He Asks MC To Become Immortal [Obey Me! Headcanons]
Obey Me! Masterlist
--
“So…MC can be immortal?” Mammon asked as Solomon revealed the mistake he made.
“Yes, per our pact terms, I wanted Solomon to keep how he became immortal safe until I wished for him to reveal it,” Barbatos revealed. “I knew at one point, that we may all want to have MC become immortal.”
Solomon looked down at the journal detailing his immortality. It was worn, but still legible. “I considered what I did a mistake,” Solomon spoke quietly. “It’s difficult watching those you grew up with die. The ones that were children of your friends outage you. It’s difficult, I won’t lie. But MC has all of us, so if they decide to do this, it may be easier. However, it has to be MC’s decision.”
“Barbatos, have you manipulated the timeline back then so that they become immortal?” Lucifer questioned.
Barbatos shook his head. “I did not. I purposefully left it open so that this is purely MC’s choice. They can become immortal now, wait and become immortal later, or die at their natural time.”
“Well, what are we waitin’ for! Let’s go ask ‘em now,” Mammon stood up.
Lucifer grabbed his wrist. “No, it should just be one of us. We shouldn’t pressure MC into doing this. And no matter what, we all need to respect their decision.”
“Right, they could say no,” Mammon mumbled and clenched his hands into a tight fist. “Well, let’s get this over with.”
Lucifer
“Yes, let’s get this over with,” Lucifer spoke and pulled Mammon back to his chair. “I will go and speak with MC about the proposition. You all wait here. I will not have anyone interrupt my conversation with that.”
He quickly strode out of the room and marched to MC’s room. Taking a deep breath, he stared down at the door handle. He wondered how many more times he’d be able to go through their door to see them. How many more days, how many years he’d have with them. He knocked on the door and walked in.
“MC?” His crimson eyes moved to where they were lounging on their bed, browsing through their DDD.
“Are you done with your super-secret meeting with all the others?” MC asked with a light chuckle. They turn to their side and looked at him. “What’s up?” Lucifer moved and sat on the bed next to them. His hand ran through their hair. MC frowned. “Lucifer? What’s going on?”
“I’m just trying to remember everything about you,” he spoke quietly. “I don’t want you to feel pressured, you can say no and it will be fine.”
MC sat up. They grabbed his hand from their head and held onto it tightly. “Say no to what?”
Lucifer looked at them in the eyes. “I love you, MC. Your presence has changed all of us for the better. We want you to stay with us for as long as you’ll allow.” He paused. “Would you like to become immortal and stay with us…Stay with me forever?”
Mammon
“Imma go. I’m their first man, I should be the one to ask them,” Mammon spoke confidently. He almost expected the others to protest. There wasn’t a single one. He looked around in shock. “Are ya sure it should be me? I mean, I’m just some scum bag!”
“No, it should be you,” Lucifer encouraged him. “You were the one that’s always been there for them. Go.”
Mammon gulped and ran to MC’s room. At the door, he burst through the door and knelt over panting.
“Hey, Mammon,” MC hummed, not even bothered by his sudden intrusion.
Mammon looked at them in shock. “H-hey.” He quickly shuffled over to them and sat down. His heart hammered heavily in his chest as he tried to sort out his thoughts from the scrambled mess they were coming out in. His heart beat even faster when he felt MC lean into his shoulder.
“Are you okay, Mammon?” MC questioned. Their hands wrapped around his arm as they cuddled into it.
“Y-yeah,” Mammon sighed. “Look, MC. I’ve never been better whenever I’m around ya. I always wanna be with ya. Just the thought that we’re gonna be away from each other for more than an hour or two gets me upset.”
MC chuckled, remembering the times he’s thrown fits about it. “Yes, I know.”
“Which is why,” Mammon took a deep breath. Here went nothing. “I want ya to become immortal and be with me forever.”
Leviathan
Levi shook as he waited for someone to get up. When no one made a motion to go, he looked up to see everyone looking at him. “Wh-what? Why are you all looking at me?!”
“You’re their best friend, Levi,” Asmo cooed. “You should go ask them.”
“A-are you sure? What if I mess it up!?”
“You won’t, Leviathan,” Lucifer spoke calmly. “The only way to mess it up is if you don’t ask them.”
Levi nodded and stood up. His hands trembled as he slowly walked to MC’s room. His breaths stuttered out. Carefully, he knocked on the door.
“Password?”
Levi’s eyes widened. “Since when did you have a password?!”
MC opened the door and giggled. “Just messing with you since you always ask for one.” They stepped aside. “Come in.”
