May the sweetness dry your tears This is an artwork of a focused Vehk attempting to comfort a distressed Ayem by feeding her honey/syrup, i wanted to focus on the relationship between Ayem and Vehk in my headcanons, the particular dynamic of Vehk acting both as crucial emotional support for her yet also like an enabler. I believe they often empathize with each other due to both of them feeling like they are inherently wrong/messed up since birth. They are both quite unstablem but react and cope with it in different ways. While being together cured some of their loneliness, they tend to spread unhealthy habits to each other aswell. Theres a lot of both negative and positive to say about their relationship, they did eventually drift apart and evolve in opposite ways when they reached godhood, but that is for another post.

The immediate fanfic ick I get when I read them dissing Almalexia in the story or making her out to be an awful villain (pre-Red Mountain occurrences)

i will forever view her as a powerful woman doing what she believed was best for her kingdom, and like Dagoth, she so often got excused for his insanity bc the heart, but she's so often just written as always evil <//3

Even if Ayem and Neht weren't lovers or the "political marriage" trope, they still knew each other dearly, and just like dagoth i feal her internal grief (plus added guilt) had a big hand (along with the heart) in driving her truly mad.

And her in-game comment, "My Nerevar, returned to me at last!" Please, they had something real.

I'm a heavy believer that all the ones driven mad by the heart have their real soul fighting the entire time, taking with her the comment of seeing him, and with Dagoth all his dreams, he sends the nerevine. And YES Neregoth till I DIE, but if you're unable to write Voryn and Nerevar being in love without tearing down Almalexia, you just can't write <//3

Voryn Dagoth on Solstheim after the whole Heart disaster. He hates the cold with a burning passion

He’s no god anymore but being under the influence of the heart for so long, his third eye and that of the other surviving ash vampires still exists

He survived the entire disaster because the Nerevarine never killed him. After the fight and the destruction of the heart, he was able to flee with three other ash vampires. They managed to get to Solstheim before everything went to shit.

Why did the Nerevarine not kill him? Well, a good question, and in our hc the Nerevarine is actually Voryns and Nerevars son that was born after Voryns reawakening as Dagoth Ur. In one of his few sane moments he gave the order to bring the child as far away as possible…but yeah…he came back.

🪻🪷🌹 some more of my first era Voryn Dagoth, designing his room was very fun. I got more comfortable with drawing interiors and i feel like its an improvement from my previous overly empty backgrounds, some stuff should still be worked on but its something, patterns are hard to work with and i spam too much metal close ups:

Crossroads

This one is about the contrast of beauty and pain, nerevars inner conflict of having to prioritize his goals of becoming king over his adoration of voryn, about nerevars past and why he does not want to be in love, his fear and trauma, about voryns dedication to nerevar and attempts to comfort him even when he does not understand him, the tenderness between them. The strip on the left is hard to understand if you dont know my headcanons, but it is supposed to be nerevars past "lover" I also just really wanted to draw nerevar in pearls, i usually portray him as quite a traditionally masculine character so i wanted to make something different this time. This artwork may look a bit different because i decided to use yet another different brush on this and the process was quite messy, i never did the lineart stage. I kind of dont like how messy the anatomy for nerevar is, atleast it always looks wrong to me, but whatever
