“Well, the planet I’m from is known as Beforus, but I never really knew what town, or even country I lived in. My society didn’t focus much on geography, or boarders.”

He waved off his thoughts.

“Once again, I’m rambling. What’s Iwatobi like?”

Planet? He was from somewhere else?.. Well to be honest, he certainly didn’t look like a normal human. Either way, Makoto didn’t judge, and listened to the other speaking about his home world instead. It was surprisingly interesting, hearing that there was other species outside of their world.

“That’s what it’s like, huh?”

He smiled towards the other as he spoke to him, happy to hear the other speaking so fondly of his home world. The swimmer then tilted his head to the side, speaking with him once more.

“Iwatobi.. is a little like this place, but with a bit more freedom. You can live were you want, leave whenever you want, and speak to whoever you want to speak to there. I used to be a part of the Iwatobi Swimming club, so I enjoy swimming there too!”

This was a nice coincidence. If this Makoto fellow had enough confidence to offer to swim with Minato, he could possibly learn a few things. 

“Sure,” he said, approaching Makoto so he didn’t have to speak so loud for him to hear. Looking Makoto over, Minato could tell he was friendly and easy to get along with. Minato was still feeling uncertain in this context, being out in the water and not knowing what to do.. He didn’t want to necessarily rely on Makoto, but he figured it wouldn’t do him any harm to be completely honest. 

“I can’t swim.”

He had confidence to swim sure, but he hardly had enough confidence to teach someone how to swim in the sea. He was afraid of the sea himself, so this was hard on him- a little more than what he let on. He wasn’t as strong of a swimmer as his friend Haru, but he was still pretty good. He knew that much.

“Huh? You can’t swim?”

He blinked slightly as he thought that it was a little odd for the other to try and swim in the most dangerous places if he couldn’t even swim. The male didn’t even speak a word of that though, and instead nodded with acknowledgment, knowing what he had to do… Though he did attempt to divert him to a pool, just so that he can protect the both of them.

“I can teach you how to swim! Though, wouldn’t you think that it would be better in a pool rather than the sea?”

“I’m not changing it. I’ve always done it this way and it’s been fine.”

“But Haru…”

He sighed in defeat as he heard that the other wasn’t going to budge from his decision. He turned his head and looked out of the window, thinking that perhaps today these two could spend some time together. They hardly did so these days.

“Alright then, but after that we can go swimming, right~?”

“Are you kidding? No way am I getting that close. It might escape and crawl up my arm and–” 

“I see…”He paused for a small moment as he heard the other speak in such a way, honestly debating whether to get it himself or not.. It was the only way out, it seems.. “You know, I could always pick it up? I don’t mind if a bug crawled up my arm.”

Inigo shook his head rapidly, trying to regain his focus.

“Ah… I’m fine thank you… Are you alright? That was quite the collision” He chuckled, trying to make the mood better. He was on his way to meet his friends down the beach, but wasn’t paying attention to the path. Yet again, Morgan declined to leave his room and come along. Something was clearly wrong, he never missed a chance to make new memories… 

It took Inigo a moment to stand himself up, offering a hand to the other on the floor up.

“Terribly sorry about that, I wasn’t paying attention at all. The name’s Inigo, a shame we had to meet in such a painful way.”

“Good! I’m glad you’re okay… I’m alright!”

He nodded towards the other after gathering himself together. He had stumbled a little backwards, but he was now on his feet unharmed. Well, it was surprising to him to collide with someone this way, but his mind was elsewhere, and caused an opening to happenings like this. He was just glad that the other person was okay! When he got up, he took the other’s hand that was kindly offered by the other person.

“Thank you!”He chirped before speaking to the other once more. “It’s alright, it was my fault, I wasn’t concentrating where I was going… My name is Makoto Tachibana. It’s nice to meet you~!”

Minato turned towards the source of the voice. “That’s just my skin,” he responded without missing a beat. He felt a little embarrassed of his predicament though, and although his face was the tiniest bit hot, he managed to keep a neutral expression. Yet again, it seemed like Minato had forgotten his manners. He silently swore to himself he would make an effort to be more polite. Not that he cared for first impressions, but he made it a point to at least let others feel at ease around him. And shielding himself with sarcasm wasn’t the best way to accomplish this. “…Sorry. I’m Arisato Minato. I’m actually trying to swim,” he said, hardly audible. He glanced away again, feeling once more plagued with embarrassment.

“O-Oh.. I’m sorry!”

He suddenly felt embarrassed by his own words, wondering why he said such things. Then again, the male didn’t quite look alright, so did he just say that to avert his attention? A small frown grew upon his lips as he grew more concerned about the other, hoping that it wasn’t a lie. However, the longer he stood there, the more the other seemed to open up to tell him. Something inside of his head must have told him to tell Makoto, because it was suddenly out in the open.

“It’s nice to meet you, Minato~! I’m Makoto Tachibana and I came here to swim too!”

