it really is annoying as hell how someone will talk about how poor people can't avoid ethically dubious products because of how being poor works and then someone with a two story house in the suburbs will take that to mean they can order harry potter books through a drone delivery from amazon and if you criticize that you're a bigot
This must feel so good to do as a seal
i feel like the rest of that tweet should be shown:
âRich kids should go to public schools. The mayor should ride the subway to work. When wealthy people get sick, they should be sent to public hospitals. Business executives should have to stand in the same airport security lines as everyone else. The very fact that people want to buy their way out of all of these experiences points to the reason why they shouldnât be able to. Private schools and private limos and private doctors and private security are all pressure release valves that eliminate the friction that would cause powerful people to call for all of these bad things to get better. The degree to which we allow the rich to insulate themselves from the unpleasant reality that others are forced to experience is directly related to how long that reality is allowed to stay unpleasant. When they are left with no other option, rich people will force improvement in public systems. Their public spirit will be infinitely less urgent when they are contemplating these things from afar than when they are sitting in a hot ER waiting room for six hours themselves.â

I am once again begging people to realize that AI checker doesnât work. itâs never worked. itâs notoriously known to have flagged human-made works as AI and AI-generated works as human-made. and by feeding it peopleâs works, you are feeding more works to AI, because apparently the machine itself is AI.
the only thing AI checker does is harm genuine artists and people in general too.

i think maybe everyone needs to get way more normal about irish art & media and irish people creating or even just existing in art/media cause i don't know how much longer i can see "hozier is a bog dwelling elven fae king and i don't listen to his political lyrics because i can't understand his mysterious forest king accent teehee" before i snap indefinitely. your fetishistic approach to irish art while simultaneously devaluing its messages and themes because you'd rather see it as your romanticised ideal of our culture is BORING. it happened to the banshees of inisherin on the "mental illness site" and maybe if they'd had southern england accents you'd have taken it seriously. it happened to DERRY GIRLS. derry girls. a show explicitly about irish catholicism, the troubles, life in derry in the 90s and female solidarity and you people dressed it up as some twee little mockery of itself. talk and talk about how strange the writing of finnegan's wake is and don't think critically about why james joyce, an irish man in 1939, would write a book in a confusing, dense style, with made up words with strange spellings. could this possibly be a commentary on the way the irish language has become jumbled and obscure? how it's become almost foreign to us? how for a long time it was an oral language and that didn't always translate to paper well? our art is "irish art" but simultaneously not allowed to be important art. it has to exist in that niche to marvel at but not take seriously. irish dance, trad music, celtic knots, claddagh rings, our poetry and literature and murals and paintings and our culture packed away into a neat stereotype. i see it and it irritates me endlessly.
anywayyy i will not be made to feel crazy or delusional for believing that people shouldnât have to earn their place in the world. that everybody should be afforded dignity, even beauty, and life, regardless if they have âworked hardâ or checked a box or not. regardless of who they are and where they are born. the laziest person in the world is not less deserving of happiness than the most hardworking person. deserving means nothing. free your mind of the idea of deserving and you will begin to be able to think!!
Drives me genuinely insane that kids-only spaces on the internet like Club Penguin were destroyed because companies realised that thereâs only so much profit you can squeeze out of children with no disposable income, so now kids are being forced into adult spaces on the internet where the profit model is to find the most viewers you can passively expose to ads that nobody is clicking on so all online media is slowly turning into Mr Beast Elsagate nightmares, and for adults this means giving your ID to companies owned by businessmen with Epstein connections to keep the kids âsafe.â Clown internet.
Itâs insane how every headline is like âCubas power grid collapsesâ as if itâs something passively happening out of the blue. As if it isnât the u.s. energy/oil blockade on Cuba causing this, as if it isnât the u.s. cutting off Venezuelaâs oil exports to Cuba, threatening others w punishment should they provide support to Cuba. But no the power grids just randomly collapsing no agent no nothing according to these headlines and articles. & perhaps theyâll make the very astute observation that it seems like the u.s. created the conditions for this to happen (who wouldâve thought?) but only as an afterthought, sandwiched between two paragraphs about how disruptive and unfortunate and pitiful these blackouts are, with quotes cherry-picked to exploit the Cuban intervieweesâ pain while maintaining the myth that this is all happening in a vacuum and there is somehow no rightful resistance against the empire