Levi sighed and walked in. He looked around nervously before he took a seat on MC’s bed. MC watched him for a moment before they sat next to him. They stayed quiet, letting him figure out exactly what he wanted to say.
“S-say MC, do you remember that anime we watched together where there were the two lovers and one was immortal while the other one would eventually die and how the immortal character wanted the mortal one to become immortal like him and then they could live together but there was the whole issue that the mortal character might not like being immortal but the immortal character swore he would help them get through everything that would happen and that he’d be there for them forever?”
“Breathe,” MC told him as he gasped for breath. “Yes, I remember. It was a sweet anime, I really enjoyed it. Why do you bring it up?”
Levi played with his hands. “Would you…Would you want to be immortal like me?”
Satan
“I’ll go and ask them,” Satan spoke and stood up. Not even bothering to get Lucifer’s permission. He walked past him, nearly expecting the eldest to throw him back. When it didn’t happen, his heart pounded a bit faster. It increased the closer he got to MC’s room.
“MC?” he called out as he knocked on the door while opening it. “Do you have a moment?”
MC looked up from their desk they were doing their homework at. “Yeah, come in.”
Satan strode over and grabbed a spare chair before he pulled it up to them. Taking his seat, he took MC’s hands in his own. His thumb ran along the back of their hand. MC watched him curiously, but let him think until he was ready to speak.
“Solomon has the secret to immortality.” MC nodded at Satan’s words. “He’s shared it with us.”
“Oh?” MC blinked in shock. “He did?”
Satan watched them carefully. “Yes, he did. I want to live happily ever after with you, forever. But that has to be your choice, if you want to live forever.”
Asmodeus
“I should go and talk to them! I know the beauty of living forever, I’m sure I could persuade them!”
“Asmodeus,” Lucifer started. “They need to know the ugly, too.”
Asmo’s smile turned into a frown. “I know, but I…I want to preserve their beauty forever.”
“If you can’t do this,” Lucifer spoke and stood up.
Asmodeus shook his head. “No, I want to do this. I can do this.” Before Lucifer could say anything else, he hurried to MC’s room and burst through the door. MC looked at him slightly startled as he ran and fell into their arms.
“Asmo? What’s up?” they asked with confusion, but not too shocked that he dramatically threw himself on them and sprawled across their lap.
“MC, darling.” Asmo played with their fingers before bringing it to his lips. “You do know that I love you so much, don’t you? That I love you more than even myself?”
MC giggled lightly. “I do.”
“I want you to be with me forever,” Asmo murmured and buried his face into their stomach. “I never want to lose you. We would all be here for you, I would be here for you, even when you lose your loved ones, we’ll always be here. You and I can take so many photos! You might never change in them, but that’s okay. I won’t either! Just the fashion trends will change.”
“Asmo? What are you talking about?”
Asmo looked up at them. “Solomon has a way to make you immortal, if you want to.”
Beelzebub
“I’ll go,” Beel spoke and got up to walk. He grinned slightly when Belphie encouraged him. He walked ahead while munching on his snacks. At MC’s door, he knocked and waited for them to let him. Slowly, he opened the door and peaked his head in. When his eyes landed on MC’s form, he perked up. Stepping in, he closed the door behind him and made his way to them.
“Want some?” he asked and held out the bag of chips. MC giggled and shook their head before patting the spot next to them.
“What brings you here, Beel?”
“I’m glad you’re a part of the family now,” Beel spoke as he shuffled the chips about in the bag. “You make everyone happy.”
MC titled their head and watched him as he ate. With a small smile, they leaned into his side. “I’m glad I’m here, too, Beel.”
“I want you to be here forever, but only if that would make you happy.” Beel stopped eating as he turned to look at MC. “If it would make you happy, Solomon could help you become immortal.” He looked back at the chips before he started eating. “Promise me you’ll think about it before you make any decisions.”
Belphegor
Belphegor stood up as he struggled to move towards MC’s room. He felt the eyes of the others watching him. He almost sat back down before he felt Beel push him forward. He turned to his twin in shock.
“I don’t have the right,” Belphegor protested.
“You’ve been forgiven. Now go and ask them,” Beel said firmly and shook his head. With a sigh, Belphegor carefully meandered his way to MC’s room. His feet dragged with each step he took. As he approached the door, he had half a mind to take a nap to think it over. Still, he kept moving on and opened the door. He moved to their bed and collapsed onto it face first.
“Belphie?” MC questioned and placed a hand on his back. “What’s wrong?”
