It seems far out of the blue when a voice comes calling out to you. Even more so when the speaker steps out. He’s certainly a vampire, perhaps even an elder by his looks and dress, but his posture is timid and his voice uncertain. Yet, he still walks up to you, putting on a smile and polite bow.

“Hello! Um, would you happen to know the name of this . . . fine place? I think I’ve gotten lost.”

Avid takes a second just to observe the stranger, a respectful amount of course. He speaks with a slight smile, a little louder than intended but nonetheless trying not scare him.

"Hi, yeah I do! We're in Oakhurst."

He smiles, nodding along.

“Wonderful! That tells me nothing.”

With a laugh, he continues, fidgeting with his collar.

“Um, my name’s Tango. You’re . . . ?”

"Nice to meet you! I'm Avid."

Avid mindlessly fidgets with his tail, winding it around his finger. He tries to think of a better way to explain where they are, but truthfully he never was the best at directions.

"Where are you trying to go?"

He briefly looks at the other’s tail, but makes no note about it. No noise, no face. Nothing. Instead, he shifts quick back to the next question.

“It’s a true pleasure to meet you, Avid. As for where I’m going! . . . I’m still figuring that out.”

Avid tilts his head to the side, both a sign of confusion and a way to avoid eye contact - was he staring too much? he hoped not.

"How can you know you're lost if you don't know where you're going?"

The truth is, he’s not staring too much, and Tango is completely oblivious to the fact, anyways. He cracks a fond smile at the demon’s question, putting his hands on his hips and acting as though he’s quoting Shakespeare.

“Well, as a friend of mine, Scar, once said: ‘you can get lost just about anywhere as long as you’re confused enough,’ and in my case, I’m thoroughly confused.”

Avid can't help but giggle a little at that, momentarily letting go of his tail as it slowly starts to wag. He gives Tango a slightly lopsided grin while beginning to fidget with his hands now that he'd dropped his tail.

"This 'Scar' sounds like quite the character, he makes a good point though. But I'm afraid I don't know how to help then."

As oblivious as he is, he’s grown accustomed to noticing the little ticks people have, and so he searches through his coat before pulling out a flickering light.

“Ah . . . here! Take it, it’s uh, a puzzle. You twist it around. There’s not really a solution, but I’ve found it nice when I’m . . . um, y’know.”

He gestures widely with his hands, only to end up focusing back on the other with a goofy looking smile. Always thinking, that one. At the mention of Scar, he perks up.

“Oh, you don’t know the half of it! I mean, there’s him, and then there’s Gem, and holy, she’s terrifying. Um . . . then there’s Skizz! And Joel! They’re the newest Hermits, and they are just- strange. Joel particularly. But in a good way! And- . . . I’m talking too much, okay!”

He laughs, shoving his hands in his pockets as the light that briefly appeared in his eyes while he was ranting dims again to its regular shade. Though, it was grand to watch while he yapped. Seemed almost like an excited flame.

“Help, uhh . . . is there a place I could stay? Just while I get my head together, of course!”

Avid happily accepts the puzzle, he seems to plenty understand what Tango means. He gives a small "thank you" by the time he's already begun fidgeting with it. He continues smiling in turn.

He listens happily to his slight touching on several of his friends, or at least that's what Avid assumes they are. It is a slight comfort to notice that he seems nervous too.

"Hermits...? Like shut-ins?" He tilts his head to the side again, briefly mentioning it before trying to address his question.

"Well, there's the coven! I'm sure they wouldn't mind, and there's the rest of the town but they're a bit...wary? of new people. But I'm sure Scott wouldn't mind much! Actually the only one in the coven who might is Owen but he's just a bit grumpy."

He pauses at the question of being called “Hermits.” Frankly, it’s a bit hard to explain.

“Yes? But also, no? I mean, okay . . . Chef was definitely a Hermit. Keralis, Doc, and X could all be called Hermits. But, like, then you have Grian who is practically everywhere all of the time! Same with Gem and Scar . . . even Pearl is often out-and-about! I- so, the funny part is, I guess I could also be considered a Hermit. They all like to tease me about not getting out much in the past few years. Which, they’re right, but I’ve been busy and-“

Tango immediately shuts up at the mention of Scott. Scott? Like, Jimmy’s Scott? Like . . . ruler of Chromia, Scott?

