my mind and senses jolts back from its oridnary state to adrenaline-like speed

leaving my body and sight in its slow, bird’s eye view, first person shooter kind of angle

I have always been a fan of John Mayer’s songs and lyrics. His lines speak about life in its truest forms without losing great melody and tune. I remember during our stay in Thailand, my friend and teammate Michael played this song while we were preparing for the last day (if i’m not mistaken) of shoot for our film. I was standing outside the door, waiting for our van to arrive, smoking my first cigarette and admiring the beauty of the land of smiles and at the same time starting to detest the heat of the arriving noon. I asked him if he regretted choosing this film contest over school, and he said he did not; he can catch up with all the lectures and with the rest of whatever school has in store for him. Take note, he is already taking up his elective, and is still a regular. He was one of the three batch mates of mine who have not yet failed even a single subject. He is also one of the wittiest and the most intelligent in our group of friends. We won the award for an international film contest. But he failed his subjects. And I, on the other hand, failed because I never attended my class even once. But we still achieved our dreams. Fuck school.

But now I wonder, did he regret picking a film contest over grades? I guess not. I also get asked a lot about the paths I have traversed. And I shifted from another course when I was close to graduating, my grades weren’t always that status worthy, but the experience and fun I got from crossing and living on the other side of the line when everyone else told me not to are worth remembering. I almost never wanted to go back. But still...

I need my fucking degree hahahah
