“My knickers are just fine,” Avigail replied, eyes narrowed only slightly, “I was just in no mood to go to the ball itself so you can imagine how uninterested I am in hearing about it.”

In truth, Avigail hadn’t done much that night other than stew in her own thoughts, but Esperanza Burke did not need to hear about her problems, “I spent some time on the Quidditch pitch----much preferable, I think, to the drama that would’ve come along with a dance even without the love potion.” She took a moment to pause, before asking, “I hope you, at least, avoided that?”

Avigail hadn’t had many qualms about missing the ball, and that was before her housemates had returned with tales of all the disastrous things that had happened. Altogether, it was a job well done that she’d decided not to go, but she did wish people would stop talking about it already. “No,” She answered for what felt like the hundredth time, “I wasn’t there---quite luckily, too, since it didn’t seem to be a very good time.”

Avigail let out a groan of frustration, wiping quickly at her forehead and leaving a smear of dirt in the process, “Remind me again why I choose to continue on with NEWT Herbology?”
