was particularly bad. Ever since she had discovered she was older than him and she became taller thanks to a sudden growth spurt, she had used her powers for evil even though in some cases he deserved it. “I said I appreciate that guy! S-since he makes his fans so happy...” Was he going to swallow his pride and praise Shimotsuki Shun to save his ass? Yes, yes he was.

Kana rested her cheek upon her palm and slid some stir fry noodles into her mouth. “You’re right.” She nodded in agreement, pulled out her phone, and admired the wallpaper of her screen before wrapping an arm around Shinya. “How do I deal with those upperclassmen everyday, you ask?” She unlocked her phone and opened a couple of pictures for her friend to see.

“Look at this, Shinya!” Lo and behold, pictures of Kana draping herself on a Shimotsuki Shun cutout.

Shinya grimaced. “That might work for you, but for me that’s a little...” He could forget how wild Kana could be over Procellarum. Especially over the devil king, or whatever the hell he was called. He didn’t understand why she was so into a group with a bunch of weirdos. “What’s so great about that two faced looking guy?” He muttered lowly to himself.

Judging by this person’s appearance alone, there really wasn’t anything special about him, other than the fact he was so tall. As a matter of fact, he was much taller than the other students that attended his high school. Perhaps he could get a few tips and tricks from him? Shinya approached the other, the camera that could commonly be found around his neck swinging with each step. “Excuse me, sir-! May I have a moment of your time?”

How Henry had ended up in this situation, he had no idea. He had been with someone who actually knew Japanese, but they got separated when he decided to wander off to get a picture of the high school (for his Instagram of course). It was just his luck, too, since he wasn’t at all a people person. “Uhm…” he began, catching the word ‘Japanese’, before shaking his head. “<Sorry.>” he uttered in the foreign language. At least he’d picked up a few things from all the anime he’d been forced to watch on the plane.

Well, at least he knew some-and some was better than none. Shinya pointed to Henry. “<Name?>” He managed to say in English to clarify, although he wasn’t sure how long he could keep this up before he pointed to himself. “<My name is Yamamoto Shinya.>” A guidebook would certainly come in handy at this point. The last thing he wanted to do was make small talk considering he only wanted to know why this strange kid was at his school.

It still seemed to surprise the students here how such a young–child they supposed was able to get on campus. She looked old enough where people couldn’t assume she was one of those genius wiz kids who skipped multiple grades; that && it was always noted how she just appeared outside of classes. Usually being seen clung to the new transfer student && some of the third years. However, the sight of this student really seemed to catch her eye!! She was curious enough to wonder where he was going. && then  she was caught. ‘ Anoooooo~ ‘ She’d hum, fingers pressing tips against eachother in a cutesy way as the elder had keeled down, asking her if she was lost. Crimson eyes dropped down to his camera, iris lighting up as it seemed to catch her attention like a child would be with a pair of keys. ‘ No, I’m not losties, but I was supers curious to know where you were going. That’s a really cool camera, Mister!! ‘

How was he supposed to carry out a normal conversation with a child that used a word like losties-!? He swallowed a dry lump in his throat and resisted the urge to cry out in frustration. He shielded the camera so she wouldn’t be able to touch it-he’d be screwed if she broke it with her chubby child fingers or something. “Uh, thanks. It’s just a Nikon camera. It’s property of the Photography Club, so I have to be careful with it.” Although in the eyes of a child, he supposed anything could be a new and wonderful experience, but that was besides the point. “Are you waiting for a sibling?” It was time for club activities around this time but they were far from over. Not to mention those part of the Going Home Club had already left.

          {♪} —; “I’m glad!” he hummed, letting the boy go before they stopped and looked back. He raised an eyebrow before deftly replying. “I would love to come with you! Why, I thought you’d never ask!” he skipped over beside the other, point his arms at both ends of the hallway. “Just show me the direction and I’ll follow you Yamamoto-san! To the ends of the Earth ~ ♪”

“Urk-” He immediately regretted asking. He had been hoping Mio would say no, but it looked like his luck was running low today. Even more so when they arrived at the club room. 

“-What do you mean the Girl’s Volleyball Club already has a photographer!?” The photography president sighed. “He’s more experienced than you. And he’s a third year,” She responded sympathetically. “Not much I can do at this point-but you can find him and ask to take over his position if you want.” Shinya could feel his world crumbling to pieces. Such a brilliant plan all gone to waste-! He knew exactly who the third year the president spoke of was. There was no way he’d allow Shinya to take over his photos! As they left the club room, he hung his head and dragged his feet. “Senpai...it looks like it won’t work. It’s hopeless. Tanaka-senpai will never let go of a job once it’s given to him.”

