She turned to look at the source of the voice, letting out a small laugh. “I’ve had plenty of that. Cringeworthy incidents that I’ve had to be part of? Not so much. I very much enjoyed being the observer at first,” she commented, knowing this was by far the weirdest way someone’s ever hit on her. She took a sip of her drink, finishing it off before signalling to the bartender to get them both two more. “Now that you’ve witnessed that, I have to know if you’ve ever had to endure something like that. Or something similar, whatever. Come on, make me feel better.”

Axel placed down his drink on the bar, laughing at the the thought of some of the pickup lines that had been used on him. “Okay, okay- since I’m such a nice person I’ll share some of my embarrassing stories.” He shook his head with a chuckle, taking a moment to think “Okay- I have one. I was at a Christmas work party last year and this girl comes up to me and says ‘If a fat man put you in a bag tonight, don’t worry- I told Santa I wanted you for Christmas’ .. yeah, I was a little bit scared.” Axel took another sip of his drink, finishing it off before the next round came.

“Listen, I’m flattered you took a long time to think of a line like that because it’s been an hour and I definitely caught you staring the whole time. The definition of subtle, I’d say,” she rolled her eyes at the man who’d attempted to hit on her at the bar using a verse from the bible. He’d earned a couple of laughs from both Evelyn and everyone sitting by the bar. She watched as he walked away, turning back to pick up her drink and take a long swig of it. Scoffing, she rambled to herself. “Yeah, right. Because ”‘Give drink to those who are thirsty, and feed the hungry’… how about dinner?“ doesn’t sound like you’re hitting on a homeless person. Take your charity somewhere else.”

Axel had been sitting at the bar a couple seats away from the girl when he saw the entire ordeal unfold before his eyes- even wincing slightly when the poor guy made his attempt at delivering the pick-up line- if you could even call it that. it was painful to watch, to say the least. Axel wasn’t sure who he felt more sorry for; the guy walking away, clearly mortified- or the girl who had to endure being on the receiving end of it. Once the bachelor who definitely needed to learn a thing or two about flirting had left, Axel got up and moved into the seat next to the brunette. “Well, that was easily the most cringeworthy incident I’ve had to witness since this trip began.” He admitted with a light chuckle, taking a swig of his drink.

How many days had it been since they’d arrived in Hawaii? Dalton doesn’t know. He was already drunk on the plane, and his state hadn’t change since. Making his way into yet another bar, Dalton noticed a familiar figure standing by and headed over. “Hey,” He nodded, shades on his face despite being inside. “So I woke up in a dumpster today. It’s crazy, Hawaii’s dumpsters are even nicer than the ones back home.”

Axel had completely given up on his original plan to not waste all of his money on alcohol before the trip had ended. He was waiting for his third- no fourth, or  was it fifth? He had lost count. He was waiting for his next drink to arrive. Axel was sitting on a barstool, head resting against the bartop as he let his arms fall down, dangling by his sides. He quickly sat up straight when he noticed someone approaching him- which gave him quite the head rush, he began blinking hard and rubbed his eyes to try and combat it. “Hello!” Axel beamed, delighted to have company. “A dumpster? Could you not afford a better motel than that- how much are they anyway; is there room service?” He asked, furrowing his eyebrows.

Essie doesn’t say anything when he sarcastically apologizes, she just rolls her eyes and takes the tissue off of him and starts to soak up the pain, feeling like a commoner as the minutes tick by. Of course, back at home she’d have staff to clean this up – at times, Essie actually missed the staff, but she wouldn’t dare tell anyone. “Yes, I’m sure you can use your tiny pee brain to figure out what I’m getting at.” Essie fires back with a sweet smile at him before ducking her head again and getting back to work, “How did you manage this anyway?”

Axel rolled his eyes at her ‘tiny bee brain’ dig, “You’re no fun,” he teased, continuing to scrub the floor with a paint soaked paper towel- the paint was starting to come off, slowly, but still. Axel let out a light chuckle “Well, turns out I’m awfully good at tripping over air.” He sighed, discarding the paper towel to the side and picking up a new one. He didn’t mind cleaning up the paint; he probably wouldn’t have been able to live with the guilt if he didn’t anyway. “So, anyway, are you doing anything later?”

Is it weird to want to know the smallest details about a person? Like what their favorite word is, or how they prefer to wake up in the morning. There’s something beautiful about obscure questions, because most people never ask and find out the answer. It’s like an inside joke, with no punchline. That’s not weird, right?

“I don’t think that’s weird at all, I mean- it might have sounded a bit like one of those fake-deep posts you see on the internet, but at the same time that was rather poetic. I think that those ‘little’ things can often tell a lot more about a person than anything else. Like if someone doesn’t take their tea with sugar you know that they’re probably a bitter monster.”

Paris frowned slightly when Axel said he wasn’t going to step in the paint. What could he have possibly expected from it though. The other male’s shoes were already dirty, but that didn’t mean he had to make it any worse. The pictures he got her enough to suit his creative mind. “Oh..That’s fine. I think I’ve gotten it anyways. I can help now..How’d it all end up like this?” He asked, clicking his camera off and putting it back safely in his bag before stepping over to help.

Axel let out a sigh of relief when Paris dropped the idea of him stepping back into the paint- but felt like a bit of an idiot at the same time, it was just some aesthetic picture; wouldn’t hurt anybody. Plus his shoes were already destroyed so there wasn’t much point in staying away from the paint. “I mean if you really wanted the photo I don’t mind.” Axel admitted “But yeah, I was just on my way to art class and I dropped paint pots and well.. I think you can see how that ended up.” He explained, gesturing towards the paint puddle and then his own ruined shoes.

On his way to meet with Kiera in the art building, Hunter had been too preoccupied with his phone to notice where he was walking, which was why he suddenly slipped when his foot hit the slick floor, twisting his ankle while he flailed wildly before regaining his balance. “Ow, motherfucker!” He swore under his breath as pain lanced up from his ankle when he hesitantly put his weight on his foot, steadying himself with a hand against the wall. Glancing down finally, he noticed the shards of glass strewn amongst the pool of paint, eyebrows knitting together as he realized it could’ve had worse than a twisted ankle. Looking up when he heard somebody speaking, he was already ready with something caustic on the tip of his tongue when his retort died on his lips, his angry expression melting when he actually noticed who had spoken. Quickly averting his eyes, he willed himself not to blush before clearing his throat. “Sure. I guess. Just let me-” he waved absently down at his leg, gesturing for the paper towels as he slowly got his knees with a slight wince. “So, this mess is your doing, then?” He berated himself for being so curt, moping up as much paint as he could to distract himself.

Axel winced when he saw how badly the other boy had hurt himself from slipping in the paint- “Oh my god, I am so sorry- honestly, are you alright?” He felt the urge to repeat saying I’m so sorry over and over a millions times- but didn’t want to come across as annoying. “Really, I- do you think you need like.. bandages? or something? Maybe you should sit down, rest your ankle?” Axel tried to suggest, taking a step closer to hand over the paper towels. He was about to respond regretfully with a ‘yes’ and another ten apologies- but before he could Hunter was already mopping up the paint. Axel felt even more guilty at this point; first he’s the cause of hurting this guys ankle and know the same guy is cleaning up his mess? “No- you really don’t have to do that, I mean- thank you. But I really think you need to sit down. You should probably try and take the pressure off of your ankle- just to make sure it’s okay, y’know?”