“Scott? What do you mean, Scott? Blue-hair, sassy attitude, Scott? ‘You’re doing great, sweetheart!’ Scott? Widow’s curse, Scott? That one? He’s here?”

The explain does little to ease his confusion, though once he hears "Pearl" he smiles a bit more.

"I know a Pearl kind of like that too! She wanders about a lot, though Cleo keeps track of her a lot now."

Avid's tail starts to wag a little more at the tslk of Scott, he was a simple man after all.

"That sounds like him! Though he doesn't like to talk about the blue hair thing, and I don't know who Jimmy is."

His face seems to go through a wave of emotions, and his mind is rapidly searching for conclusions that he just can’t seem to find.

“Okay . . . okay, great! So, similar Scotts, similar Pearls . . . oh! Similar Cleos, too. Um, oh what about Martyn?! He’s teamed with Scott! Admittedly it didn’t always work out well, that curse and all, but they both won in the end. Actually! Speaking of Martyn! Is Ren here? If Ren’s here, maybe Doc is, too, and if Doc is here, then he’ll for sure know how to get home!”

Through a bit more of his ranting, he pauses, smile faltering ever so slightly.

“Why doesn’t he like to talk about his blue hair? A- And has he never said anything about Jimmy? I mean, those two . . . jeez.”

Avid nearly jumps as Tango lists more people he knows, his tail raising up to fall into an almost question mark like arch.

"Yeah! Martyn and Ren are both some of the townfolk. I can't see Martyn and Scott ever teaming up though, unless it was in a 'they're both nobles way,' but I'm pretty Martyn isn't actually a noble if I'm honest. Curse? Do you mean Ren's curse? Or Scott's whole long, forced nap curse thing? Doc? Do you mean Doctor Legundo? I don't think he even knows where his home outside of Oakhurst used to be."

He stops to briefly question who this Jimmy is, mostly likely and old friend or lover - he was sure Scott had many of both.

"Well he just regrets dying it before turning since now he's stuck with it. And I guess he hasn't really talked about his past much period."

He raises a brow, laughing a bit at Avid’s tail and his rapid-fire questions and responses back. Almost immediately he begins again.

“Oh, no, no! Not really in a ‘ooh look we’re fancy’ kind of way! Never! No, the Martyn and Scott I know teamed up because they both had an oceanic theme. Called themselves the ‘MeanGills’ which is actually quite cute. And- um, forget I said anything about a curse! I don’t know who Doctor Legundo is, but that’s not my Doc! He’s, uh, a monster-goat hybrid? He’s a tinkerer like me! Much better a complicated contraptions, though.”

A smile crosses his face as Avid talks more about Scott. This demon sure does seem infatuated with the other. That’s good, he thinks to himself. Scott deserves to be loved, curse and all.

“I guess I can see where he’s coming from, though I never had an experience like that with my hair . . . he’s not very open all the time! I guess I forgot. Mysterious and charming as he is.”

Avid is far too interested in hearing about, possibly, Scott's past - and of course trying to figure out how Tango knows so many folk in Oakhurst too when he's certain none of them had ever met before now.

"Really? I don't even think my Scott likes the ocean - I mean even if he did it would be hard for him to enjoy it without burning. I really can't see Martyn teaming with Scott like that, maybe Ren but never Scott. I could also see him doing that with with Mr.M I guess. Monster-goat hybrid? No that's definitely not the doc, he's very human. I think. Owen hasn't turned him yet last I checked, but he does keep trying. Do you know Shelby? Drift maybe? Oo- Or Apo?"

Avid simply nods. Scott certainly was mysterious and oh so charming, the most charming man he'd ever met in fact.

"He certainly is." Is all he could say, and even then he couldn't help the slight blush that crosses his face.

“Ren and Martyn have teamed! Never seen and Scott, though. Ren was ‘The Red King’ for a while . . . still holds that title, I think, and Martyn is his hand! Uh, knight, I guess. I have no idea who Mr. M or Apo or Shelby or Drift are, but they all sound lovely! And this Owen sounds like quite the troublemaker. Reminds me of Grian. A Watcher, that one . . . “

A chuckle escapes from him when he notices the other blush. He’s never been all too close to Scott, not like Jimmy, but ever since they teamed, he seemed to get closer to the man. Perhaps that’s why he always seemed in step with the other. Or maybe it’s the passing of the Canary Curse. You never can tell; curses love company.