A foreigner!? At school? Shinya lifted his hands up and shook his head in response to whatever they were saying. He didn’t understand a single thing this person was asking him. English was a subject he prided himself on, but conversational English definitely wasn’t his forte. “Do you speak Japanese?” He said very slowly, although he wasn’t sure why, because if they didn’t understand him chances were they wouldn’t be able to answer him properly in the first place.

There was a child following him. Being the baby of his family, he never quite understood how to deal with children, nor had it ever crossed his mind. However, the fact this particular girl was on the campus of his school caused him to approach her. Normally he wouldn’t (he wasn’t very fond of kids with their grubby hands and shrill voices), but she might be looking for an older sibling. “Hey there,” He greeted as he knelt down a little ways. “You uh...lost?” His eyes scanned her white hair. She understood Japanese, right?

          {♪} —; “Amazing huh?” he cleared his throat, holding a hand to his chest and then extending the other out in a grandeur manner. “Very A-MEI-JIN-GU !“ he exclaims, laughing loudly before humming. “Make sure you make it official with the school as well, alright? Ask the manager for your club, I’m sure you’ll be able to ‘capture’ her heart with your camera.”

Well, that comment certainly ruined their short lived moment. Nonetheless, Shinya still respected his upperclassman for being able to concoct such a brilliant plan, so he resisted the urge to sigh and nodded instead. “Yeah...a-mei-jin-gu,” He repeated in a near deadpan. “Will do, senpai! I’m on it right now!” He turned to leave before halting mid step. Looking over his shoulder, he said in an almost weary tone of voice, “Did you want to come with?” He wasn’t too sure how the club president would take to fish-alien-human creatures.

          {♪} —; “Oh! A third year huh? How scandalous!” he puts a hand on his hip and observes the situation. “If that’s the case, then you have to find a reason to be near her! Like, try to get them to pose for a calender or something! Fundraiser, take photos—you’re in the photography club right? I mean you wouldn’t have that fancy camera round your neck if you didn’t belong there, right?”

“-Ohhh!” Shinya’s demeanor quickly changed from standoffish to positively excited. His eyes gleamed at the thought of being able to photograph Nami-well, more like the Kitatakioto Volleyball Club, but that went unsaid. “Awesome! Amazing! You’re the best, senpai!” Glancing down at the camera (which was, in fact, dangling around his neck), he grinned and stroked a thumb affectionately across its surface. “I’ll be sure to talk to her with this plan!”

          {♪} —; “You’re right, you didn’t! But I offered it anyways because I love teasing my underclassmen.” he grins before he notices the change in their demeanor. “Oh? Does sweet, little Yamamoto-san have a crush on someone? I definitely know how to talk to them! I can help you if it won’t wound your pride—one man to another.”

“That’s...” Somehow, he felt he could spill his heart out to this oddball. Perhaps it was for the very reason he was a stranger Shinya felt as if he could talk about his love troubles. “There’s this third year,” He began as his hand slid off the back of his neck. “Whenever I try to talk to her, her teammates always get in the way, or she’s busy practicing volleyball, or she’s at some training camp! It’s like I can never find the right opportunity!”

          {♪} —; “Uwaaaaah you’re so crass and mean Yamamoto-san! If you keep acting like that no man or woman is ever going to fall in love with you, you know?” he pretends to rub a tear out of his eye, laughing a bit before clearing his throat. “No need to be defensive! I’m just teasing you ~ ♪”

Shinya blanked for a solid minute. If were to act more loosely around his upperclassman, would she...? He blinked once before snapping back with a quick, “I didn’t ask for your advice!” He did, however, stay rooted in place. As he rubbed the back of his neck and kicked a pebble underfoot, he murmured-“Do you know how to, uh...talk to girls?”

          {♪} —; “Thaaaaaaaat’s right! I’m a fish, human, and alien!” he grins, tilting his head side to side as he took a bow before the other. He raised himself upright before listening to their introduction. “Yamamoto huh? Cute name, but complicated! Yama sounds cuter, do you mind if I call you Yama? Your hair is fluffy, I like it!”

His suspicions were reconfirmed. Yup, definitely a weirdo. Shinya froze at the question before shifting into an almost defensive stance (despite the clear inability to use self defense). “What the hel-I mean, no, you may not!” A splotchy red was spreading across his face, and rapidly at that. The fact this stranger refused to use honorifics was positively baffling.

“Let me get this straight. You’re a fish...and an alien?” What sort of weirdo had he encountered this time? First it was the upperclassmen of Kitatakioto’s Girl’s Volleyball Club-and now he had to deal with this? Shinya swallowed his pride and grit his teeth. This person was older than him, after all, and it would be bad manners to shout how ridiculous this person was sounding. “I...see. Nice to meet you then. I’m Yamamoto Shinya.”
