"Huh. That's one big parka you got there! How have you not over-heated yet?"
“ I have special cooling system installments inside me, and the climates I normally work in prevent overheating even more ! … Hey wait a minute, you look familiar…” a few seconds pass before Iceman snaps his fingers, coming to a conclusion.
“Rock! You finally decided on a Halloween costume? It looks amazing! ”
Beck sighed. Well, it wasn’t the first time he’d been mistaken for Mega Man. He wasn’t about to lash out on this kid though, not at all, he just thought that.. Well, while they were somewhat similar personality wise, they didn’t look completely alike, right? The ninth number shook his head and gave off a sheepish laugh and smile, deciding that just shrugging it off would be the best option. “Nah, I’m not Rock, I’m Beck.” He began curtly, “But don’t worry, you’re definitely not the first one to mistake me for him.”
THIS BLOG IS STILL ACTIVE I S WE AR i just havent had much time to reply to things and make starter calls and stuff but i promise to get to all this soon
“Why are you leaning closer?”
[ ∅ ] - Ray was only half aware of what she was doing, her eyes hazy and unfocused as she stepped ever closer to him, easily towering over Beck with her height alone.
Voices, in hushed, hurried whispers, right in her ears, her mind, such dark…dark thoughts. Feed. Consume. Survive. Nothing else mattered.
Nothing should matter. Only prolonging death.
Another step. Another. Another. She said nothing but a small growl under her breath, fangs glistening with hunger and the urge for…for…
“……..”
With each step the vixen took closer, Beck took one back. His brows were furrowed and his lips were pursed into a thin line as he stared up at Ray, debating on what to do. No matter the circumstances, he refused to use his buster on her, which only left the options of trying to talk her out of this or taking any opportunity he could to run. But.. Why was she doing this? Was she really that hungry? Or did he just trick himself into thinking that she’d never view him as prey just because she hadn’t been trying to kill him recently?
“Ray..” He warned in a soft tone, feeling himself tense up with each step back. Whatever Beck was going to do, he’d have to think quickly; it was only a matter of time until he’d be cornered and become vulnerable. Well, on the bright side, he’d rather die himself if it came down to that rather than some other innocent android.
[ ∅ ] - As Ray’s heels clicked ominously against hard flooring, the claws that served as her weapons of death extended, and she slowly raised them against the Mighty Number–forcing him to continue to retreat backwards. Closer and closer she still approached…
The whispers did nothing good. Nothing except drown out nearly everything else–
“Ray…”
The Vermilion Destroyer falters slightly, a flicker of recognition. She blinks slowly.
That voice was familiar…wasn’t it? Yes, it was, and it wasn’t one of the many that she always heard. It said her name–part of it, at least. Where had she heard that voice before…?
“… ?”
“I can’t let you get near him like this…You’re COMPLETELY out of control–!”
“Out..o f…C..on..trol…”
Click…click…
“Xelssss…”
Click…click…
“Must…f e e d…”
CLICK….
Beck only tensed further, eyes narrowing slightly as he bared his teeth as coolant ran down his synthetic skin. Anxiety was starting to overcome him, finally realizing that he could very well die right here, right now. There had to be something he could still do?! As Ray spoke, the Xelbot could feel himself shrinking back, even by only a little. He brought his arms up protectively to his chest, as if to try and shield himself from the claws that would more than likely eventually lead to his demise. “Ray..” He tried again in a shaky tone, “Ray, pull yourself together! What are you doing? Stop!” As Beck finished that remark, he felt himself bump into a cold, stone wall placed behind him. Well, that sealed the deal. He was dead now. He quickly spun around to examine it, although pivoted back to face Ray almost instantly after, bringing trembling arms up to his head and chest in an attempt to shield himself through narrowed eyes.
“Why are you leaning closer?”

For.. Whatever reason, Beck couldn’t get the taste of what he could only assume to be blood out of his mouth. How did it get there..? There was no way on Gods green earth that he’d ever harm a human- much less literally tear one open to taste ones blood. The thought made him shudder. What was wrong with him? How did he just magically know what blood tasted like? It couldn’t have been oil, the taste just wasn’t.. Thick enough to be that anyway. Maybe a maintenance check with Dr. White wouldn’t hurt right about now. Maybe he was tasting something else that had to be looked at.Or maybe it was just his imagination. Yeah, that made the most sense.
