Mizuki comes to the conclusion relatively swiftly after meeting Mohn some sort of connection must exist between him, Gladion, and Lillie ("He's got Kalosian fry bangs exactly like that edgy guy on Route 5... Now I want some salty seasoned Kalosian fries... With spicy ketchup. Or maybe hot mustard...").

However, her assumption is that he's their uncle rather than their father, and similarly to the siblings, he fled from Aether Paradise following Lusamine's demeanor taking a turn for the worst and chose to live the bean life!

And she continues subscribing to this belief up until sometime shortly after the Necrozma Incident. Since Gladion assists Mizuki in the battle against Ultra Necrozma, The Ultra Recon Squad repays his efforts by searching for Mohn across Ultra Space.

When Gladion tells Mizuki of this, with growing hope in his heart they may at least be capable of providing an answer as to what became of his and Lillie's father, he at last refers to him by name - Mohn. No one at Aether Foundation does so anymore. Everyone refrains from it due to Lusamine instantly flying into hysterics at the mere mention of her missing husband's name.

Gladion's entire body tenses, then relaxes when he recalls his mother isn't present. And Mizuki would notice the abrupt change in posture were she not experiencing an internal crisis.

Mizuki: ...What did you say your dad's name is again? Gladion: Mohn. Professor Mohn. ... ... ...Why are you staring at me like that? Mizuki: *inhales deeply, exhales, then claps both her hands onto his shoulders* Gladion my man, how prepared are you right now to receive information that will permanently alter your life?
