iāve been wanting to do this for several months now and i didnāt realize how simple setting up a donate button actually was. anyway, my name is rachel and iām an 18 year old transgender girl living in north carolina. as you can imagine, living where i do is difficult and prevents me from starting transition as soon as possible. i also have parents who i havenāt managed to come out to out of fear. as far as i know everyone in my family is intensely homophobic and transphobic. i graduated high school this year and i havenāt gone to college just yet. iād like to start going when iām actively presenting as a woman and iām not known by everyone as a man.Ā
i work in retail and it pays for basic things but money for transition is a bit out of reach right now. itās such an expensive process which is something else thatās worried me and held me back. iāve known i was a girl since i was only 16 but i havenāt taken any steps to cure my dysphoria and do what i want with my body. iām out to pretty much every friend i have, on the internet and in person. most people have been incredibly supportive and manage to use the right name and pronouns. my goal is to be on hormones by summer 2015. earlier would be fantastic but i donāt know how long this will take. if you canāt donate any money thatās totally cool but iād like everyone to spread the word in case some people are able to. feel free to reblog this post and share it with your followers. you can find a donate button on my blog. iāll probably make a better post someday because i typed this out in a rush. thank you so much for this in advance.