He then smile a little as he spoke to the other, glad that he manage to get something out of the other. More friends in here the better, considering Makoto was the type of person to be kind to everyone and make friends anyways.

“Do you want to swim with me~?”

“I might take you up on that, Makoto. Of course, I too will extend that offer; this island can get very lonely, even with the vast amount of residents.” He smiles at his new roommate. “To be quite honest, I was afraid of having a roommate, but you seem like such a nice person.” his smile widens a bit and he looks pensive for a moment. “If you don’t mind my asking, where are you from?”

“Ahh, thank you! It sounds good! But being lonely isn’t so good. You’re not alone anymore, so if you feel lonely come to me okay?”

He smiled slightly as he spoke to the other, allowing his friendly personality take over. He wanted to make friends with this person, especially now that they are living together. He tilted his head when he listened to the other again, rubbing the back of his head as he did so. He felt a little touched by the other’s words.

“I’m glad you feel that way, though I was a little nervous too. I’m not really used to rooming with strangers..”

He then focuses on the question what was asked of him, allowing himself to remember his past. He missed it a lit, he had to admit…

“I’m from Iwatobi in Japan! What about you?”

He had managed to collide with someone who just so happened to be there whilst he was rushing. Where was Makoto going? To swim after all! His friend Haru was probably already there, since Haru lived and breathed water. He let out a nervous laugh as he stood there, waiting for the other to say something. He just hoped that he didn’t hurt the other in any way, that would be horrible!

The male had gotten himself lost, and now there was a time where he had to ask someone for directions. He was on his way to his swimming club, but since he took a new route, he didn’t know where he was. His eyes scanned around him in search of someone to speak with, approaching the closest person.

“Hello, sorry about bothering you, but could you help me please?”

It had been some time since Minato had attempted swimming. He remembered spending time at the beach with friends, but going out too far in the water made him nervous. He probably wouldn’t have given it a chance if he didn’t have the company with him. Now, since he was totally surrounded by water, it seemed ridiculous that he wouldn’t use this opportunity to teach himself…or at least try to.  He stared uneasily out at the water. He pulled his shirt off and threw it aside along with his beach towel. Carefully, he waded out into the water…and then just stood there. The vast expanse of ocean was overwhelming and disorienting. He couldn’t bring himself to move out any further. Water and sky melted together at the horizon, and Minato felt incredibly uneasy, frozen on the spot. 

Waves lapped steadily against his torso, and the motion made him feel sort of sick. He tried looking down directly in front of him to try and gain his composure. It looked as if this was going to take some time. 

Makoto hadn’t been to the ocean since that day happened, so when he went to the beach, his eyes were fixed onto the sea. It was a ferocious thing, and yet it looked so beautiful from where he was standing. The thought of going into the sea to swim was never in his head, but when he looked at the person who was attempting to, it kind of reminded him of himself. The fact that the other was simply afraid to swim in the sea – or perhaps at all – made Makoto want to get in there with him and build his confidence… It was easier said than done though.

The male had moved closer to the other, close enough to keep his feet dry but able to speak to him. He wanted to know why the other was hesitating like he was, even though he knew it was probably none of his business. Perhaps, if he helped this male in front of him, he was able to overcome his fear with him. It sounded like a better way of overcoming it than just throwing himself in the deep end though.

“Are you alright? You look a little pale…”

He tilted his head to the side as he spoke to the other, his curiosity getting the better of him. There was a frown worn upon the face that usually carries a smile, and it was serious as he watched the other. He just wanted to help him, as well as help himself. This could go either way though. We would just have to wait and see.

“Hello. I do not believe I have met you before; this is strange, seeing as we are sharing an apartment. Never the I suppose I should introduce myself. I am Amodan Trihst, but you may call me Amodan, if you so choose. I promise that I won’t be much trouble–I’m quite reserved. I’m looking forward to staying here though.” He smiles slightly, then shakes his head, and laughs under his breath. “Terribly sorry, I’ve prattled on enough. What is your name, dear friend?” Amodan extends his hand for his new roommate to shake.

Makoto hadn’t been here for long, but he wasn’t expecting someone to room with him either. His eyes fell upon the other as he heard them speaking, a friendly smile worn upon his face. There was never a time where Makoto was mean, so his new roommate was safe in that way. He nodded a little as he took in the other’s words, thinking that it was a rather long introduction.

“I’m Makoto Tachibana, it’s nice to meet you, Amodan.” He chirped happily before speaking to the other once more. “I haven’t met you before either, but I don’t think that we won’t get along. I think we’ll be fine. If you need to speak with anyone, I’ll be more than happy to listen, alright?”

Hey there guys~! I am Sharr, and I am looking forward to being a member here at Wishful Crossing! I am new to this muse – I did actually join a while ago as Giotto – so please bear with me. Anyways, I am willing to thread with anyone when I am accepted, so if you would like to thread when that happens, please like this post! I’ll write starters for you then, or at least message you to plot and then write starters. I’ll be capping at 3 for now, alright~?