“I’m glad he has you.”

"That makes sense! They're quite close, they formed the militia with Mr.M and Apo, best team work the town really had. King? I can't see Ren as a king, he's much too...I don't know how to explain it, he's just not very king-ly I guess. Yes, they are! Especially Shelby and Drift. Owen watches a lot too! He lurks a lot, he's very dark and brooding."

Avid smiles along, slightly beginning to talk with his hands as he goes along.

“Oh, the militia! That does sound like something they’d help create! Believe it or not, Ren actually is a king more often than really anyone else! It’s a bit odd, but you just roll with it. You certainly seem to be close with many of the folks in town, or at least familiar with them . . . I’d be curious to meet this Owen! He sounds like an interesting man.”

He giggles a bit at the other’s small ‘thank you,’ giving an overdramatic bow in return.

"Really? He's much more reserved than I'd assume a normal king is. He's a bit strange though so many I could see it. Yeah, I spent most my time in town before, well being turned really. I'd say you could but Owen's very...not fond? of new people. He still doesn't like me - though he just kind of hates me in general so."

Avid can't help but giggle to at his bowing, his tail wagging slightly harder for a moment or two.

He grins, hair seemingly lighting up for a split second before he brushes a hand through it and the light dims.

“Ah, yeah, Ren can be that way. He’s just got to be comfortable around people! He’s a wonderful friend once you can get him out of his shell.”

It’s practically out of habit that his focus shifts to anything moving. It’s a good habit for redstone and such, but as soon as it happens in a conversation, it becomes a bit of a problem. So he shakes his head and forcibly moves his eyes from Avid’s tail to his face.

“I’m sorry to hear that about Owen! Some people . . . maybe he’s more like Evil X then! Or Hels! In any case, sounds like he could use a stern talking to!”

Avid's eyes flick up to Tango's hair before he forces them back to his face - it's rude to stare, and he looks far more peculiar.

"I guess that's why Martyn likes him so much, I didn't get the chance to get super close to him, really I only got really close to Drift and Shelby."

Avid barely noticed him staring at his tail, he was too caught up in talking.

"Owen needs a bit more than that - trust me the doc has tried and failed plenty of times. He more needs to be put in a cage if anything - which I did try but people stopped me. He's kind of like a feral wet cat."

He sighs, again running a hand through his hair, though this time, as his hand falls from his hair, several pearly white rods rise in its place, slowly beginning to circle his head.

“Jeez, you’re making me miss my versions of these guys at home! I don’t mind, though, really you can keep talking! Hell, you can introduce me to this Owen guy and I’ll try to mess with him a bit. They don’t call me the dungeon master at home for nothing!”

"Ah, sorry, I can only imagine how much youu miss them. Are you trying to get back to them?"

Avid laughs a little at the thought of him messing with Owen.

"Owen's fun to mess with, it usually ends poorly for me - and most people really. Although he only almost actually killed me one time, so I consider that a win! But, what does dungeon master mean? Do you hang around a lot of dungeons...?"

“Yes! I’d love to get back to them, it’s just tricky business. A-And yeah, I do hang around dungeons! Perhaps a bit too often. I actually build them. I’ve built two and I would be working on my third one right about now, but . . .”

He gestures widely, as if to make a point.

“I don’t mind, though. Gives me a break.”

"Three? Like recently? That must be tiring! Oakhurst is...Well definitely a break from that. We have some things similar to dungeons but not quite - including one very big crypt where the coven usually sleeps! It's nice down there, even if it has some, uh- off putting decorations? I swear none of the skulls are new!"

He can't help but stare, respectfully of course, at the almost crown, it's pretty and shiny and he likes staring at shiny things.

"I'm sure it's stressful being so far from home though..."

“It’s gonna feel hot, but I swear it’s safe to touch!”

“Yeah, it can be tiring for sure! But it’s something I enjoy. These crypts sound nice . . . wouldn’t mind sleeping in one right about now.”

