idea for a video-game isekai: "I Maxed out my Level in Another World by Automating my Crafting Experience"
people get isekai'ed into this other world regularly for dark plot twist reasons to help maintain order and peace throughout the land, as well as stimulate its economy, and protag is part of the latest batch, which happens to include his entire high school class (only adding that plot point because I haven't before in other anime ideas I've had).
Now when people get isekai'ed in this other world, they are given one of 4 choices on how they gain experience in this world, and after picking, they can't gain exp any other way:
A.) The Way of the Warrior: gain exp through combat and killing enemies (you get the most exp this way, but it's obviously the most dangerous)
B.) The Way of the Craftsman: gain exp through gathering materials, creating things, and distributing things; the things can be items, weapons, tools, buildings, food, creatures; basically anything you have the materials and imagination to come up with (you get the least exp this way, but it's considered the safest option)
C.) The Way of the Mercenary: gain exp through completing missions and quests, which can be to do a wide variety of tasks, including but not limited to combat or crafting, but you won't get exp from doing those things to complete a quest; only exp from completing the quest itself (the amount of exp you get varies wildly depending on the quest/missions that are available, but on average you gain less exp than combat but more exp than crafting)
D.) The Way of the Adventurer: gain exp from all three methods, but you have a permanent debuff that reduces the amount of exp you gain in general, so that the overall amount of exp you gain is roughly the same as option C's average
Now most isekai'ed people go for options A, C, or D, as they all yield more exp than B, but as you can probably guess, protag decides to go with option B, as they aren't interested in putting their life at risk. So at first, protag gathers materials and turns them into things, but quickly finds that he is indeed getting very little exp despite going through a lot of work to make his stuff.
That's when protag gets an idea: back in the previous world, their favorite video games to play were the kind where protag would be constantly upgrading the output of the stuff they could build, with stuff like assembly lines and other machines that would automatically extract raw materials and convert them into items. With this in mind, protag wonders if they could do the same here, thus being able to craft things, and by extension gain exp, automatically, and at a much faster rate than doing everything manually.
They decide to try it, as if nothing else building all these machines would get them exp, and through experimentation (and help from some friends protag makes along the way), protag learns a few things:
--Protag does not get exp if someone else gathers the resources they would use to craft something, but does get exp from crafting something from someone else's resources
--Protag does get exp if a thing protag crafted, such as a robot or golem, extract the resources, as well as if that crafted thing crafts another thing
--If the crafted thing protag made is sentient and/or self aware, protag will not get exp from them extracting resources or crafting something
--protag does not get exp from combat-related crafts killing enemies (though protag wonders if that's only because they're not a warrior, and thus can't get exp through combat, but perhaps an adventurer would if they made a combat-craft)
--protag does not get exp if someone else distributes their crafts, but does if a non-sentient craft they made distributes them
Eventually, as the title of the anime suggests, protag perfects an automated system to extract resources, turn them into crafts, and even distribute them to those they've set up to take them. Needless to say, protag ends up with a near constant flow of exp for their efforts, which causes them to level up fast, which in turn unlocks greater craftsman skills and abilities that allow protag to further refine the automation process, thus increasing their exp gain further, until one day protag wakes up to find they've reach the max level, meaning all their stats are maxed out, they've unlocked all craft skills and abilities, and can no longer gain exp.
Hijinks ensue as protag can now do whatever they want, as being max level means literally nothing in this world is strong enough to do them any harm, least of all protag's classmates, who have also been leveling up this while time, but they're all still less than lv 100, compared to protag's Lv 999999+
(spoiler for a fun idea for a season/show finale: someone BBEG also manages to become max level by the final episode, leading to a climatic showdown between them and protag, except it turns out if you have weapons, armor, and/or other items that increase your stats, those buffs still apply even if a hero has maxed out stats, meaning it's possible to have beyond-maxed out stats. As such, since BBEG thought they no longer needed their BBEG armor or weapons with maxed out stats, protag shows up with max-level-crafted stat-increasing crafts [clothing, armor, weapons, jewelry, the whole she-bang] and after letting the BBEG toss them around for a bit, beats the ever loving crap out of them)
