Looking to buy damaged bjd

Hello Internet. I’m looking to buy a damaged, stained, or incomplete for the purpose of experimenting with modding. I would like to buy a body since this will only ever by a testing piece but heads work to. It just needs to be resin.

Face up questions!!!

Hello Internet I have a question for you!

I’m pricing and looking for face up supplies and I found a brand called Reeves at my local art store. (It has a dog on the label) Is this a good brand of chalk pastels for face ups? If you have worked on this please respond.

I have run out of shelf space for my dolls. Now they have to stay in their boxes. :(

Does anybody else hide their dolls in the refrigerator when they’re gone? It’s the only way I ever feel safe that they won’t be stolen.

My home was broken into in 2015 and they ripped everything apart in all of the rooms except my work room. At the time I had the dolls right in front of the door so they were the first thing you saw. 

Our guess was that they opened the door, saw the dolls, then closed the door, and moved on.

BJD 2017 plans

I want to try to be more creative this year. So this year I’m going to save my money and buy all the supplies I need for painting and modding dolls. 

Sewing projects:  - Everyone needs some clothes. I really want to make clothing that fits with their characters instead of buying clothes that might fit them.

Mod project: - Remove teeth from floating head - sculpt sets of new teeth with epoxy

There is not enough choice in 3-4 inch wigs ! As someone who loves tiny dolls, this is seriously frustrating. Especially male/boyish haircuts are like non-existant in this size, not even taking about fur wigs. And many wigs of this size are ill-fitting on top. I have so many that I simply cannot use because they look like shit. What makes me annoyed the most about this though is how companies who sell dolls with that wig size are not even offering a decent selection. WHY ?

THIS!!! I love tiny dolls but they are really hard to buy wigs for. I have started teaching myself to make wigs because of this exact thing.

To doll owners with pets… how tf do you keep the pet hair out of your photos?!

I have my work space gated off so that the pets can’t get in and keep the door closed when I’m not in the room. 

Also lint rollers. Lots and lots of lint rollers.

How do you store your doll patterns?

I just finished two patterns, a ruffled shirt and a blouse. I’m thinking plastic bags, but im not quite sure. How you store such small patterns??

Plastic bags would be a good idea. I went out and bought a box of those yellow envelopes with the brads on the flap. That way you can write on them and the pieces don’t get all staticy and stick to the bag. They also come in a size similar to store bought pattern envelopes so they are easy to store.

doll plan Tuesday

yep doll plan Tuesday! we haven’t had one in a while so let’s roll!

so to those new to this: i love hearing people talk about what dolls they plan to buy next, what mods they want to do, what clothes they are gonna get, what miniatures you plan to get your hands on and so on!

Current doll plan:

-Get body for my Ringdoll Kane head - mod his face so that his face scar is more pronounced  - get face up. Future doll plans:

- Purchase face up materials - learn to face up

Part of me really wants to buy 2 of the same doll and turn them into “The Light” and “The Dark” cards from Cardcaptor Sakura. I think it would be really cool for photo to have the same face but with opposite trappings. 

I also think part of me just likes thinking up ideas for dolls without actually doing anything to fulfill said ideas.

My prize head for winning the DoA face up contest arrived today, so exciting! 0_0  I only just realized this this fancy new blank head would make for a great opportunity on that whole live streaming a face up idea… So maybe later this week or this weekend I’ll set that up?

Currently it’s sounding like Twitch is the most recommended option, so I’ll try to figure out how to get that going and hopefully announce a date/time soon :)

I occasionally stream my art or sewing on Beam. I also work with a group stream on the same service. They are really good. I haven’t had any problems with lag for the audience and if there is any trouble the team at Beam are quick to get things sorted. There are many services where you can put your stream on both sites. So you might not have to choose between the two.

Does anyone happen to know how long Dollzone has been taking? I ordered six months ago, have they been taking longer than that?

When I have ordered from them in the past it took between 6-8 months. Although I always order from them when they hold events so that might effect my orders.

She is a fun loving, free spirit who likes video games and listening to her favorite bands while playing. I didn’t think that I would like the Yo-SD size but I’m so happy that she is part of my collection now. :)

It’s not that big of a deal. I don’t think anyone will have a problem with it. It just makes more work on my end.
