Hello Folks, for those who are wondering: I'm retiring from Tumblr

As said above, I am archiving both this and @autumna-potentia because I simply cannot write these characters in this enviroment anymore.

This has nothing to do with one specific person or one specific happening, it's just that the enviroment I curated for myself doesn't quite fit for my taste anymore. It might also be the fact that I am very picky with my own things, I am not trying to sound as if I am better than anyone here.

Every single one of the folks I followed are wonderful, I do not mean to say that they are not - and apologies for those who I have followed and talked with recently before making this post - it's just that my style of storytelling and writing doesn't mix well with others. No fault on anyone, except for my inability to adapt.

I'll be taking these characters and revamping and reusing their concepts for my own creative writing projects.

Again, I wish to apologise to those that I have just started doing things with or have never replied to. My discord will be shared upon request.

Take care. And may the hammer of creativity allow you to break through as many writer's blocks as possible.

This blog will not RP with 'writers' who use AI.

This goes for anything about your blog by the way. Not just writing, but icons, graphics, anything having to do with your blog. Even if you're not transparent about it and think that the AI is 'so good nobody will notice', people will find out, we always do.

This is a creative hobby. Most rational people will understand that not everyone can have fancy graphics & icons, but that doesn't mean you have a machine pull from 100,000+ stolen & scraped pieces of art & other images from multiple unknowing creatives to cobble something together to supposedly make your blog look 'nicer'.

Either make your own icons / graphics, and/or commission someone to make them for you. There's also plenty of free templates for you to check out that take less effort to find than feeding a prompt that's currently responsible for making life harder for creatives such as us. End of.

Another night of restless sleep from pain and anxiety.

It's been a few days ever since the Hax incident. The clawed arm began to hea and, despite the treatments Rune managed to scrap together, it still hurt very much. Such bullshit.

Everybody else was still not functional enough to front. Blake and Cyrus were too stressed out. Galaxy was trying to take care of both of them. And Kit was... Kit. That left only Rune to deal with everything. And when they were not dormant, the others only made it harder.

Adrenaline spiked at any thought of what could happen next time they saw Hax. At any sign of something stalking in the night the body was ready to fight again. Rune usually got enjoyment out of physical effort. But not like this. Not when it all was for nothing and not when it kept him from sleeping.

It felt as if it was too much of an effort to get out of bed again. Rune hated it, but could do nothing against the body's protest. So he turned around in bed. He faced the black cat that loved to curl behind them, and then went back to sleep for now.

So! About differentiating between alters in Witch's system!

Witch's alters have come up with a style of clothing they all agree on, with a few exceptions of outfits that they have bought for each other/themselves.

People that have interacted with Witch before can, if perceptive enough, make a distinctions in fronting alters by their posture, voice and behaviour.

Blake normally speaks at a relatively past face with a customer service voice as long as they are either in public or with strangers, but slows down and becomes calmer when with people he trusts in private. They are usually slouched over slightly, trying to occupy as little space as possible. While openly friendly, they tend to help with little to no words unless they are required to.

Cyrus speaks formally, with the tone of an actually friendly coworker. Even with people he is comfortable around, this formality never drops. He stands straight and looks straight, but respects other people's place and this slight "professional" distance is always kept. He's your average joe that is just a little too caught up in his work

Galaxy's accent sometimes wavers, being fabricated rather than natural as in the case of everyone else - which she corrects with a slight chuckle. She has what are conventionally accepted as "feminine" behaviours, with a slight side-to-side swing in her step. She has the hospitality of the hosttess of a rustic hotel and doesn't hesitate to help people and make them smile.

Kit is always wavering and quiet, as if walking on eggshells with their words. Much like Blake, they are slouched but avoid eye contact with people as much as possible and will even retreat within themselves slightly when they are around anyone. They're anxiety ridden, but still manage to power through when needed

Rune has this constant growl in his voice, which is what distinguishes him the most out of everyone else despite the fact that he does not have a different accent than the one Blake and Galaxy naturally have. He's relaxed and while he will not enter anyone's personal space, he will take up as much space as he can. He doesn't hold grudges, but does beat around the bush of things with bluntless on subjects related what he wishes to talk about

Their hand is slapped over the right half's mouth, halting their words just as the necklace is thrown to the ground. The box opening as it make contact with the earth and the necklace itself is revealed.

