Living close to the volcano had its...charm?
Isabel's hard work is paying off!
Isabel and Ukupanipo were becoming very close...
Knowing she would need the help of all her new friends in Sulani, Isabel gathered everyone together...for a Kava Party!
Excuse me, WHO is in Isabel's bed?!
Isabel soon discovered that Ukupanipo was a Merman too, and he and Paka'a shared all they knew about Mua Pel'am's history, as well as their theory behind Isabel's sudden transformation:
"Before the Battle of the Golden Sands, the islands were protected and cared for in balance between the Merfolk and Landfolk; the Merfolk would care for the oceans and corals, while the Landfolk nurtured all above the waves.
"But when the battle began, the Merfolk were driven away; Princess Cordelia's armada had taken over the waters, and The Dread Pirate Morgan had turned many of the islanders of Mua Pel'am into allies. The islanders of Ohan'ali Town became isolated from the rest of Sulani, and as time moved on, we were forgotten, and so was Mua Pel'am.
"Now, as you can see, the islands are in desperate need of help, and we Merfolk are considered a myth,"
Isabel was amazed to hear the island's history, and wanted more than ever to help bring them back to their former glory.
"So, the Island Spirits...do you think they guided my transformation so I can help?"
"Of course! They have chosen you, Isabel. You have already won the hearts of all the people of Sulani; you have the power to save the islands, and help the Merfolk and Landfolk live in harmony together again!"
Both shocked and excited by her transformation, Isabel knew she had to tell someone. Surely someone must know how or why this has happened?
Thankfully, much to Isabel's relief, she soon discovered that Paka'a was a Merman!
Back at the mysterious pool, Isabel knew exactly what she needed to do:
As she set foot back into the shallow waters, she felt her sore, dry skin begin to soothe. It was almost as if her body was drinking it all up!
As she tread the water, her skin began to tingle all over...until Isabel realised her legs felt, kinda different...?
Isabel had become a mermaid!
Isabel had no memory of returning home that night, and the warm Sulanian sun was already high in the sky when she finally awoke.
Isabel was no stranger to morning breath, but this time her mouth felt drier than the Sulani sands! After a quick glass of water, she suddenly realised just how thirsty she seemed to be!
Three glasses in, Isabel was still unable to quench her thirst...and her skin felt so...dry?! She felt like a dried out fish!
She looked down at her arms and legs, expecting them to look like sandpaper, but alas, they looked fine! What the heck was going on?!
As she caught sight of the ocean waves through her window, the voices spoke:
"...return..."
"YOU MUST RETURN!"
With the sudden innate knowledge of what she needed to do, Isabel followed the Island Spirits...
The Island Spirits beckoned her into the shallow waters, slowly growing brighter and larger as Isabel swam further in.
A strange treasure chest(?) was sat on one of the rocks, close to the water...
Mesmerised by the glowing lights of the Island Spirits, Isabel was led across the pool to the chest.
"Remember..."
The waters seemed to be whispering to her...or was it the Island Spirits?
"Remember..."
Isabel slowly opened the chest, finding an odd looking fruit inside.
Was it fruit? Or kelp?
Whatever it was, Isabel somehow knew it was safe to eat; it was kind of sweet, but salty, and tasted of the sea! As Isabel finished the last piece, she heard whispers again:
"The ocean will always remember..."
It was a late afternoon when the Island Spirits almost seemed to drag Isabel to the myterious cave...
The dark tunnels seemed to stretch on for miles, and for a few fleeting moments Isabel was certain that she would never find her way out.
Finally though, she found exactly what the Island Spirits had wanted her to see...a beautiful and myterious pool...
Isabel made sure to still spend some time enjoying Ohan'ali Town!
While cloudgazing with Mele, Isabel decided to ask her about the blue lights she'd experienced...
"Have you ever seen any strange blue lights around the islands?"
As if the lights had been listening, one appeared right above Isabel!
"You mean like that one? Oh Isabel, we all had a feeling you'd been brought to our islands for a reason,"
"Huh? What do you mean?"
"They are a sign of the Island Spirits; a very rare blessing indeed. Something very special is in store for you, Isabel..."
Isabel was woken one night to some strange blue lights...they were all over her house!
Strange happenings certainly weren't anything new to Isabel (her time in StrangerVille took care of that!), but these lights didn't seem to carry the same ominous feeling that Isabel had grown used to during her last adventure...
Instead, these lights seemed to be peaceful...hopeful, almost? Isabel gazed at them in wonder as they swirled around her for a while, before gently fading away...
Both Paka'a and Ukupanipo also lived in Mua Pel'am, and Isabel enjoyed their company in the evenings, while watching the sunset...
