Jisung didn't know exactly when he'd started wearing the necklace, he had been just walking along the street past a busy flea market one day and felt a kind of pull towards something, and that feeling had taken him to a quiet stall, set towards the back of the market, run by an elderly woman with a kind smile. And then he spotted it. An ring, a simple silver band with a small but beautiful mother-of-pearl setting. His eyes were immediately drawn to it, like a kind of magnetism he wouldn't be able to escape even if he tried.
The ring now sat permanently on his chest, strung on a necklace so it sat right over his heart. He had only taken it off once, accidentally early on, and it had felt like a part of himself was missing. He fidgeted with it often when he got nervous, its familiar weight a comforting presence as he would run it over his fingers.
Now he was on the train heading home, head leaning back against the window, feeling the vibrations of the rails below him lull him into a half-asleep state, when he heard a subtle shift from his side. He cracked one eye open slightly and spotted the same dude who usually took the same train, occupying the same car but always keeping the same distance. He was quiet, mostly kept to himself with ear buds and his phone, they had exchanged pleasantries occasionally, but he still somehow hadn't found out the boy's name. He felt a desire to know, like some kind of invisible string was tying them together. Interestingly enough he always wore a ring that he also fidgeted with, not because he was watching him of course, he WASN'T, but it looked kind of similar to the one looped on Jisung's, he had never gotten close enough to tell. He'd never admit it out loud, but he was kinda pretty too, his dark eyes intense in a way that looked like they would cut right through him if he said something wrong, so he was intimidated. Jisung sighed as he heard the familiar announcement tone for his, well actually their, stop and collected his things accordingly, out of the corner he saw the other boy doing the same. He stood as the train slowed and came to a full stop, the doors hissing open and the familiar fresh breeze drifting through the cabin. Jisung took a nervous breath as he stepped off, tripping over his own feet, because of course he did, but before he could faceplant on the concrete he felt a warm arm loop around his waist and pull him back upright. He blushed scarlet red as he looked and saw it was the pretty boy again, and mumbled a sheepish, "thank you."
"Don't mention it." the raven-haired mumbled, and then walked off in the opposite direction quickly, leaving Jisung standing there confusedly.
