Dory lept up out of the water, gasping and coughing loudly. They didn’t even have time to cover their mouth, they had practically choked once they’d gone underwater! “What the-” Another coughing, hacking fit came full force as Dory’s lungs burned with pool chlorine, “I can’t breathe-” They made their may over to a pool ladder, trying not to cough on people and catch their breath, “I-I can’t-” The swimmer took a deep breath, trying to understand what had just happened to their lungs, “Holy moly..”

             IT WAS A beautiful day – the sun was high up in the air, her warmth ( all though a little weak due to the season ) comforting, the sky a bright shade of blue that filled whoever was looking up at it with a positive mindset, helia was convinced of it. he was seated on one of the benches in the park, one of his favorite places, sketchbook on his legs as he was trying to capture the way the sun shined through the trees, falling on the lake in a perfect angle. “ don’t you love days like these ? “, the young man wondered at the person sitting next to him, turning his head to offer them a smile. “ the sun is shining, the sky is blue, the park is calm… “. { @fantasiafallsstarters​ }

Aurora set the piping bag down on the table.

She had spent all morning and the most of the afternoon making cupcakes part of a large order for a customer. Her aunts would handle the cakes but she was stuck with cupcake duty.

Aurora wiped sweat from her forehead with a small rag, before starting to place the cupcakes in a pink-and-white with cursive writing on the front.

She looked up at the sound of someone calling her name from the front of the bakery.   Aurora closed the box and headed out of the bakery to see who it was.  

“ Hello, I’m finishing up an order but I’m happy to help after I’m done with it.”

~sunshine breathes

Hoon’s pale skin glowed in the sun, having spent most the day in the dusty stacks of the museum, it needed some vitamin d. The boy also needed to stretch and breathe, he was surprised that he never had been diagnosed with asthma with how much old particles the boy breathed in every day. Lifting his arms in the sky, his sweater pulled up showing a few inches of his bare, toned stomach. There was a few more hours of his shift, but he planned on wasting his hour lunch break standing in the sun or laying on the grass.

It was in the moment he was enjoying himself that he noticed someone near him, “oh, I’m sorry, am I in your way?”

sure, danny got a little absent-minded from time to time, and he wouldn’t even call it absent-minded. more like his mind was in a million places all at once trying to weigh which thing needed his attention the most at that particular second, get it done as efficiently as possible so he could move onto the next thing, and over and over again! so locking his keys in his car right before a snow storm was maybe putting a slight wrench in his day, groaning as he leaned his forehead against the cold window, the keys glittering at him from the floormat, mocking him. damn it.

now that the new year’s party was over, sun resumed her usual schedule. after she made her first book purchase of the year, she walked out of the library and smiled at nothing in particular.    “    i have a feeling that this year is going to be great,    ”    she said, then looked at the person next to her.    “    happy new year, by the way.    ”    ( @fantasiafallsstarters​ )

Flotsam lit up the cig, and stared at the sky before chuckling a bit as people walked by staring at him with his shirt off. Yes it was a little chilly out but he didn’t care in the least, he would back inside soon. Someone would take him up on the offer of a half price,  tattoo or piercing for New Years Day. He pulled out his phone before noticing someone was staring at him, raising a eyebrow he looked over. “ You know if you took a picture it would last, longer. peter was definitely enjoying his night; more than he imagined he would have been.  but between all the dancing and drinks and overall enjoyment, he found himself needing a bit of air, enjoying the crisp air and quietness ( compared to the other side of the door ) as he stood outside, enjoying a smoke.  when he heard the door, peter looked up, nodding at the person that walked out.  “want a hit?,” he offered the splint in his hand to his new company.  ( @fantasiafallsstarters​​ )

the couple of drinks violet had at the beginning of the party were now wearing off and as the night went on, she felt more and more out of place.  part of her just wanted to slip out of there; no need to turn invisible, it’s not like anyone would notice anyway.  sitting down, watching others dance and drink and have a good time, that familiar awkward school dance feeling set in, that same loneliness.  when someone passed with another tray of drinks, violet stood to grab one, letting out a sigh as she sat back down and let her sink into her seat a little.  “whyyy do i always do this?,” she mumbled to herself. Heather sat down on the bench, in front of the fountain and sighed attempting to draw their next tattoo while the first one they had gotten had been easy this one was proving to be , hard to say the least. nick wasn’t sure when he had reached his ‘ fun quota ’ but he was certain it was at least a half hour ago, the fancy food starting to bum him out, and the overall atmosphere overwhelming, to say the least. sure, he was dressed to the nines and felt great, but something was still off. “what about you?” he asked the person standing closest to him, fingers dancing along his glass. you having a good time at this thing? ringing in the new year?” he looked out at the people dancing, eyes flickering across, landing back at the other person. “how long until midnight, anyway?”

the tiredness seeped into her bones the more and more she walked her way out of the station. the overnight shifts were rough, and somehow they were still her favorite despite the overwhelming exhaustion she felt when her days off rolled around. the second a coffee shop was in sight she rushed as much as she could just to get a spot in the ever growing line before it was out the door. her fist rubbed into her eye as cassandra stood there, the line was out the door at this point and she cursed herself for the morning rush. the people around her were lively, and she wasn’t exactly sure how, her eyes could barely even stay open long enough and before she realized it she was pumping into the person infront of her. “i’m so sorry” she said as she backed up a bit, her eyes wide. “I’m so tired i didn’t even realize the line stopped moving”

“please just pretend you know me,” nick begged, practically whining which he never did, eyes widening to try and convince the person unluckily enough next to him. “see that guy over there? i’m really not in the mood for a reunion right now, you get me?, and if he sees me, i’m done for.” nick bounced on the balls of his feet, spinning of out sight. “i’ll buy you a coffee if just…. h e l p me.”

         “ ARE YOU GOING to finish that ? “, bastian asked the person sitting at the table next to him in the small coffee hut – they had not been touching their half eaten muffin and truly, that was a waste of a perfectly good muffin. bastian could not sit idly by, allowing that to happen. especially not since he had finished his own muffin already ten minutes ago and his sweet tooth was not yet satisfied. there was not much of an expression on his features as he looked from the muffin to the person, single eyebrow arching up as he pointed at the treat. “ ‘cause if not, i’ll do you a favor and finish it for you. “. { @fantasiafallsstarters​ }

         ANYA  WASN’T  THE  TYPE  to spend money she didn’t have. living by pay check to pay check with terrible wages meant treating herself was a rarity. yet as her boots clicked against the pavement underneath her, the sweet scent of fresh pastries pulled her in. the place was quiet as soon as she wondered in, nothing more than the soft whispers of old friends and tired patrons lingering at their seats. anya’s feet headed straight towards the display, eyeing the blueberry muffin that caught her attention. as soon as she flexed her index finger and prepared to grab a worker’s attention, the femme noticed another figure in her peripheral vision. “ normally i’d let you have this, but it’s the last one and i’m starving. could we at least split it in half ? ”

Being one of the newer faces in town, Dory was always ready to meet new people and make new friends. Unfortunately for them though, with meeting so many new people and seeing so many new faces a day… they all blurred together after a while. Surely they knew some of these people, right? Some of them had even lived on the same side of the island as Dory, but it seemed their memory was just working against them as always. It wasn’t long before a face they’d seen a handful of times sat upon the other end of the table - one issue though, was that Dory could not remember their name at all. Not a clue. “Oh, heeey! Long time, no see!” The swimmer floundered before finding something to say, “I’m sorry - I don’t want to mispronounce your name?”
