The only real good thing that came out of Veilguard was

1) Solavellan

2) All the new fics on AO3. The fans have literally done more justice to the characters than the actual fucking developers.

Let me tell you, when I say that the cast of companions are not bad, but they were mostly underutilized.

Its a good thing that the franchise belongs to the fans now, because I have read some wonderful fics.

I think the underwhelming nature of the game really helped to inspire people to write something better.

And I applaud those people for posting such wonderful things to read 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

The character concepts weren't bad at all but the writers didn't have the skill/experience/time (I suspect a combination of all three, given what I've seen on SM) to actually do anything with them.

The game story itself was also incredibly dull. I never felt any sense of urgency or threat, the villains were cartoony at best and the entire thing was just a classic baby "goodies fight baddies" story. It was like a fairy tale for kids, watered down for a picture book, then retold by a toddler to their baby nephew.