A tiny spoon, in the shape of a muffin, much like the muffins they had baked for Witch once or twice before.

Hax, the lemon muffin.

Both their eyes widen as they spot the handmade gift. The hand that had slapped over their mouth dropping slowly from their face.

Witch had only just met them, they'd talked so few times and hung out together even less. Yet they cared so much, they remembered the first confection they shared, went out of their way to make them a gift for a budding friendship.

Still wanted to give them this gift, despite the fact that they were trying to rip their head right off their shoulders.

There has to be some other reason, they had to serve a use to Witch somehow. That's the only reason they'd want them around.... right?

The hand that had covered their mouth rushes to grip their hair, to pull on it and pull more tears from the right half's eye. A cry of pain, of sadness, leaves them as they flicker back into view.

The faces argue back and fourth, enough that both their hands have to curl into their hair as they try to split further down the middle. Vying for control, to make sense of someone new, someone that should've easily been scared away by what they became... refusing to leave. Staying, despite the damage they'd done and had planned to do.

It gave enough time for a tiny hand to grab to Witch's arm- a small seemingly human girl standing there- her eyes flicking between Witch and her sibling.

Blake had been too focused on Hax to notice the approaching girl, strained by both physical and mental pain and stress. They even started their first step towards the larger one, if only to be stopped by another hand grabbing their own.

They flinched in pain when their free hand was tugged. The barrel of the revolver stopped half way through pointing at this strange little girl when her appearance was finally processed by a still stressed Blake.

She was too calm. That was the one constant thought between the flood gates of questions and theories that were so overwhelming they blanked Witch's brain.

"But if I do it'll only do more damage. They need someone who'll choose to stay right now." They could worry later about everything else. Just letting their mouth run on its own would do.

"I am going to help them. If that means helping you then I'm not opposed to it, but I am not running away from them." Their breath was strating to hitch and shake just like their voice did.

The drain on their already low stamina was catching up to them in this mere moment of respiro. Tears formed in the corner of their eyes were swiped with the same hand that held the revolver and weight shifted in place in an attempt to keep some sort of balance.

They hadn't even realized they refered to themselves using singular notions, much like they - all of them - did in situations where communication was hard or nonexistent.

Scratch as one might, but reflections are harder to be rid of than with just sandpaper and dust. The ear of a god already spoken to, already summoned, was not so fast to abandon the summoner.

The darkness of the bathroom ceiling bounced back at them, though Lhi lay coiled like a snake and sleeping beside it amidst the endless circling spire of mirrors within their nest. Each a window into a new place, each a window into a different dream, a different life.

And then those words, those simple little words of invitation, flittered through the mirror, echoed from walls away, frustrated and loud.

Within a second of Blake's unintentional request, and without even a flick of fanfare, a pale humanoid creature— with long black horns and glittering opal eyes, well over eight feet tall and built strong, with a blackness like ink stretching up both arms and legs— very suddenly took up a once empty space a few feet behind Blake.

"Permission given so loudly! It would be rude to reject it!" They smiled and bowed, their long cascade of hair falling over their shoulders like a waterfall. "Hello again, Dreamer! What fun words you have for me." They looked back up, mischief in their eyes.

A shiver ran up Blake's spine as the runes around the house did their best to keep the intruder out. Both an alarm and a trap they were supposed to be, yet to someone as powerful as Lhi they would be nothing more than webs sticking to them as if they swiped their hand through an old corner.

A new voice followed immediately, not giving the witch time to prepare and startling them. They dropped both the sandpaper and tape on their kitchen floor, scrambling immediately to grab one of the now empty pots they'd use later that day and hold it like a pan.

"WHAT THE CĂCAT SĂ ÎMI BAG CEVA DE FUCKING-" they shouted out, surprise not keeping the language they swore in consistent.