Belphegor turned to his side and eyed them. “No matter how long you’ll be with us, you’ll still have known my brothers for longer.”
MC laughed lightly and ran their fingers through his hair. “Yeah, that’s true.”
Belphie pouted. “We should spend more time together to try and make up for that.”
“Yeah, we could do that,” MC hummed. “But I’d still know your brothers more.”
“Then, we should try and make that go forever, just so that amount of time you know my brothers and not me is just like a blink of an eye compared to how long we’ve known each other.”
MC laughed lightly. “I don’t know how we could do that.”
“Solomon can make you immortal,” Belphegor whispered. “That’s why I’m here right now.”
Diavolo
“If you all wouldn’t mind, I would like to speak to MC about this myself,” Diavolo spoke and rose form his chair. Everyone remained silent as he left. Quickly, he was at their door and knocked, waiting patiently.
The door opened and MC looked up at him in shock. “Diavolo? Come in!” They moved to the side and watched as he stepped in the room. “Is everything okay?”
“Yes,” Diavolo spoke. He worked on forming his words. “I have a proposition for you. Or rather, we all have a proposition for you. You have been instrumental in forging a better relationship between the three realms, and I don’t think I could ever properly thank you for doing so. Even if I did, it would take forever.”
MC shook their head. “I really didn’t do anything.”
Diavolo chuckled. “Yes, you did everything and more.” With one hand he took one of MC’s and with the other he cupped their cheek. “You are incredible MC. Not just as an exchange student, but you have an incredible soul. I want to be selfish and force you to be here with me forever, but that wouldn’t be fair to you.”
MC tilted their head. “Why do you keep mentioning forever?”
Diavolo closed his eyes and leaned in towards them. “Solomon would be able to make you immortal, if you so choose. That choice is your own.”
Barbatos
He was silent for a moment, waiting to see if his lord would get up. However, a moment was too long and he quickly stepped forward. “If you don’t mind, I would like to speak to MC about this. I’ve already seen the paths that they may pick and would like them to be informed as to what awaits them.”
“Barbatos,” Lucifer started, but was cut off by the butler.
“I am no longer permitted to use my powers. This will solely be MC’s choice. You have my word.” With that, the butler quickly excused himself and found himself before MC’s door. Standing up straight, he knocked on the door and waited.
“Barbatos?” their voice sounded and snapped him from his thoughts.
“Hello, MC,” Barbatos started. “May I speak to you?”
“Of course!” MC stepped to the side and allowed him in. “What is it?”
Barbatos took their hand and led them to their bed. He had them sit before he kneeled before them. “There are many choices you may make, but there are two major ones for right now,” he spoke softly. “The first choice is that nothing changes. You live the happiest life we could ever provide you. For us, it would be short. And when the time came, we would mourn for you – for thousands of years to come. We would be happy that we could make you happy, but the loss would always be painful.”
MC’s eyebrows furrowed together in confusion. They watched as a sad smile played on his lips. “Barbatos?” they questioned and took his hands.
Barbatos took a deep breath to stop the stinging in his eyes. “Another choice, we help you become immortal. For a while, things will continue on as normal. Then, your loved ones in the human realm will fade away as you remain the same. We will be there for you and support you through the pain. It will take a while for you to heal from the losses you would experience.” He squeezed their hand and gazed into their eyes. “But I will do everything in my power to ensure your happiness, forever. My love for you would never waiver. But no matter what you decide, I will support you. We all will.”
Simeon
“May I speak to MC about this?” Simeon questioned. He watched Lucifer before he nodded. With a grateful smile, he quickly exited the room. Once MC permitted him entrance, he made his way to the desk they were studying at. He hesitated for a moment before sitting in a seat next to them.
“What’s going on, Simeon?” they asked and looked up from their text book.
He reached on the desk and placed his hand over theirs. “Lately, I’ve had to make a lot of difficult choices. At least they were choices that should have been difficult for me. When I did make them, it wasn’t. I did whatever I thought would help you or be best for you, even if I shouldn’t have done that as an angel.”
MC smiled softly at him. They turned their hand over and squeezed his. “I know. Thank you, Simeon.”
He returned the smile. “I wouldn’t change anything about what I’ve done.” He gazed down at their hands before his eyes fluttered back to theirs. “I wish I could make this decision easier for you, but now I’m afraid you’ll have a difficult choice to make. I’ll be here for you, let you talk it out, rant about it, give you my opinion, but it’s going to be your decision.”
MC tilted their head. “Decision about what?”
“Solomon can make you immortal, if you so choose.”
