On June 19, 1865, the enslaved African-Americans in Galveston, Texas, finally learned the news that they were a free people, nearly three years after President Lincoln had signed the Emancipation Proclamation.
On abc’s Blackish season 4 premiere, the The Roots give a perfect explanation of why we celebrate Juneteenth. 🇺🇸

Kimetsu no Yaiba Movie: Mugen Ressha-hen Bonus
I love this moment!! I LOVE IT!!! Because you’re right that it’s so goddamned extra and, like, is a big part of this just Rule of Cool that the movie wanted to show Vader at his most badass? Absolutely. And is it in part Vader’s style, showing off just how much excess power he has to waste on moments like this? Making a point of just how terrifying he is, how horrific that rebel’s last moments were, to drive home the absolute nightmare they were facing, that they were helpless in the face of Darth Vader? Also yes. Is Vader probably furious at these rebels for daring to stand in his way, because he has such fury for them for trying to stand against the Empire and the evil it represents? Yyyyyup. Is it that Vader is metaphorically rolling around in all the fear and horror and suffering that these Rebels are putting out into the air that a Level 500 Psychic Wizard is picking up on, like a cat rolling around in LSD-laced catnip? Yes in-fucking-deed. But is also that Anakin Skywalker is just really fucking extra, where he could have easily killed that guy a full thirty seconds earlier, but drew it out just because he’s a fucking asshole who likes the drama? That maybe Rebel #573 looked at him wrong or mentioned the Jedi or hell just thought about how “Fuck, I sure wish we had a Jedi here to stand up against this nightmare” and Vader, having absolutely zero boundaries from, like, the day he was born and certainly isn’t going to develop them now that his powers are 300 levels above where he started, reading Rebel #573′s thoughts and getting pissed off and is like OH FUCK YOU NOW I’M GOING TO MAKE YOU EXTRA DEAD IN A WAY THAT’S REALLY EMBARRASSING FOR YOU? 100% THAT IS ANAKIN SKYWALKER BEING FUCK AWFUL AS ALWAYS AND I LOVE HIM!!!!