It hadn’t taken Beck too long to find Bass. After all, how could you not? He stuck out so clearly. Truth be told, he was in the same area and had been watching him for a while.. But wasn’t sure if he should go up to him or just sit and wait to see what he’d do. Just based off his appearance alone Beck could only assume the worst out of this foreign robot, the fact that he had been perched atop a pile of deceased combroids just adding onto his assumptions. Well, might as well go over and see what was going on. Sifting through the dozens of destroyed combroids hadn’t really sat too well with him, making the xelbot shudder, although regardless he still went on. “Uh.. Hey.” Beck began cautiously as he started to near Bass from the back, “So.. What’cha doing there? That’s.. Quite a lot of destroyed combroids you’re standing on.”
Treble barked as Beck approached, warning his master of the (albeit small) potential threat.
“Huh? …Hang on, I’ll call you back. We’ve got another volunteer.” Bass muttered to no one present as he turned to face the fresh meat. For a second he thought it might be Mega Man finally arriving to stop him. The disappointment that it wasn’t put him in a foul mood right from the start.
“Just a little warm-up. What’s it to you?”
Beck took a step back, hearing the bark from the rather large dog. Was it a dog? He guessed it was. Regardless, the xelbot hadn’t caught him, he had been too focused on Bass to even spare a glance at Treble. “Well, honestly its just not every day that you see so many destroyed Combroids in the same place. You couldn’t have taken all them out by yourself..?” The male gave the Wily-bot a quick run down, scanning him head to toe as he spoke. “And if you did, then that’s.. That’s even more concerning. Were they attacking you first? Combroids really aren’t the type of robots to just go at someone first.” Beck shifted his weight over to his left leg as he placed his palms on either side of his hips. This.. Seemingly powerful robot honestly sparked some interest in him. The smaller bot could sort of tell from the get-go that Bass wouldn’t be a very nice guy, but what could you expect from someone who’d essentially just committed Combroid genocide?
❂?? SURE WHY NOT (^':
[ ∅ ] - “Will you stop it–I told you it’s mine–”
That was a lie. That blood on her creastfallen face was most certainly NOT Xel and therefore not hers, but apperently it didn’t matter to Beck. Why–why was he even doing this, why must you confuse her so, No. 9?
“I can CLEAN it myself, damn it, will you–OW–”
Just a tad too close to her exposed eye, Beck. Careful.
b–eck:
Beck gave a soft sigh. “Raaay..” He groaned, although he couldn’t really get himself to argue with her. He just had to trust that she had a good reason to, and by the sound of it she did. He sighed, blinking his deep emerald optics. “I guess I understand.” He did understand, but that didn’t mean that he agreed that it was a smart thing to do.
Y’know, he also couldn’t help but wonder.. Why was she letting him this close? Why was she letting him come into physical contact with her? The Xelbots look softened as he pondered the strange thought. He never would’ve guessed that he’d ever be in this situation, but here he was. Beck snapped back to reality once Ray had started speaking again. The dark-haired android hadn’t seemed to realize that he’d just paused entirely while he was thinking, so he quickly got back into rubbing the blood back off.. Although there wasn’t any blood anymore. He’d finished the job. Beck removed his left hand from Rays shoulder and glanced at the bloody cloth, shuddering a bit. He was definitely going to throw it out once he got back home. Glancing back up at her curiously he began, “They’ll what..?” He.. Didn’t think they’d try and fight her. So long as he told them not to. Was that what she was thinking? “Oh.” Beck blinked his emerald optics slowly, “Do you think they’ll try and fight you..? I really don’t think they would, so long as you weren’t trying to fight me or anyone else. And even if they did show up and try to start something, I’d stop them. You really aren’t.. Well, trying to kill me, so why would they?”
[ ∅ ] - “……”
Did he? Did he really understand? What she has to go through nearly every single day of this wretched, cursed life–no, it can’t even be called a life, can it. This wasn’t life, this was not living. Surviving and living are two completely different things.
