“Hm? Oh. No, it’s fine.”
“Well, that’s good then.”
“You do seem like the type of girl who can take care of herself.”

It was bright and early when she headed towards the train station for work. Saya had allowed her younger brother to borrow her car for the day for a job interview (which she was sure a lie for an excuse to get the car in the first place). She hadn’t been on the train in awhile, so the odds of this being the right one were rather slim.
She glanced over to the side, pausing when she caught sight of the tall man next to her. “Excuse me. Do you know which train is coming next?”
The weekend was over, which meant Yuuka was back with his mother and he was free from the arguments--from both his son and his ex-wife. Hands tucked in his pockets, he didn’t expect for someone to speak to him. And if anything, it was a woman. A pretty woman. Turning to face her fully, he replied, “Yeah, it’s the blue train, which means it’s heading towards Yokahoma.”
“Why? Where’re you headed?”

Quietly… taps on his shoulder.
“Nii-san—… Did your book get bad reviews?”
“AH! KOHAKU!”
Yurika was very excited. Just a few months ago she had accidentally stumbled across one of her favored manga artists, and now she actually had the opportunity to meet one of her favorite authors. It was as though life was suddenly presenting her with all these chances to meet people she admired. With her luck, she would some day get to meet her favorite actor as well. But how would she act around him of all people? No. More importantly, how would she act now when she would meet Nakano-sensei?
When she finally reached the bookstore, she took a few moments to get a hold of her nerves, clutching tightly onto the book (her favorite by him) in her hands before stepping inside and slowly making her way over to the table. She was surprised at how empty it was, but those thoughts were soon pushed away once he addressed her.
"A-Ah, yes I’m here for the book signing." Yurika set the book down on the table, smiling at the other. "I’m a very big fan of your work!"
The girl looked like she was going to burst at any moment. A mixture of enthusiasm and nervousness radiated off of her, and it was kind of amusing. His lips twitched into a smile automatically at hers. It’d been at least a half an hour since a customer came in for a signing--it’d been a bit packed earlier, but soon cleared out since he wasn’t in the mood for conversation. His smile widened a bit when she spoke, so she was nervous.
“Really? Thanks.” It wasn’t the first time he’d heard that and it probably wouldn’t be the last, but it always made him happy to know people actually enjoyed his writing. “Means a lot to hear that.” He took the book, flipping it over to read the familiar words--his words--and then back to the cover. With that, he opened it, and while he scribbled down his signature, he glanced up at her, “You want me to make it out to anyone?”
Daichi could feel his irriation swelling at the notion of someone going through his sketchbook without his permission. Normally, he tended to be pretty secretive about his drawings; not that he was ashamed of them by any means, but because they were private.
That and, it was totally weird to have so many sketches of his best friend, right?
Right.
And so, when the other turned one of aforementioned pieces towards him, he glared, jaw setting. He would have appreciated the compliment much more had it been on any other page.
❝None of yer business, that’s who.❞ Maybe he was a bit too defensive. He scowled some more. ❝…Kinda gotta be if I wanna tattoo some day, so thanks.❞
Well, he seemed oddly defensive of that. Of his drawings or the person, no telling, but just like the kid said, it was none of Daisuke’s business. So with a shrug of his shoulder, he turned fully towards him, “You gotta real talent.”
“Some day, huh? What do you do now, if you don’t mind me asking?” It was an open question--the other male wasn’t obligated to answer it, after all. But on the other hand, Daisuke was rather curious. It’d been awhile since he’d seen any real good artists.
”… Nii-san, are you okay?”
Too busy pacing back and forth.
"Oh. Nowhere. Actually, I’m lost."
“Eh?”
“Lost? You need any help?”
Wonders why there’s screaming from the living room…
