*about white women* Her skin is as pure as snow and delicate as porcelain.
*about black women* Their skin is sensual chocolate, caramel and crafted from gold like goddesses.
See the difference?
To explain for people that don’t get it, this is an example of how black women are often described purely in sexual terms, or like food to be consumed, or in overly rarefied terms that remove humanity (the constant comparisons to goddesses and queens). In contrast to how white women are often described in a way that emphasizes their purity and/or beauty in a non-sexual way and allows them to preserve their humanity in a way that black women in media or fiction aren’t usually afforded.
“Omg you described a black person positively in a different way than a white person because they are different :((( thats racist dont you know :(((”
I don’t understand how chocolate, caramel, and gold are sexual? I’m so confused by this. People LOVE chocolate, caramel, and gold. How is this negative in any fucking way.
Hell, if anything, I’d be pleased. I’d rather be delicious chocolate and caramel along with a precious metal then frozen water and a material for artisans.
*compliments a black Woman beautifully*
“Uhhh racist”
You crackers don’t think that about us. You’re just being violent and have no respect for being told no or to not.
We are being violent? By expressing how a black Woman is beautiful? We have no respect for someone we are complimenting?
You are just looking for an excuse to be mad at something. Grow up
Just stop writing books with black people. Problem solved!
As if that’s a loss for me.
