So a lot of people rebloged my Bodi Rook cross stitch and on Friday at celebration I was able to give it to Riz Ahmed! 

 It was a rocky start, the area I had to go to was behind the shift mass that was the photo-op… crowd? And I fell into an anxiety attack. A friend happen to find me and get me to calm down. With her help she was able to get me through to the front of the line.

The staff with him were just so good and kind. They saw my gift and gushed over it, and took a photo of me holding it. I was told no photographs with him and no personalized autographs and I was fine with that. So I’m next and Riz is just exuding joy and kindness. He see’s my gift and just is so excited about it. He can’t believe I made it and shows it to his handlers going “Look! I’m the pilot! I’m the pilot.” And he looks to me and says it again “I’m the pilot.” I’m like “You’re the pilot!” He asks his handlers to take a picture of him holding it. Then he tells me he’s going to hang it up in his room. It feels all so surreal. He clasps my hands, thanking me, kissing them and I just… like I’m feel so much more at ease. 

Then he takes the photo I have for an autograph and he says “I want to put your name on this.” I stumble a bit because I was just told it wasn’t allowed but he wants to. He wants to do it and I must have done something to warrant it. I tell him my name, spelling it. “Oh with one ‘s’?” and I smile and nod dumbly as I watch him write. He tells me this is his first convention and he just so happy and excited!

I’m in such a daze. I think he blew kisses my way and commented on my hair and how he just saw another person with purple hair and my friend had purple hair and it was just such a great experience meeting him.

If you ever get the chance to, go meet him. He is just wonderful, kind, nice, and though he just super excited it eased me in that crazy environment.

Sorted out my stash a lil bit yesterday. Found a half-finished project I'd lost and fit almost everything back into the box. :)

Update: First test is done. I’m still debating whether they’re too big for a glove design, but we’ll see how it goes.

What about having one ‘eye’ on one glove, and the other ‘eye’ on the other glove? Admittedly, I’m not sure how that would look, but it’s worth suggesting.

(And if I may, what’s the program you did the chart in? I just used my preferred image-editing program, and made a graph there.)

@pomrania Yeah, no, one eye on each glove is exactly what I’m going for!

(This is just a quick sketch of the concept. I realise my previous posts weren’t that clear about what I’m actually making. I did the chart test with both charts side by side to make it easier and so I could visualise how they both look, not because I was putting both eyes on one glove)

The problem I’m having is that the individual 15x15 charts are just a lil bit too big for what I’m going for.

They take up almost the entire area of my hand, which might work out alright with the finished product, but my perfectionist design nature is telling me to make them smaller so they look better.

Oh well, time to do the exact same design but smaller, and this time I have a proper basis for it. Plus, this size seems like it would be perfect for an actual Kanan mask project so???

Overall, not a waste of time. 

(Bonus, spot the little tuft of dog fur in the photo above. He is trying to Sleep.)

Oh, and the program I use for chart design is called Stitch Fiddle, it’s the first thing that comes up when you google ‘online knitting chart’. I go to knitting design and then color knitting (Fair Isle) for mine.

flash update on the kanan design- i'm still testing out the chart and it's looking pretty good so far i still think they're gonna be too big for a glove design, but i'll see how the finished design looks before i make any decisions

They’re not quite there yet, but hopefully it’s not gonna be another paragon scenario where I agonise over it for days and days.