Avid stares at the rod another moment. He's not scared it will hurt him, if anything he's more scared that he'll somehow break it - or maybe corrupt it, he doesn't know how hut the fear is still there. Slowly, still mesmerized by the shininess, he moves to touch it. Strange.

"They're nice to sleep in! We have both beds and coffins down there, whichever you like better, and I think there's a spare room! If not I'm sure most of the other vamps wouldn't mind, we don't actually sleep most of the time. Owen might but he's just like a feral, territorial cat."

He lurks a lot, he's very dark and brooding."

Avid smiles along, slightly beginning to talk with his hands as he goes along.

“Oh, the militia! That does sound like something they’d help create! Believe it or not, Ren actually is a king more often than really anyone else! It’s a bit odd, but you just roll with it. You certainly seem to be close with many of the folks in town, or at least familiar with them . . . I’d be curious to meet this Owen! He sounds like an interesting man.”

He giggles a bit at the other’s small ‘thank you,’ giving an overdramatic bow in return.

"Really? He's much more reserved than I'd assume a normal king is. He's a bit strange though so many I could see it. Yeah, I spent most my time in town before, well being turned really. I'd say you could but Owen's very...not fond? of new people. He still doesn't like me - though he just kind of hates me in general so."

Avid can't help but giggle to at his bowing, his tail wagging slightly harder for a moment or two.

He grins, hair seemingly lighting up for a split second before he brushes a hand through it and the light dims.

“Ah, yeah, Ren can be that way. He’s just got to be comfortable around people! He’s a wonderful friend once you can get him out of his shell.”

It’s practically out of habit that his focus shifts to anything moving. It’s a good habit for redstone and such, but as soon as it happens in a conversation, it becomes a bit of a problem. So he shakes his head and forcibly moves his eyes from Avid’s tail to his face.

“I’m sorry to hear that about Owen! Some people . . . maybe he’s more like Evil X then! Or Hels! In any case, sounds like he could use a stern talking to!”

Avid's eyes flick up to Tango's hair before he forces them back to his face - it's rude to stare, and he looks far more peculiar.

"I guess that's why Martyn likes him so much, I didn't get the chance to get super close to him, really I only got really close to Drift and Shelby."

Avid barely noticed him staring at his tail, he was too caught up in talking.

"Owen needs a bit more than that - trust me the doc has tried and failed plenty of times. He more needs to be put in a cage if anything - which I did try but people stopped me. He's kind of like a feral wet cat."

He sighs, again running a hand through his hair, though this time, as his hand falls from his hair, several pearly white rods rise in its place, slowly beginning to circle his head.

“Jeez, you’re making me miss my versions of these guys at home! I don’t mind, though, really you can keep talking! Hell, you can introduce me to this Owen guy and I’ll try to mess with him a bit. They don’t call me the dungeon master at home for nothing!”

"Ah, sorry, I can only imagine how much youu miss them. Are you trying to get back to them?"

Avid laughs a little at the thought of him messing with Owen.

"Owen's fun to mess with, it usually ends poorly for me - and most people really. Although he only almost actually killed me one time, so I consider that a win! But, what does dungeon master mean? Do you hang around a lot of dungeons...?"

“Yes! I’d love to get back to them, it’s just tricky business. A-And yeah, I do hang around dungeons! Perhaps a bit too often. I actually build them. I’ve built two and I would be working on my third one right about now, but . . .”

He gestures widely, as if to make a point.

“I don’t mind, though. Gives me a break.”

"Three? Like recently? That must be tiring! Oakhurst is...Well definitely a break from that. We have some things similar to dungeons but not quite - including one very big crypt where the coven usually sleeps! It's nice down there, even if it has some, uh- off putting decorations? I swear none of the skulls are new!"

He can't help but stare, respectfully of course, at the almost crown, it's pretty and shiny and he likes staring at shiny things.

"I'm sure it's stressful being so far from home though..."

He can’t help but laugh, staring back in turn before carefully plucking a rod from his crown to hold out for the other.

“It’s gonna feel hot, but I swear it’s safe to touch!”

In the meantime, he continues speaking.

“Yeah, it can be tiring for sure! But it’s something I enjoy. These crypts sound nice . . . wouldn’t mind sleeping in one right about now.”