Solomon
“I know what it’s like to make this decision. I’ve dealt with the consequences. Please let me talk to MC.” Mammon opened his mouth to protest, but quickly shut it when Lucifer shot him a glare. He nodded to the other human and let Solomon leave.
He tried to even his breathing as he made his way to MC’s room. His cloak flowed behind him. With a small knock, he turned the handle to their room and peaked inside. “MC?” he questioned softly. “Do you have a moment?”
MC looked up from where they were reading a book on their bed. They sat up straight and patted the space next to them. They frowned when they saw the look of conflict on Solomon’s face. Shutting their book and putting it to the side, they turned to him as he took a hesitant seat.
“What is it?”
Solomon looked down at their hand and gently took them. “Being immortal isn’t easy,” his voice came out just above a whisper.
“I know,” MC squeezed his hands. “I know I don’t know what it’s like, but I know it can’t be easy. But I’m glad that I was able to meet you because of it.”
Solomon laughed lightly and squeezed their hands. “I am, too. I would go through all of this again because I met you, no other reason.” He looked up into their eyes. “But there aren’t many things in having an immortal life worth living. You are one of the only things I have that makes it all worth it.”
He took a deep breath and leaned to rest his forehead against theirs. “I want to be selfish and tell you that you should become immortal, but I don’t want you to go through all of the pain I did.” He furrowed his eyebrows together as he thought. “But if you decide to become immortal, you’ll have something I didn’t. You’ll have all of us to help you get through everything. You’ll have me – forever.”
I couldn't find an official answer on what order the brothers fell in. I think they probably just fell in age order, but honestly I don't like that answer, so here's my headcannon.
--
1. Lucifer
I think this is obvious, he was the one who originally went against their father. He's the leader, of course he was going to fall first.
When Lilith fell, he was so full of anger, so full of sadness, and so full of a desperate need to protect his baby sister that he couldn't help but fall after her.
He'd never be able to forgive their father for the pain he put his family through, leaving the celestial realm was his final direct act of rebellion.
A part of him didn't want his brothers to follow him, they all shouldn't be punished for his insubordination, but he knew they would. It seems, things were always destined to turn out this way.
2. Satan
This was more of a birth than a fall.
As Lucifer fell, the wrath building up inside him finally reached a point of no return and burst forth, giving us Satan.
He wasn't so much scared as he was completely disorientated.
There were ghosts of memories that didn't belong to him in his head, the wind rushing around him as he made his descent, and a white hot pit of emotion settled deep in his chest.
He was furious, he was falling, and he didn't understand why.
3. Mammon
Mammon was always going to follow right after Lucifer.
He greatly looked up to his only older brother, he joined the war without hesitation, and there was no way he'd stay in the celestial realm without him.
Of course, another part of his reflexive fall was Lilith, and the desperate need to protect her and be with her again.
But, mostly, there was no way he could live without Lucifer. Mammon would follow him to the edge of the universe, Lucifer didn't even have to ask.
4. Beelzebub & Belphegor
Technically, Beel fell slightly before Belphie, but that's only because Belphie pushed him.
Belphie was so angry at Beel for saving him instead of Lilith, filled with such intense emotions, he could do nothing but attack his big brother.
And, of course, Beel let him.
He couldn't save them both, he should have been able to save them both, so he deserved to be punished.
When Belphie delivered the final shove, he watched for a split second as Beel entered the freefall, before diving after him.
Maybe it was Beel's fault that Lilith was gone, maybe it was Belphie's, but there was no way they were going to lose another member of their family. They had to be together forever.
5. Asmodeus
He was the Jewel of the heavens, beloved by all who saw him. Could he really give that all up?
Asmo hesitated for a few moments, scared of what he'd become should he fall.
But he could be the most beautiful being in the universe, and it wouldn't mean a damn thing if the people who he loved most weren't there to admire him.
He took one last look at himself, reflected in the calm water before him. His white wings shone in the sun, his halo sparkled brilliantly.
Maybe he'd never be so beautiful again, but as Asmo fell forward, for just a moment, he found he didn't really care.
6. Leviathan
They all left without him. Levi fought till the last second, and they left without him.
If they could fall without ensuring he came along, would they even miss him if he decided to stay?
He always felt a bit like an outsider: Lucifer and Mammon had each other, Beel, Belphie, and Lilith were a team of three, and Asmo had the hearts of all who encountered him.
But Levi? He was alone in this world in a way none of his brothers were.
Envy surged through him like never before, and he realized he didn't have much of a choice.
These were not the emotions of an angel, so he was going to fall, whether his brothers needed him or not.
