Ok i wanna talk about my opinion and interpretation of Xiangliu from lego monkie kid

Warning: my opinion, I have never read Journey to the West (I need to rematch the series so if i have anything wrong im sorry), Cursing Spoilers for season 5

Ok here's how I see him

Morally Grey/Complex

I dont see him as evil, yes he's a cocky bitch but I dont see him as evil. He had a goal and did what he though was best to achieve that goal even if it hurt others. I also noticed he didnt attack the main group until they attacked. And he doesnt attack MK until he's triggered by his anger but he releases MK first and only MK, its clear he has some soft spot for MK even if he's shut at showing it.

He wanted MK to make his own choice and its clear he hates the concept of Destiny, which can connect to him saying "im tired of watching people put themselves in cages" so its clear that Destiny can be like a cage that people are trapped in and he wants to have people break free from the "cage". I know it might be obvious but I still wanted to point some things out.

2 other lines I noticed is "im done trying to be a hero" and when MK found a way to keep the world in order, Xiangliu point out if there was a way to keep the world from well dying I guess, then he would have done it. So he might have tried to stop the endless cycles and let the world continue but failed each time where he simply gave up.

Now yes he did attack MK thinking he was trapped in the realm hes been trapped in for cycles, but after pushing himself and MK into the pillar beam, seeing he's home he thanks MK and wants him of whatever is coming. And possibly gives him some power to be able to face whatever is coming.

But I hoped you enjoyed and if you disagree that's fine I just wanted to share what I saw and my opinion on him I also hope we get more of his character in season 6 cause 2 episodes isnt enough for this man