They remained in this defensive position, ready to swing but too afraid to do so. Knuckles went white and arms shook with tension as they looked upon this new creature as they spoke about 'fun words'.

"Gottdammit- why isn't sarcasm universally understood and accepted as sarcasm?! That was not supposed to be an invitation!" they cried out with the grief of somebody who just dropped their ice cream.

At the same time, they swang the pot down towards Lhi's head as they looked up. They weren't strong, nor fast, but it was the only thing they thought to do.

“Where’d I put that thing?” Blake thought as they figuratively danced around the house to gather the tools needed for the making of this gift for Hax.  

They had transformed their chicken into a small workstation, tools laid out over an older tower that they didn’t use anymore. 

“It’s so cheesy” Galaxy teased as she watched Blake slowly shape the spoon. “Maybe we can call them lemon muffin as an endearment.” 

This went back and forth as the metal was cut, bent and carved slowly but surely into the shape of a cartoonish muffin. They hoped Hax would like it.

The words come out in a low hiss and, if they listened carefully, a slight quiver to the voice that half of the face was using. Paying little mind to the gun now that they'd knocked it from Witch's hand. Ready to lunge at them one last time, this time to seize them proper, put and end to this fight so they could go start another.

The sound of shattering glass stops them, the smell from within halting them in place as they cough and sputter suddenly. As the hand that was covering their right side instinctively rushes to their throat as they choke on the fumes.

The half of their face that'd been gagged wastes little time shouting at their friend between coughs,

"Those are called intrusive thoughts and surprise, you oversized lemon muffin, we all have those! And they don't define who you are, it's your response to those thoughts that does."

They opened the necklace's box and threw it Hax's direction. As it landed and the metal clinged, it was clear why they'd choose that specific nickname - the necklace was previously a spoon that had been carved and shaped to look like a muffin.

The words 'Hax, the lemon muffin' were engraved on both sides of it.

"I am not leaving. I'm not letting anyone ruin your life, not even yourself." They added, voice soft and without a drop of agression in it.

With their uninjured hand, they took a hold of the revolver again. Radiant flames wrapped around their finger and arm, seemingly harmless to them.

A loud hiss echos out from the alleyway as they jump from their hiding place and shoot at them once again. Missing, invisibility seemingly serving them well for the moment, allowing them to lash out in turn with a swipe of a massive clawed hand.

They laugh, mixing it with another hiss as they force themself to move suddenly, to dark across to the other end of the alley and clear out of the line of fire behind them.

Of course their blood may betray them, but if Witch failed to noticed they'd gain the upper hand. Give them time to grab and crush them in their hand, to break their bones before they'd give into the awful thought of snapping their neck.

The other half of their face tries to scream a protest, but it's muffled by the hand slapped over it,

|| 💛 ||: ❝ Maybe you would've been an awful friend to us anyway. Would've wanted us to play whatever role you needed, just like everyone else. ❞

They barely manage to make out what is happening from the sound and blood alone, with just enough time to shield themsleves with their aiming arm - the pain of the claws tearing into it making them drop the gun at their feet as they cry out in pain.

Blood dripped from the wound onto their jacket, the ground and the revolver. The metal lit up with runes before being overtaken by a radiant flame, activated by the crimson catalyst.

"We didn't tell you about the gun, did we now? And who the fuck gave us the right to know everything about you anyway?!" They begin shouting.

Tears formed in their eyes from the pain, following the blood onto the ground. The metal didn't hiss in contact with the tears.

They were still perceptive enough to find the source of the voice somewhere behind them. It allowed them to smash the bottle against the ground in the hopes that the smell would deter any immediate agression.

At the same time they pushed the gun with their foot in the other direction as they now backed up that way.

"I worry about using people as well, you know? Fucking hell, I've been on the receiving end it" they continued, pushing through the pain with a heavy swallow as they reached in their pocket for the necklace.

"But I want to hear that from Hax's mouth. Because I don't know who hurt you, but you're only hurting yourself more. And I won't allow that, friend or not."
