Averles Eternal Intro Post
Hello, hello, hello party people of this webbed site!
I am a student who is about to undergo the arduous task of making an indie game demo over the next semester of school, and want to bring y'all along for the journey! As a brief intro to both myself and the game concept, I'm making this post.
Averles Eternal is a post-apocalyptic fantasy world where the gods brought about mass destruction, many with the intention to destroy humanity to prevent them from progressing into an industrial age, the rest in a failed attempt to stop those gods from succeeding. It tackles themes of death, but places much more of an emphasis on humanity's will to survive, with the people that you meet doing their best to thrive despite the harsh landscape and grueling celestial curses that are spreading across the land of Averles. If you are looking for a fantasy game that is inclusive and representative of people of color and members of the queer, trans, and disabled communities, then this may be the game for you.
I, the creator, am an animation student, and this will be my concentration work to serve as the capstone of two years of artistic studies. My goal over the semester I have is to create a working proof of concept for this game that will be released on Steam for free. I will work alongside my teacher to learn the necessary skills and alongside my peers to help with parts of the production that I am not suited for, like voice-acting, music, and getting an outside eye on the script.
I hope that anyone that sees this and is interested will hop along for the journey or keep this game in the back of their mind as it develops! More posts to come in the future!
Feel free to follow me on instagram (@averles_eternal) for more updates, too.