Avid stares at the rod another moment. He's not scared it will hurt him, if anything he's more scared that he'll somehow break it - or maybe corrupt it, he doesn't know how hut the fear is still there. Slowly, still mesmerized by the shininess, he moves to touch it. Strange.

"They're nice to sleep in! We have both beds and coffins down there, whichever you like better, and I think there's a spare room! If not I'm sure most of the other vamps wouldn't mind, we don't actually sleep most of the time. Owen might but he's just like a feral, territorial cat."

It seems far out of the blue when a voice comes calling out to you. Even more so when the speaker steps out. He’s certainly a vampire, perhaps even an elder by his looks and dress, but his posture is timid and his voice uncertain. Yet, he still walks up to you, putting on a smile and polite bow.

“Hello! Um, would you happen to know the name of this . . . fine place? I think I’ve gotten lost.”

Avid takes a second just to observe the stranger, a respectful amount of course. He speaks with a slight smile, a little louder than intended but nonetheless trying not scare him.

"Hi, yeah I do! We're in Oakhurst."

“Wonderful! That tells me nothing.”

With a laugh, he continues, fidgeting with his collar.

“Um, my name’s Tango. You’re . . . ?”

Avid mindlessly fidgets with his tail, winding it around his finger. He tries to think of a better way to explain where they are, but truthfully he never was the best at directions.

“It’s a true pleasure to meet you, Avid. As for where I’m going! . . . I’m still figuring that out.”

Avid tilts his head to the side, both a sign of confusion and a way to avoid eye contact - was he staring too much? he hoped not.

"How can you know you're lost if you don't know where you're going?"

The truth is, he’s not staring too much, and Tango is completely oblivious to the fact, anyways. He cracks a fond smile at the demon’s question, putting his hands on his hips and acting as though he’s quoting Shakespeare.

“Well, as a friend of mine, Scar, once said: ‘you can get lost just about anywhere as long as you’re confused enough,’ and in my case, I’m thoroughly confused.”

Avid can't help but giggle a little at that, momentarily letting go of his tail as it slowly starts to wag. He gives Tango a slightly lopsided grin while beginning to fidget with his hands now that he'd dropped his tail.

"This 'Scar' sounds like quite the character, he makes a good point though. But I'm afraid I don't know how to help then."

As oblivious as he is, he’s grown accustomed to noticing the little ticks people have, and so he searches through his coat before pulling out a flickering light.

“Ah . . . here! Take it, it’s uh, a puzzle. You twist it around. There’s not really a solution, but I’ve found it nice when I’m . . . um, y’know.”

He gestures widely with his hands, only to end up focusing back on the other with a goofy looking smile. Always thinking, that one. At the mention of Scar, he perks up.

“Oh, you don’t know the half of it! I mean, there’s him, and then there’s Gem, and holy, she’s terrifying. Um . . . then there’s Skizz! And Joel! They’re the newest Hermits, and they are just- strange. Joel particularly. But in a good way! And- . . . I’m talking too much, okay!”

He laughs, shoving his hands in his pockets as the light that briefly appeared in his eyes while he was ranting dims again to its regular shade. Though, it was grand to watch while he yapped. Seemed almost like an excited flame.

“Help, uhh . . . is there a place I could stay? Just while I get my head together, of course!”

Avid happily accepts the puzzle, he seems to plenty understand what Tango means. He gives a small "thank you" by the time he's already begun fidgeting with it. He continues smiling in turn.

He listens happily to his slight touching on several of his friends, or at least that's what Avid assumes they are. It is a slight comfort to notice that he seems nervous too.

"Hermits...? Like shut-ins?" He tilts his head to the side again, briefly mentioning it before trying to address his question.

"Well, there's the coven! I'm sure they wouldn't mind, and there's the rest of the town but they're a bit...wary? of new people. But I'm sure Scott wouldn't mind much! Actually the only one in the coven who might is Owen but he's just a bit grumpy."

He pauses at the question of being called “Hermits.” Frankly, it’s a bit hard to explain.

