Hihi! This is my post about the animes that I’ll be watching this fall season 2017, and some preliminary thoughts about them. I’m really excited about 4 of them specifically, and hope I’ll be able to find people to scream about them with!
1. Shokugeki no Soma Season 3
I was actually a bit hesitant to watch this when the first season came out because of literal food porn, but I got to really like the characters and all the different types of food! It’s more of a feel good type of anime for me, but I hear it gets really intense in the later arcs and I’m excited to find out about it. I know I should be reading the manga, but I’ve always been more into watching shows, so I’m hyped to get caught up with the series! (image source: wikia)
2. Ousama Game
I never read it, but heard a lot about this title, and it seems like the type of thing I’d enjoy (suspense, mystery)! I feel like I haven’t seen animes like this in a while (mayoiga was a complete flop), so I’m really excited! It also reminds me a lot of liar game, and gives a death note kind of vibe. Probably the most hyped anime of this season for me! After watching the first episode, I was a bit hesitant because I’m really not into gore, but we’ll see how it turns out! Also, it seems like the anime is a sequel to the manga, so I’m thinking of finishing the manga. Hmm.. (image source: animeler.net)
3. 3-Gatsu no Lion Season 2
Truth be told, I only finished the first season literally the day before I wrote this post. The direction that the anime industry is heading now really doesn’t leave room for much slow-paced, serious, text-heavy animes anymore. Much less anything more than 12/13 episodes! This is definitely not your typical anime, but one where you can experience lots of character development along with the protagonist. Through this slice of life, you really get a peek at the emotions that people usually don’t verbalize and I think it’s a very strong piece of work! Not to mention, any anime is a work well done when it piques my interest despite knowing nothing about the sport they dedicate themselves to (shogi in this case). (image source: 3lion_anime twitter)
4. Code: Realize: Sousei no Himegimi
I’m excited yet worried about this anime at the same time because none of the otoges I’ve played has been made into a decent anime thus far. This is one of my favourite otoges because the storyline is rich, and the heroine isn’t a complete dweeb, although she does have her moments at times... The total number of episodes hasn’t been announced yet but I can imagine it to be around 12/13, which simply isn’t enough time to capture the emotions that you experience in each route. This sounds more like a complaint than excitement but I just really don’t know how the anime is going to be executed and it can be good or go south fast. Nonetheless, I look forward to what studio M.S.C (they did Prince of Tennis OVAs??) has to offer... I guess lol (image source: Alpha Coders)
