Comic - What Were We Thinking? by MacTheWriter

Ever since me and Easarix had that discussion about our past embarrassment, I always though about what it would look like it if our characters, both old and new, would have discussed something similar to each other. Even our characters (Grey Shujaa, at the left, and Beatrix Aekae, on the right) had an embarrassing past as Sanic teh Hegehog fan characters, though that's not what they were talking about in the comic panel. Looking at how my character Grey has evolved for the best, alongside Easarix's character Beatrix, it reminds me a lot on the development I noticed with a lot of different Sonic fan characters I've seen. Hell, a great example of that would be ZiyoLing's Sonic fan character Sash Lilac. The name sounds familiar? It's because she actually appear as the main character of Freedom Planet I shit you not: a Sonic fan character became a popular indie game protagonist. She was originally going to keep her Sanic-y design, but to give herself some distinguishing features from Sanic Hegehog, one of the key developers of the game SpacemanStriferedesigned her with the help of R-no71 to make her not only different, but more suitable to the game's environment. Yes, Lilac went from this to that! It's amazing to think about it, and it's honestly relatable to how me and Easarix, alongside my other friends, went through with their characters. Having a lot of love for our characters, we want them to evolve, to break free from their shells that is the Sanic (or other franchise) fan character designs, and give their own unique stories to tell to a lot of people. It's just that most of us had to suffer from stupidity before making very creative and amazing shit, and I'd be lying if I said I didn't went in that phaze once in my life. But you know, stuffs change, and we learn from our past mistakes, even big ones. The reason why I'm also including Easarix's character Beatrix is because not only did her character also received a lot of changes like Grey, but we both learned from some of the most embarrassing things we did in our lives, and went on to not repeat the same mistakes, while still thinking outside the box. So yeah, hope you enjoy my comic. A big shoutout to Easarix and make sure you go ahead and watch her and fave her works. GODDAMN, DID THE BURN EFFECT REALLY MADE IT LOOK CHEAP AS FUCK. Oh well, I just wanted to post something after being seemingly abscent with my drawing-posting shit. Anywho, for those who followed one of my very old account, you might recognize this character here, Nebula GearGirl. This is a redesign I made based on a Sketchbook drawing for my college assignment. I can't believe that it'll end in only a few weeks from now. Essentially, I redesigned her not just in terms of design, but in terms of profile as well. Since I always accidentally draw her as a guy 75% of the time, I decided to make her genderfluid, meaning she, or they, can feel like either a boy or a girl. Generally, their pronoun is "they/them/themselve", but they don't mind being referred to as he or she. They aren't overly offended by anyone giving them the wrong pronoun (unlike a certain site that is run by crazy transtrenders *coughcough*Tumblr*coughcough*), so any pronouns will do for them. Several worldbuilding and originality aspects were also given to Nebula, but seeing how it's almost midnight where I am, I'll go into more details later. So, for now, I'll just post it and go to bed. Fun fact: Nebula is the first character I created who is considered genderfluid, meaning they aren't male or female. Generally, I would give a character a specific gender, but with Nebula, I went with genderfluid to allow audiences, both men and women, to connect with them better. At least it's more realistic than going with ridiculous "pronouns" like ze/zer/zerself or whatever the hell else there is on the butthole of Hell that is Tumblr. But oh well. This one's for you, @space-for-thoughts​.

Guardians Among Us: A Pokemon Diamond Nuzlocke Story

Welp, guys, here I am working on a Nuzlocke run I just recently finished. It’s a heavily story-driven run with the exploration of religion, human spirits, corruption, greed, friendship, family, and other topic that may be deemed “controversial” in today’s society.

The story centers around a young man named Lucas Churchill who, despite not wanting to, became a Pokemon Trainer for the very first time. Starting off the journey with a Turtwig named George, he has discovered a whole new world he already knew, discovering many new friends and enemies, building up to become the very best, and experience the importance of responsibility and humanity. Meanwhile, he was watched over by one of the three Guardians named Azelf, who wanted to thank him personally in the right time and return the favour that Lucas’ father gave to him. But it’s hard for Azelf, seeing how he feels nervous towards humans for his families’ views on them, and how Lucas had to deal with a terrorist group named Team Galactic, led by the sinister Cyrus, who wanted to unleash Arceus to kill all humans on Earth.

Detailed Personality: Virtua can best be described as an “orange”. When the orange looks fine, she’s a laid-back, down-to-earth robot who would do anything to help her friends and families. She’s creative and loves to draw, even taking lessons in an art class hosted by Jeff (reference to the character from Earthbound) to hone her skill as an artist. She’s very expressive, and won’t hesitate to show how she feels. She’s protective of her friends and families and would defend them whenever they’re in danger. And she can adapt very easily to certain new situations. However, when the orange is crushed and the juice is spilled, she tends to go too far on her emotions. She’s extremely sensitive to even the most minor things. She tends to want to hang out with people she cares for a little too much. She can get mad or anxious very easily when irritated. But perhaps her biggest weakness is her insecurity. That’s what makes her a big target for people like Stitch, Mega Genesis and Destruct-O-Man: she tends to feel lost without any guidance, not to mention the fact that she doesn’t want to lose any friends at all. She also tends to feel unsure about others, even those she cares for, because of her insecurity, which Stitch takes advantage of that. Despite those negative traits, Virtua is a very optimistic heroine of the A.I.R. Army, who’s willing to help those in need, and just have fun while doing that.

Who popped the question? So far, none. Though Virtua is the one to have the idea of popping up the question in mind.

Sexual Relationship? Not yet, since X-Man wanted their relationship to build slowly due to his shyness.

Where did they met? At the Yuji Mountain National Park.

