Turning Tables | Nixon & Aurora
Aurora had barely set down the dishes in the sink when Nixon pulled her against him. When his lips met hers chills made their way all through her body, her heart began pounding instantly. Without realizing it, she rose to her tip toes, as she returned the kiss. It felt good to be kissing him, to her it felt right. She felt as though she could simply melt away in his arms. Aurora had her palms resting on his chest, and she'd been so into the kiss that she forgot to breathe. Just as the dizziness hit her, Nixon pulled back for air. He left her standing there breathless, her lips still tingling. Even though he was gone, she still smiled and giggled as if he were there to laugh along with her.
Her heart was still fluttering as she was finishing up the dishes. Rory was in a good mood, a better one than she had been in in quite some time. Sober, at least. She was even humming, something that she only did when she was in her happiest of moods. Her father always used to call her his little Hummingbird. She smiled remembering the nickname that she hadn't heard in quite some time. "And I swear when I first saw you, and talked to you, you gave me purpose with every single word you'd say. You took my breath away," She was singing now, completely unaware of her surroundings, getting lost in her own happy melody. "I am so high, I am never coming down. Because you're mine, you decided to stay, you decided to stay arou--" She jumped at the sound of Nixon's voice and whipped around staring at him wide eyed. She had her hand pressed over her heart as if she didn't hold onto it tight, it may beat right out of her chest. "Holy shit, Nix!" She said, bursting into laughter, "You scared me. Don't sneak up on me like that!" She giggled again and, wrapped her arms around his waist. "Something comfortable, I can do that. And maybe just like a disney movie for background noise while we talk?" She smiled to him, her eyes meeting his. "I'll be right back." This time, it was her turn to vanish. She walked out of the kitchen, kissing the corner of his mouth before she left.
As she stood in her closet, she bit on her thumb. "Comfortable...but cute. Maybe even sexy?" She mumbled quietly to herself. She rummaged through the hangers full of clothes-- yes, she hung her pajamas. A habit she picked up from her mother. She finally settled on a tank top with lace along the neckline, and a pair of black shorts. Not too sexy, not too lazy. It'd do the trick. She moved to the bathroom so Nixon could change, but also because she had primping that had to be done. She fixed her smeared makeup from the night, and tied her hair up in a high pony tail. After she brushed her teeth she even went as far as spraying the tiniest bit of perfume on her collarbones. Aurora shrugged at herself in the mirror and sighed. The longer she stood staring at herself, the more flaws she found, she had to get out of that bathroom otherwise she'd be in there for hours.
Aurora peeked her head out of the bathroom to make sure Nixon still wasn't in the bedroom. When she saw he wasn't, she tiptoed her way into the living room. Instantly, her eyes lit up. She smiled when she saw him, "What are you?" She asked excitedly, "A professional fort maker?" She practically skipped towards him, and kissed him quickly. "It's perfect." She murmured before nudging her nose against his.
