Another event flyer

I am an executive at one of the clubs here at the U of L and my role most of the time is to come up with flyers for our events and this time around i was given the chance to design a logo for our club.

Object : Apple Ipod

Never really gave it much thoughts but I've had this iPod for a very long time, not just cause it has most of my old songs and new included within it. But i also admire the overall design concept of it and its functions such as the controls underneath the screen and its screen display makes it easy for me to navigate through all my songs easily. Its also portable and smooth all around. “ I’m a lover of all things smooth”.

Another thing i find admire about this iPod is its durability, its fallen down numerous amount of times but the screen and buttons have barely been faulty at all compared to the newer versions of the Apple iPod.

‘How one Stupid Tweet Blew up Justine Sacco’s Life?’

I found the illustration of this article to be quite successful as it gives readers a break away from the long list of text, not only that the images match up with the story allowing readers to understand the meaning of the story by using simple lines and drawing to illustrate them. An example would be the Singled out bird surrounded by multiple birds used in illustrating Justine Sacco. As we could see from the article, she was once just a regular member of the community but due to her “Tweets” was singled out and hated by majority of people.

The tarred and feathered bird was also a good illustration as to it illustrated all the threats which she had been receiving from people she barely even knew and also the public humiliation which she had received

The author of this article is Andrew B. Myers. The images in the article match with his style of design as it involves the use of bright colours and also the creative use of negative spaces.

Title: Networks in Equity and sustainability

I personally enjoy interactive data visualization and i tat was my interest in this visual graph. Not only is it interactive but also well detailed with filter options that allow the user to filter searches continent wise and country wise, and navigate through the site with ease.

This graph show composite calculations for equity, sustainability, gender, development, and income all over the world and also shows links between each country according to their environmental performance index, Gender inequality index, Gross national income (per capita) e.t.c

Here is Dryden, i like this image because it captures him making a leading look. In order to make the image more compelling and to give it that dramatic look, i have changed the image into a black and white portrait and also cropped the picture making him the center of attention within the image.

In this portrait the main feature i wanted to emphasis was my sarcastic look. And i think the pose

helps me accomplish that as I'm staring straight into the camera looking at the audience.

Second Picture is was achieved by adjusting the colour using auto colour and contrast to tone down the heavy colours on my face.Also used the spot removal tool to remove the blemishes on my face.
