like you do have to realize that this whole entire thing could’ve been over and done with in less than a week if you’d just admitted that You Fucked Up and offered a sincere, genuine apology. I’ve said time and time again (and I’m sure you know this seeing as you dug through my personal blog for screenshots), I don’t fault you for being ignorant, I fault you for repeatedly and aggressively rejecting criticism, and for throwing your aromantic, asexual, mentally ill, AND minor readers under the bus.

You are a professional artist posting your work on a public website. You cannot expect everyone to adore your work and praise it as 100% flawless. You are not flawless. Nothing and no one is perfect. And we’re not going to better ourselves if we don’t consider where and how we mess up. We’re not. It’s called stagnation.

I will not deny that I have been rude in my rants about you/the comic/the fandom in general. I nonetheless do not regret a single thing I’ve said thus far. You are a toxic person and I would be more than happy to never interact with you again.

Not that I’ve ever interacted with you in the first place. I’m allowed to vent on my own goddamn blog.

As many of you may or may not be aware, Michelle Czajkowski recently left Tumblr for good. Considering that this announcement was posted on the official Ava’s Demon blog, I doubt we’ll be seeing her again outside of Twitter.

One’s mental health always comes first, and as Michelle felt it would be detrimental to her health to remain on this website, I do not shame her for leaving. But mental health does not grant anyone permission to evade responsibility when they have harmed someone else. And Michelle is not innocent.

“a writer’s character’s viewpoints don’t reflect the writer’s viewpoints!!!” actually, they do.

that doesnt mean having a, for instance, homophobic character means the author is homophobic. but how is the homophobia treated? is it criticized? is it excused, idealized? is it framed so that the homophobia is clearly wrong? does the inclusion of homophobia in the narrative serve a point?  

writers, especially professional published writers, know that their writing has an impact, and the morals they put forward in their work reflect deeply on themselves. they know how they frame and present their work can completely change the result and effect it has. 

so maybe the character’s viewpoints don’t say much about the writer, but how the writer presents this character and its viewpoints says a hell of a fuckin lot about the writer.

all right I’m gonna be upfront: I have not talked to MC in any way, shape, or form once. unless you wanna count the one time she replied to a joke post explaining why the swearing was taken out of the comic, that’s been the complete extent of my interactions with her. And while I will NOT stand for “pics or it didn’t happen” regarding harassment, I’m going to ask you to take my word for it when I say I have not harassed and never will harass Michelle.

Pointing out the flaws in her comic and saying that she’s said some not-so-kind things is NOT harassment, it’s called being an aware consumer.

I’m closing my inbox and it will stay that way indefinitely. Thanks.

What is even wrong with the comic? I saw you reblog a post complaining about the creator changing panels, but I don't see anything wrong with updating the panels as she improves her art style. Nothing has even fundamentally changed. When I saw her leaving letter on the main blog, I was very shocked and confused as to why she was getting hate. Can you please explain, or...

Oh, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with updating the panels in and if itself. :o If this is the post in question, it’s not even complaining about the change, really - I’m just a little irritated because this is the third time the early chapter panels have been revamped when it’s unnecessary at best.

You ever see that one “how to do a webcomic” graphic? I can’t seem to find it to link it, but it warns about how easy it is to get in an endless loop of redoing the early pages until next thing you know your comic hasn’t progressed for months and you keep redrawing panels you’re not satisfied with instead of moving along. Yeah. :V

As for the entire thing about Michelle leaving tumblr... it’s a long, long story. Basically, the fandom went to hell for a few days in early December over arophobia/acephobia--she confirmed on the Formspring way back that there are no asexuals in the comic; which, as an asexual, I think is understandable and definitely not hate-worthy.

What I’m not too keen on is the fact that, later on, she and someone else made a joke over the lack of representation, comparing asexuals to “alligators.” People started saying she was acephobic due to this as well as Crow’s “virgin nerd lord” comment. And honestly, whether or not you think she’s acephobic due to either of those comments, her goodbye letter had a small aside that can be summarized as “I was going to represent you asexuals, but you were too mean and so I’m not going to,” which imo is definitely acephobic and overall Terrible. :T

well this is new

that’s what happens when I go under the /blog/ page

trying to reblog a post from the post itself does not redirect to my dashboard, although attempts to actually post anything still fail

I can access my main’s drafts and queue, if only for viewing purposes since any attempts to do anything else with those posts fail

my actual blog still seems “Not found”

I emailed tumblr again earlier today this could be progress of some sort?

if you look closely this “Request denied” page is still using a slightly different background color than tumblr’s default background (graphicdesignismypassion.jpeg)

honestly. You never see the “live and let live” sentiment aimed at the people who go on anon to suicide bait and send death threats. :/
