Jamiazu but it’s Jamil who finds Azul’s presence an odd sort of comfort. Something he’s drawn to inexplicably and against his own will. Something that leads him to his door when he’s tortured by his own thoughts. Maybe it’s because he doesn’t care about Azul’s opinion on him, maybe it’s because Azul’s the only person he can say no to.

Maybe it’s because, on some level, he wants azul’s words to be true. For his touch to be caring, loving.

but he can’t bring himself to admit it, so instead, he sits in the same spot everyday, waiting for Azul to take that same place beside him, like he always does.

Yeah, that tracks. I would literally come up with something years, even a decade ago, and only just recently come up with the reason that it even happened. And one of my regular FE commenters on AO3 told me that she loves just how weird and unorthodox my fics tend to be.

I was fully a Pantser back then, but I guess I became a bit more methodical when I began writing more multi-chapter stuff. I still love it when characters become sentient and take the wheel, though.
