GREAT MEWS! BABYBEL IS BACK!

Back in July of 2020 I thought I'd lost Babybel for good. I don't want to get into details but she was lost outside. I put out posters and everything to try and find her but didn't have much luck aside from a couple alleged sightings. Anyway I'd given up all hope of ever swing my little girl again. I was heartbroken but eventually got a new cat because I missed having a feline companion in my life.

Several months later I'm browsing through the community's face book page and I see a picture of a cat who looks exactly like Babybel and a post from a lady saying that she'd found the cat around the end if December and was looking for the cat's owner.

I spoke with the lady and showed her pics of Babybel. I was uncertain but she was almost certain that it was my long lost cat. I came over and spent a little time with the cat. I was thrown off because it had been nearly 2 years since I saw her and she'd also put on a little weight but she acted exactly like Bel and came right up to me like she knew me despite being a bit shy with strangers according to the lady who was taking care of her.

Part of me is still uncertain but she has been with me and Toby for about a week now. And she definitely acts like the same cat I remembered and furthermore she walked right into my home like she been here before. She has all of baby Bell's old habits. Same meow, same way of playing, acts like she's known me all her life, same look, likes the same stuff. I guess I'm in shock but...Baby came home!

This new bill has been introduced in both the house and the Senate.

Among other things, it will:

Raise the monthly disability income by just over 30 percent - bringing it to poverty level.

Remove penalties for recieving financial help from friends and family.

Increase the amount of assets a disabled person may have from $2,000 to $10,000 (this hasn't been updated since 1989)

Update outside income restrictions to allow disabled people to receive up to $399 a month without reducing their benefits.

REWARD, not penalize, people who want to receive additional income while on social security income.

REMOVE THE MARRIAGE BAN YES YOU READ THAT RIGHT THIS WILL REMOVE THE MARRIAGE BAN

For those unaware current regulations do a lot to oppress disabled people. In fact marriage equality doesn't even extend to disbled people who risk having their benefits reduced or outright taken away if they marry someone. This means that in common law states disabled people can't even live with their significant other or they risk losing their financial independence.

Current regulations mean that if you're disbled you can't have so much as one penny over $2,000 to your name. So buying a car and gaining more independence or freedom is largely out of the question for disabled people.

Current regulations penalize social security recipients who receive income from outside sources, even if those sources are reimbursement. Did you get paid to babysit for a few hours? That's income, and you get your benefits reduced. Did you loan a friend $10 and they pay you back? The government considers that $10 income, and you get your benefits reduced.

These aren't mere anecdotes - these are all examples of actual things that have happened to disbled people I know, and if you have any disabled friends in your life I'm sure they can tell you the same stories.

If you value marriage equality, if you value financial independence, if you value the rights of disbled people, please PLEASE support this bill! Contact your reps, vote, and make noise! This is a great thing!

My name is Salem. I am in desperate need of help. I attempted to escape my abusive Mother by moving in with some roommates in to Coshocton, Ohio. That did not work. I am currently homeless and my glasses are over there and they will not let me go in and get them. I cannot see anything without them. I have this hotel to stay in for one week with my cats. I currently have about 600 left in the bank, or at least that's what I will have by the time I get out of here. I have called multiple apartments there is nothing available for rent right at this moment. I need somewhere to stay. I cannot continue to stay here period if there is anyone in Fairborn, or Dayton who would be willing to let me stay with them and two cats you can deal with a person who has a lot of medical issues, cptsd and anxiety, please contact me . This has escalated into a life-or-death situation. On Saturday I will no longer have enough money to stay here. Despite my best efforts I have not found anything. I get a ride out on one condition: that I go back to Florida with my mom. Perhaps my leaving was a stupid idea but considering the fact that she literally tried to strangle me a couple of weeks before I left, I'm downright terrified of her. My relatives, who I thought I could trust, went behind my back, told my mom what I told her about her behavior, but of course they sided with her. And now that she knows that I told someone about what she's been doing, she's going to treat me even worse. Living with her again is not an option.

My health has been getting worse. My heart rate has been getting up to 172 beats per minute and above multiple times daily. It's been hard for me to get food because there is no public transportation here. It's been even harder for me to keep it down because maybe I had some kind of stomach virus I don't know but I feel sick to my stomach all the time and when I do eat let's just say my stomach punishes me for it.

But this situation is becoming life threatening and I really need help.
