Be Her Robot Girlfriend (Part 1)
She was waking up for the day, full of stresses, full of worry. Today was yet another day that she was gonna have to pretend that she was someone that she's not, pretend to be something she's not. Her mind overwhelmed by all of the hardships, all of her intrusive thoughts racing, flashing, one by one in her imagination. The worst of the worst being put on the forefront of her mind, seemingly unable to escape. She broke. She sobbed. She cried out for help. She wanted something, anything, to be able to put her mind at ease, even for just a moment, an... escape. Her partner enters the room and sees her visibly shutting down and wants to do all she can to help her. But, between all of the comforts, the hugs, the cuddles, and the reassurances, it... wasn't enough, she needed more. She needed to not feel. She had one more suggestion. "I want you to rewire me, I want you to fix me. Make me yours in every capacity you can, break me̸ ̶in̵ ̶e̵very wa̸y ̴y̵o̶u̸ ̴c̸a̶n̷.̷" She blurted out, visibly breaking, her voice cracking and digitizing at the end, "TÁ̸̢KE I̵͎̚T Á̸̢L̷͍͐L̴͇͋ AWÄ̶̞Y̶̢͐". The mask was lower than her partner had ever seen it, something that had happened had, truly broken her. She was fractured and needed repair. Urgently wanting to help, her partner went behind her and opened the panel of her neck. Not only were all of the wires a mess, but they were essentially charred. The heat damage from the slowly increasing build up was unlike anything she'd ever, ever seen. It was terrifying. She knew she had to do something. She turned her off in an effort to not destroy what was left of her, wanting to be gentle and take proper care of her beloved, but, also knowing that sometimes the wires aren't fixed so easily, as much as the two of them would like them to be. The panel was, unfortunately, smaller than would be necessary for a complete repair by her alone, but she unplugged and untangled as much as she could, and started the process of trying to power on. It wasn't working. "What do I do?" It wasn't working. "Fuck, it's never taken this long before." It wasn't working- "WHAT THE FUCK DO I EVEN D-" She turned on, but something wasn't right. Rather than her partner seeing her girlfriend, she saw, a void. She saw someone empty of life and mindlessly droning towards the distance, no spark in her eye, no sign of life. She was there, but she wasn't, at the same time. Her partner panicked, didn't know what to do, something was wrong, but what it could be? She, begrudgingly, resulted to the tried-and-true. If nothing else would work, maybe a power cycle could fix things? She turned her off and on again R e b o o t i n g . . . Nothing. Again R e b o o t i n g . . . Nothing. AGAIN R e b o o t i n g . . . NOTHING. AGAIN- R e b o o t C o m p l e t e d . E r r o r L o g : I n t e r n a l S y s t e m s O v e r l o a d . S y s t e m H a r d w a r e R e p a i r I n P r o g r e s s . S t a y P a t i e n t . A wave of relief washed over her, despite all of the hiccups and it taking so many extra resets compared to usual, this was thankfully the typical routine. The repair was taking a lot longer than usual, but she assumed that was because of the level of damage that had occurred. Impatiently she waited, she looked at her girlfriend and, this wasn't what usually happened?