“Yes? But also, no? I mean, okay . . . Chef was definitely a Hermit. Keralis, Doc, and X could all be called Hermits. But, like, then you have Grian who is practically everywhere all of the time! Same with Gem and Scar . . . even Pearl is often out-and-about! I- so, the funny part is, I guess I could also be considered a Hermit. They all like to tease me about not getting out much in the past few years. Which, they’re right, but I’ve been busy and-“

Tango immediately shuts up at the mention of Scott. Scott? Like, Jimmy’s Scott? Like . . . ruler of Chromia, Scott?

“Scott? What do you mean, Scott? Blue-hair, sassy attitude, Scott? ‘You’re doing great, sweetheart!’ Scott? Widow’s curse, Scott? That one? He’s here?”

"I know a Pearl kind of like that too! She wanders about a lot, though Cleo keeps track of her a lot now."

"That sounds like him! Though he doesn't like to talk about the blue hair thing, and I don't know who Jimmy is."

His face seems to go through a wave of emotions, and his mind is rapidly searching for conclusions that he just can’t seem to find.

“Okay . . . okay, great! So, similar Scotts, similar Pearls . . . oh! Similar Cleos, too. Um, oh what about Martyn?! He’s teamed with Scott! Admittedly it didn’t always work out well, that curse and all, but they both won in the end. Actually! Speaking of Martyn! Is Ren here? If Ren’s here, maybe Doc is, too, and if Doc is here, then he’ll for sure know how to get home!”

Through a bit more of his ranting, he pauses, smile faltering ever so slightly.

“Why doesn’t he like to talk about his blue hair? A- And has he never said anything about Jimmy? I mean, those two . . . jeez.”

Avid nearly jumps as Tango lists more people he knows, his tail raising up to fall into an almost question mark like arch.

"Yeah! Martyn and Ren are both some of the townfolk. I can't see Martyn and Scott ever teaming up though, unless it was in a 'they're both nobles way,' but I'm pretty Martyn isn't actually a noble if I'm honest. Curse? Do you mean Ren's curse? Or Scott's whole long, forced nap curse thing? Doc? Do you mean Doctor Legundo? I don't think he even knows where his home outside of Oakhurst used to be."

He stops to briefly question who this Jimmy is, mostly likely and old friend or lover - he was sure Scott had many of both.

"Well he just regrets dying it before turning since now he's stuck with it. And I guess he hasn't really talked about his past much period."

Called themselves the ‘MeanGills’ which is actually quite cute. And- um, forget I said anything about a curse! I don’t know who Doctor Legundo is, but that’s not my Doc! He’s, uh, a monster-goat hybrid? He’s a tinkerer like me! Much better a complicated contraptions, though.”

A smile crosses his face as Avid talks more about Scott. This demon sure does seem infatuated with the other. That’s good, he thinks to himself. Scott deserves to be loved, curse and all.

“I guess I can see where he’s coming from, though I never had an experience like that with my hair . . . he’s not very open all the time! I guess I forgot. Mysterious and charming as he is.”

He stops to briefly question who this Jimmy is, mostly likely and old friend or lover - he was sure Scott had many of both.

"Well he just regrets dying it before turning since now he's stuck with it. And I guess he hasn't really talked about his past much period."

Called themselves the ‘MeanGills’ which is actually quite cute. And- um, forget I said anything about a curse! I don’t know who Doctor Legundo is, but that’s not my Doc! He’s, uh, a monster-goat hybrid? He’s a tinkerer like me! Much better a complicated contraptions, though.”

A smile crosses his face as Avid talks more about Scott. This demon sure does seem infatuated with the other. That’s good, he thinks to himself. Scott deserves to be loved, curse and all.

It seems far out of the blue when a voice comes calling out to you. Even more so when the speaker steps out. He’s certainly a vampire, perhaps even an elder by his looks and dress, but his posture is timid and his voice uncertain. Yet, he still walks up to you, putting on a smile and polite bow.

“Hello! Um, would you happen to know the name of this . . . fine place? I think I’ve gotten lost.”

Avid takes a second just to observe the stranger, a respectful amount of course. He speaks with a slight smile, a little louder than intended but nonetheless trying not scare him.

"Hi, yeah I do! We're in Oakhurst."

With a laugh, he continues, fidgeting with his collar.

“Oh, you don’t know the half of it! I mean, there’s him, and then there’s Gem, and holy, she’s terrifying. Um . . . then there’s Skizz! And Joel! They’re the newest Hermits, and they are just- strange. Joel particularly. But in a good way! And- . . . I’m talking too much, okay!”