Ray stared as she saw his spine shake at the sight of blood. Strange, how similar and alike they really were. She almost enjoyed being covered in the red, sticky substance sometimes. Almost. Being bathed in the blood of your foes loses it’s charm after a few decades–it dries and cakes over, making it harder to wash off.
“…Thank you, I suppose.” She says, casting her gaze off–only to snap it back at the better model
“Beck–don’t you KNOW what I am?”
The question is delivered in a more harsh tone than she realized.
“What do you mean, ‘they won’t fight me?’ Beck–you know what I do, do you really think your family–your father–will see it that way as well? Like…like you do? You ‘understand’–they won’t.”
She shouldn’t remind him like this, did he just forget everything they–
….
Wait. Wait a moment.
Beck opened his mouth to say something, although quickly shut it and jumped back out of, not fear, but surprise once she suddenly snapped at him. “I-” He hadn’t meant to upset her, Christ he didn’t think that saying that would, “I.. I just thought that if they had no..” Although, he paused. Oh. That’s right. He had sort of forgotten that, hey, this was Ray, the same robot who mercilessly killed her own kind just to stay alive. That his siblings, if they had the chance, would fight. Oh God. Beck brought a palm up to his head and sighed, gaze shifting to the ground.
“..I’m sorry. With all of this I just sort of.. Forgot. I just thought, for a moment, that if you weren’t posing an immediate threat that they’d just take me back and leave you alone. Least, that’s what I wish could happen.” He gave a sheepish smile towards the end of his sentence, glancing up at her shyly. It was disappointing how Ray and his family all had to be rivals. Something that he wished they’d consider, that he JUST considered, was that Ray didn’t have a choice. He highly doubted that she would’ve chosen this life given the option.. A wave of guilt washed over him as he took this in. She didn’t want to kill, did she? She just had to, to keep herself alive, and his family hadn’t realized that.
[ ∅ ] - Stupid. Stupidstupidstupidstupid. Why didn’t she see this before. He even smelled slightly different, ugh–
Where was her version of Beck, anyway? For some reason, it was hard to remember–and it hurt when she tried, in more ways than one. Not now, not now, how did–
When Beck started speaking again, Ray took in a breath–don’t, don’t say anything, not a word until he finishes…he’s not much different from the one she knew, maybe…maybe that’s why she didn’t…notice.
I am going soft.
Because even though she wanted to punch that stupid naive smile off his face, that feeling quickly faded off once his expression fell–an expression that only betrayed his trademark empathy.
Sigh. “You’re too naive for your own good, you moron…”
And then she flicked him on the nose–harshly, to snap him out of it. She’d never admit it–but seeing him like that didn’t make her feel…good.
“Stop making that face–it’s annoying. While I appreciate your concern, that’s the reality of it. YOU should be more worried about your little playdates in that oversized sandbox humans call the Coloseeum. That IS what you were built for, after all.”
He would’ve replied- had Ray not flicked his nose. Becks expression faltered as he took a step or two back, raising a hand to his nose for a few good moments. “Ow.” He chuckled, brows furrowing with a slight smile. Next, he crossed his arms, rocking on the balls of his heels. “Well, first, I’m not too naive,” “And.. Well, yeah. I guess you’re right. But that doesn’t mean it has to totally rule over my life, right? I still want to take time out to check to see if you or any of my other friends are still holding up well.” The xelbot shrugged. He.. Essentially just called Ray his friend. And he meant it, even though it just sounded.. Pretty generic.

@brandiished (arranged starter) Beck let out an excruciating scream as a sharp, thick blade had been impaled straight through his core. Sure, Brandish still had the virus, but the the younger bot hadn’t thought that it would have had to come to this. It was just too bad that he wasn’t fully on guard like he usually had been during battles. Fighting his other siblings was tough. Very tough, emotionally and physically, but Brandish was a whole ‘nother story. Maybe that’s why Beck had been so lenient on fighting back. And that’s why this happened. The realization hit him that he was going to die almost instantly on impact. And he wasn’t wrong. All he could see were error screens as he felt his systems locking up in a massive wave. Beck was, quite literally, just a couple moments away from death.
