As if it was yesterday

Sometimes I feel like society often intends to make us forget the real worth of life, and how precious time can be.

Nothing exists without its opposite.

The lightest days can’t exist without the darkest.

There’s no Sun without the Moon.

And Extraordinary can’t be anything without Average.

Last night was short. Way too short.

But nothing in my lame existence had ever felt like that before.

Now all I can do is cry, of gratitude, joy, reminiscing the previous events.

And I still can’t find any words to describe the beauty of that moment.

Human body is definitely not built to handle such perfection.

I’m lost, but at least I have something more to cherish.

Memories, faces, eyes and sensations, lingering peacefully in the back of my mind, our crazy laughs and banters swirling wild among the rest of my thoughts.

Chapter 2

"- My name's Hau, by the way, what's yours?" The man asked, making the raven-haired girl flinch one more time, realising she was staring at him for too long, since she could notice the bag of malasadas already half empty.

"- Oh-...Moon, nice to meet you." She answered hesitantly, before smiling back at him.

"- Moon? Sounds amazing, can I ask you what you were reading?" He added

"- Pokemon as psychological beings, by professor Juniper, you know it?" The dark haired girl replied, lifting her book to show its cover.

"- Oh, you're a student in psychology or something?" Hau said in astonishment, looking at the book cover, which wasn't heavily decorated. The title was written on the center, in dark capital letter on a plain creamy beige background.

"- No, I'm a part time worker in research, though I've always been passionate about it." Moon explained, chuckling a bit at Hau's startled gaze toward her. "And so you're a pokemon trainer, aren't you?" she pursued, looking once again at his z-bracelet around his wrist.

"- Yeah, my biggest dream is to surpass my grandfather, and prove him I can become the next Kahuna of Mele-Mele Island, I'll do anything to get there." Hau answered, his proud innocent smile still showing on his face.

Moon, in her case, couldn't prevent her jaw from gapping, eyes widened after his last sentence.

"- Wait, Hala is your grandfather?" She said out loud, before putting her hand on her mouth, realizing she's probably overreacting.

"- Yes, what's so surprising?" The dark green-haired man asked in a chuckle, slightly amused by Moon's reaction.

"- He once visited my boss in the lab I work in, he brought us precious stones found in Ten Carat Hill's cave that were never seen before, to analyze them, and I worked on it, I didn't know it was a request from him until he came back to thank us personally. I was almost intimidated by the humbleness he showed that day." The girl answered in a quite enthusiastic tone, a soft grin showing on her lips.

"- Grandpa's kindness makes people unable to refuse anything to him. I always admired how he got respect from others without using any sort of pressure or violence." Hau added, smiling at Moon's words. "I've spent my entire life with him, but it still impresses me every single time I observe the way he acts."

Explanations for my slow updates:

A short list of things I think everyone should try or do at least once in their life that will make you feel more alive. Not all of these are applicable to every person, but it’s a summary:

Take a dance class of any style with a semi-serious instructor for at least 4 classes worth

Write a work of fiction, of *any* length and *any* quality

Learn a least a bit of a language that isn’t your native one. You don’t need to become anywhere near fluent, but try and get a bit beyond yes, no, and where’s the bathroom. If you’re from a country where most people are bilingual already, that doesn’t count! Get bits of a language with which you are truly unfamiliar.

In the same vein, make peace with subtitles and start consuming music, TV and movies from cultures that aren’t your own. If your country imports large amounts of media from a specific other culture or cultures (American movies in foreign markets, for example) that also doesn’t count! Get some feelers out to begin to take in content from a culture that you don’t already have a lot of knowledge of.

Try at least one less common/less “exercisey” and more fun type of physical exercise such as roller blading or roller or ice skating, gymnastics, trampoline, rock climbing, aerial silks, pole dancing, surfing, etc

Learn a hobby or craft that produces a physical finished product and produce a single, complete object - regardless of quality - that you can hold in your hands and say that you made.

Look up a how it’s made video or YouTube video on how an item that’s interesting or relevant to you is made

Give one type of thing - media, hobby, sport, whatever - that you’ve never been interested in or never tried because of some preconceived perception an honest shot and see if your perception was correct. Sometimes it won’t be, sometimes it will be, but it’s valuable to know.

I recently started to write a ff story about Gladion (Pokemon sun and moon), I know there’s no more hype about him since the season is over but it’s still a character that I appreciate a lot, and that I find beautifully written. It’s also probably the only reason I kinda miss 2016-
