I'm old enough to remember seeing Star Wars when it first came out in the movie theaters in the 1970's! A very young person who fell in love with Harrison Ford playing Han Solo (eventually Indiana Jones).
I'd had a LOT of live action movie crushes, but never any animated ones EXCEPT Disneys Robin Hood Fox as a very little kid.
First and foremost my crushes are usually men who challenged authority and the status quo. Brave men, mouthy men, men with odd hobbies/sense of humor/the outcast/nerd/counter culture/defective but not toxically so.
After the original Star Wars trilogy, I had lost interest in the "Franchise" (teeth gritting moniker...yuk). Watched some content, but moved onto more heavy sci Fi especially where it interacts with horror or philosophy...or totally unhinged like 5th Element or Dark City.
Rogue One was my gateway back to Star Wars. Hubby suggested watching it. And I loved the scruffy rebels darker tale going up against this very seriously scary Empire. A main character doomed by the narrative.
Then hubby suggested watching The Bad Batch and it was all over from there.
Tech caught my eye first. The animators did it on purpose. HIS EYES. Expressive, well lit, always showing through his armor. I really do think originally the writers wanted him to be not just the brain but the soul of TBB. Even write it into the dialogue with Crosshair's remark about the squad dying with Tech. My crush on Tech was deep but non sexual.
Not sure WHAT took me so long to come around to REALLY noticing him. But A lot of my crushes are like that, even the ones on real life men.
I think when his relationship with Omega deepened in the middle to nearly the end of S2. HIS character development. And the slutty outfits with no armor covering his butt and thighs. It's that dancer/acrobat body for me. I like a man with curves and some body fat. Wreckers bod is pretty smokin too. But Hunters got that mystery to him. An enigma. Nice guy whose safe to be around, looks kinda dangerous on the outside, very capable of defending himself and will definitely do that for someone else. Committed, dependable, goal oriented, a bit of a doofus, tattooed, dark and broody (an emotional thinker, but still critical, with some smarts, mostly emotionally intelligent)...and that nose...I love a man with an unconventional nose. Very attractive to me. I'm not one to fall for someone CONVENTIONALLY attractive. Those button down , too clean cut, too straight laced guys freak me out. Too goody two shoes.
That brings me to Crosshair: AFTER him totally leaving the Empire. Although I do find some of his more problematic behavior harder to rectify. But the scarred, attempting to redeem himself Crosshair is attractive to me. The deep well of feeling he attempts to show. It is disarming and endearing, makes me wanna love the hurt away. But there are times he's too critical and unforgiving and that's a definite libido killer for me. On again off again attraction.
Hunter it is for me! I AM SO UNWELL ABOUT HIM!!! All of my Hunter fics written with my OC Mad are like love sonnets. It took me a LONG time to feel comfortable enough to admit that. I'm 55 years old and used to feel like a weirdo...maybe a bit deviant about my feelings for this made up man..who lives rent free daily in my head.
THANK YOU FOR EVERYONE WHO IS READING THIS AND ADDING YOUR OWN TAKE ON THE CLONES. I DON'T FEEL SO ALONE OR WRONG.