He laughs, shoving his hands in his pockets as the light that briefly appeared in his eyes while he was ranting dims again to its regular shade. Though, it was grand to watch while he yapped. Seemed almost like an excited flame.

“Help, uhh . . . is there a place I could stay? Just while I get my head together, of course!”

"Well, there's the coven! I'm sure they wouldn't mind, and there's the rest of the town but they're a bit...wary? of new people. But I'm sure Scott wouldn't mind much! Actually the only one in the coven who might is Owen but he's just a bit grumpy."

He stops to briefly question who this Jimmy is, mostly likely and old friend or lover - he was sure Scott had many of both.

"Well he just regrets dying it before turning since now he's stuck with it. And I guess he hasn't really talked about his past much period."

Called themselves the ‘MeanGills’ which is actually quite cute. And- um, forget I said anything about a curse! I don’t know who Doctor Legundo is, but that’s not my Doc! He’s, uh, a monster-goat hybrid? He’s a tinkerer like me! Much better a complicated contraptions, though.”

A smile crosses his face as Avid talks more about Scott. This demon sure does seem infatuated with the other. That’s good, he thinks to himself. Scott deserves to be loved, curse and all.

“Oh, you don’t know the half of it! I mean, there’s him, and then there’s Gem, and holy, she’s terrifying. Um . . . then there’s Skizz! And Joel! They’re the newest Hermits, and they are just- strange. Joel particularly. But in a good way! And- . . . I’m talking too much, okay!”

He laughs, shoving his hands in his pockets as the light that briefly appeared in his eyes while he was ranting dims again to its regular shade. Though, it was grand to watch while he yapped. Seemed almost like an excited flame.

“Help, uhh . . . is there a place I could stay? Just while I get my head together, of course!”

He gestures widely with his hands, only to end up focusing back on the other with a goofy looking smile. Always thinking, that one. At the mention of Scar, he perks up.

“Oh, you don’t know the half of it! I mean, there’s him, and then there’s Gem, and holy, she’s terrifying. Um . . . then there’s Skizz! And Joel! They’re the newest Hermits, and they are just- strange. Joel particularly. But in a good way! And- . . . I’m talking too much, okay!”

He laughs, shoving his hands in his pockets as the light that briefly appeared in his eyes while he was ranting dims again to its regular shade. Though, it was grand to watch while he yapped. Seemed almost like an excited flame.

“Help, uhh . . . is there a place I could stay? Just while I get my head together, of course!”

“It’s a true pleasure to meet you, Avid. As for where I’m going! . . . I’m still figuring that out.”

Avid tilts his head to the side, both a sign of confusion and a way to avoid eye contact - was he staring too much? he hoped not.

"How can you know you're lost if you don't know where you're going?"

The truth is, he’s not staring too much, and Tango is completely oblivious to the fact, anyways. He cracks a fond smile at the demon’s question, putting his hands on his hips and acting as though he’s quoting Shakespeare.

“Well, as a friend of mine, Scar, once said: ‘you can get lost just about anywhere as long as you’re confused enough,’ and in my case, I’m thoroughly confused.”

Avid can't help but giggle a little at that, momentarily letting go of his tail as it slowly starts to wag. He gives Tango a slightly lopsided grin while beginning to fidget with his hands now that he'd dropped his tail.

"This 'Scar' sounds like quite the character, he makes a good point though. But I'm afraid I don't know how to help then."

It seems far out of the blue when a voice comes calling out to you. Even more so when the speaker steps out. He’s certainly a vampire, perhaps even an elder by his looks and dress, but his posture is timid and his voice uncertain. Yet, he still walks up to you, putting on a smile and polite bow.

“Hello! Um, would you happen to know the name of this . . . fine place? I think I’ve gotten lost.”

Avid takes a second just to observe the stranger, a respectful amount of course. He speaks with a slight smile, a little louder than intended but nonetheless trying not scare him.

"Hi, yeah I do! We're in Oakhurst."

He smiles, nodding along.

“Wonderful! That tells me nothing.”

With a laugh, he continues, fidgeting with his collar.

“Um, my name’s Tango. You’re . . . ?”

"Where are you trying to go?"