How did they hit it off? They accidentally bumped into each other while Virtua was awed by Mount Fuji, to the point that she blindly bumped into X-Man. Although X-Man was a little too shy to talk to Virtua properly, Virtua immediately loved him because of his muscular build and his shyness contrasting against each other.

Who popped the question? None so far. Again, X-Man preferred their relationship to slowly build itself upward rather than rushing things immediately, which was a problem with Virtua’s former relationship with Indigo.

Hobby: Play video games; listening to Techno music; relaxing; strolling in parks; hanging with her friends; date with Indigo.

Talents: Drawing cartoons; knowing certain martial arts, mostly for her duty as an A.I.R. Soldier.

Ability/Power (if any): Her arms can transform into arm cannons; her foot and a jetpack built into her back can help her fly; her eyes can flash onto her enemies to blind them temporarily.

Strengths: She has super-strength, typical of Hanafuda Robots; she’s surprisingly a skilled robot, even though she doesn’t think so herself.

Weaknesses: Whenever stressed or angered, she has trouble controlling it and focusing on what she should do; because of her eyes being able to blind people, she tends to accidentally blind her friends or families; ever since the incidence in 1995, she is technically colorblind, in which she can only see shades of red and black; she is very, very insecure, which can make her easily manipulated.

Religion: Although not religious at all, she does believe that there is something out in space, watching over the universe to ensure stability.

Backstory

Virtua was first “born” in July 21st of 1995 by late inventor Dr. Yokoi (she was then named Virtual Girl), and was intended to be a part of Hanafuda’s line-up of PrimeBots. However, while everything went as normally expected at first, a glitch accidentally occurred to Virtual Girl that caused her Main CPU to corrupt, which was caused by Stitch. When that happened, she started to violently blind people by flashing her eyes red towards them, and shot many A.I.R. Soldiers who tried to stop her. At one point, the workers finally shut Virtual Girl down, and she was stored away to Hanafuda’s addict for more than 30 years, never to see the light again. During that time, Stitch completely lost control of Virtual Girl, and was stuck in her body for the remainder of his life.

In the year 20XX, when Dr. Iwata was recently hired, he entered the attic to see some of Hanafuda’s failed projects to learn a few things, when he came across the defunct body of Virtual Girl. He asked Dr. Miyamoto about it, and he asked to his mentor if he could try to rebuild her. Though Miyamoto was doubtful at first, he ended up allowing him to do so anyways. So in his house in Hirohito, he reprogrammed Virtual Girl to fix the glitch that caused her to commit the mass assault back in 1995. After fixing her, she became a completely different robot, and she was renamed to Virtua.

With Dr. Iwata and her brother Rob, Virtua was greeted to Dr. Miyamoto, Sergeant Fils-Aime and the many PrimeBots at Hanafuda Corporation. Among the PrimeBots is a female robot named Indigo who fell in love with Virtua. After a few weeks, Virtua ended up accepting Indigo as her girlfriend, and they seem to have a good relationship at first. They visited restaurants, took strolls around parks, “did the do” at Indigo’s house, and so forth. They had a pretty strong relationship.

While Virtua got along really well with all the PrimeBots, especially Indigo and Polygon-64, the former employer of Hanafuda’s once-arch rival Rosen Enterprise named Dr. Stolar (now Destruct-O-Man) ended up stealing all the PrimeBots from Rosen Enterprise and reprogrammed them to target Hanafuda and its employees and PrimeBots to finish the job that Rosen refused to do. So when Hanafuda’s Robot Soldiers and PrimeBots struggled to fight against Rosen’s PrimeBots, Virtua ended up joining the fight, and with her help, Hanafuda managed to defeat the PrimeBots from Destruct-O-Man… for now. Whenever Destruct-O-Man is at it again, Virtua won’t hesitate to stop him from his evil schemes.

Despite things going well at first, even against Destruct-O-Man, things took a turn for the worse for our beloved heroine when a glitch named Stitch appeared in her consciousness. Since he took advantage of her because of her insecurity, he forced her to do a lot of awful things. But, by far, her biggest mistake from following Stitch’s order is breaking the heart of Indigo, when she almost killed Indigo when Stitch lied to her that Indigo was taking advantage of their relationship for her own “personal plans” as he puts it.

Humiliated, she broke up with Indigo. After being saved by Polygon-64 and Dr. Iwata from being beaten to death by a group of thugs, she started to consume alcohol and drugs for a while, hoping that these would somehow make Stitch go away from her consciousness, albeit to no avail. Even with her friends’ help, which also includes Indigo, she lived a rather poor life with depression under her belt.

At one point, her brother Rob suggested to Virtua to take a stroll around the Yuji Mountain National Park to try to fight her depression. She did just that, though it didn’t helped as much. When she was about to give up and go back home, she accidentally bumped into X-Man, a muscular PrimeBot who’s tough on the outside, but very soft on the inside. Falling in love with him at first sight, she wanted to meet him on other occasions to learn more about him. X-Man, while hesitant at first, kind of agreed, but wanted the relationship to build slowly, since he didn’t like rushing through things. Since then, Virtua managed to found a new love, which Indigo wasn’t very pleased of the idea.

Since then, she managed to defeat her depression, stop consuming alcohol and drugs, and move on with her life. Lots of things happened during that time: Destruct-O-Man kept trying to take over Dragonet Island, but was constantly defeated by Virtua and the Hanafuda PrimeBots; Virtua met some new friends, like X-Man’s colleagues of Gateway Enterprise, Tronica-360 and OneDrive; she applied to art class to learn new lessons about drawing; she spent time with X-Man, and sometimes had Indigo flirt with her, even though they are just friends; she fought against Stitch’s manipulations enough so that she controls him now; and so on, so forth. So far, everything is just the way it should be for Virtua.
