“Hm? Oh, sorry, you were saying?” Mikleo blinks and looks at the stranger in front of him, an ice cream cone in hand. He doesn’t really mean to zone out there, and the Seraph noticed it’s been happening frequently these days. Maybe because of stress? Sort of? This place is kind of a little too much for him to handle alone, what with all these foreign concepts that took him literal days to understand the most basic concept of.

“Oh, crud, my ice cream’s melting–” And, oh, Mikleo’s probably standing in this stranger’s way. Better move, better move…

“What a shame, even with the weather cooling down.”

Amodan didn’t care that he zoned out, it was just small talk; nothing too important or extraordinary. He gave a casual smile. He hadn’t been going anywhere in particular, just enjoying the day.

“Are you new around here? I haven’t seen you around, then again, I am not the most perceptive individual.”

      It wasn’t often she stayed out this late–not as often as she was used to, at least. It was still strange to her, sleeping at night and waking in the day..but this island had a much less harsh sun.. At least it wasn’t dangerous to be out, though she wouldn’t argue that she usually felt just a little tired and uncomfortable from time to time.

      It was this feeling that had her hopping from tree limb to tree limb with the moon overhead, as if she were trying to return to the life she was used to living–albeit with less nervousness, as (from what she knew) there were no exceptionally dangerous trolls traveling the grounds below. So far, the only similarities this life held to her own included the fact that she was able to commonly find items worthy of her piles on the ground..seemingly left behind by someone who no longer wanted or needed them.

      Momentarily dropping to the ground, she noted a small book–one that appeared to be like the journals she was so used to reading. Picking it up, and fearing that it would once again be in a language she couldn’t read, she was surprised to discover that such an idea was false. It was written in her planet’s language–and since she knew she wasn’t the author, that could only mean that there was another troll on this island. That, or someone else had managed to figure out her language and had made it a hobby of writing out an entire journal on..plants? simply for the hell of it. This was highly unlikely, and so, she put it out of her mind.

      Deciding to locate the owner of the journals, she quickly made her way to the bulletin board, eventually seeing the writing of another name in her language–apparently living in the same area as her, but listed under a larger number. Rather, that was what she could only assume.. Hoping she’d be right, she made her way to apartment 204, reaching up to give a gentle knock on the door…

Amodan had been practicing on his viola, when he heard a timid knock on the door. It couldn’t have been Lussuria, than man was a boisterous as could be. Amodan sighed and retired his delicate mahogany instrument for the evening, in it’s velvet case, then casually walked to the door.

Upon gingerly turning the handle, he practically ripped the door open, a bit perturbed that he had been interrupted. 

“Hello...?”

He inquired, before fully realizing who, or rather what, was at the door. A fellow troll. This was in fact so surprising, Amodan completely forgot his annoyance.

“Well ins’t this a surprise. please, won’t you come in!”

He opened the door alittle wider, and swung his free arm into the apartment, welcoming her to his humble abode.

“It’s been a while sense I’ve seen a fellow troll.”

Now he sits, idly watching the clouds go by on a hill near town. Oh how boring these last few weeks were; he had hardly done anything noteworthy. Though speaking of, his journal of various plants that grow on the island was full by this point; he’d have to buy a new notebook soon. One of the ones from his collection had gone missing... oh well, wasn’t a big deal. For now he would simply enjoy the sky, painted with a vast array of colors by the setting sun.

“What a beautiful evening.”

The flood came and went, and all the while Amodan was wholly uncomfortable in a room with every inhabitant of the island chatting away in his ears, but now the storm had passed, both literally and figuratively. He smelled the sweet, but bracing autumn air, and couldn’t wait for the winter; it was his favorite season. Nerves become more sensitive to pain in cold weather, a fact that he simply loved.

Amodan was sitting in his apartment, when it dawned on him that, while he was under that awful curse set upon him by some grey faced creature, he had promised a certain someone that he would visit. Oh what wonderful circumstances were these. He exited his abode, and trotted to Lussuria’s home, where he stood in front of his door for thirty seconds (for good measure) then knocked.

“Hello? Is anyone there? I go caught in the rain, and I don’t feel safe going to my apartment… Hello?”

Amodan had to pat himself on the back for another thrilling performance of his own design. How frightened he sounded, it wouldn’t be long until this desperate fool came running.

In complete honesty, Lussuria is very willing to let people die on his doorstep. It was safer for him, plain and simple. Just because he was considered a mama bird didn’t mean shit. Cold hearted assassin and all. He didn’t get to where he was by giving a shit about people dying. 

However, Amodan had been quite an interesting character upon their first meeting. Insulting him at first and then getting all happy to receive Luss’ address. Why not have fun with him? He didn’t trust anything, especially not people screaming about weaknesses. Oh well, just have a nice night. Maybe he could get something interesting out of it.

Taking his sweet time opening the door, the boxer draped himself against the doorsil with an expression of pity. “Aren’t you just washed up? What an inconvenience. And I was just about to take a bath…” He sighed.

“Would you mind letting me in? As you can imagine this isn’t the best of circumstances.”

If this person would quit being playful and simply let him in, then the games could begin--oh how he missed them, being cooped up on this pitiful island was hardly the environment to play them in.

He exhumed a familiar aura, one that interested her and made her want to destroy. His mannerisms and speech– the words obviously chosen delicately… Yes, she knew these traits all too well.

This would certainly be a fun game.

She smiled, taking his hand and giving it a soft shake.

“My, how lovely of you to come and greet little ol’ me– I apologize for any time you must have moved in your busy schedule~”

“My name is Ishikawa Airi– But you may call me Airi. A pleasure, I’m sure~

She seemed nice enough, yet as suspicious as ever, he studied her carefully. Amodan mimmiced her smile, and pretended to be delighted by meeting her.

“It’s wonderful to meet such an outgoing and friendly person, this island seems to be devoid of them. However, you can rest assured that, if you need someone to talk to, I can be very approachable. After all, Solitude can weigh on us after a while, and as fellow residents we need to have each other’s backs.”

Yes she seemed nice, but something was just slightly off about her, yet he couldn’t quite put his finger on what.

Amodan had noticed this new resident banging on her door a day or two ago. His curiosity got the better of him, so he decided to meet this volatile new variable that had washed up on the shores of Solitude. He did as he always does--put on a warm smile and pleasant demeanor, masking his inner cruelty.

“Good afternoon. I had noticed that you, like everyone else, had washed up on our fair beach not too long ago, and wanted to meet one of the newest residents to our little isle.”

He extends his hand.

“My name is Amodan Trihst, and you are?”

      She hadn’t forgotten about her little bet–the “game” with “Mister Smiley.” Though the invasion of the army of the undead and the rise of their leader had been somewhat distracting, as well as the good few days where she simply hid herself from the world in fear of possibilities, she’d been keeping an eye out. She’d been watching every resident she could find, looking into their personalities and minds, occasionally peeking at memories to try and give herself clues. But in every mind she found herself access to, no one was matching up. The emotions they felt throughout the day simply weren’t compatible with the messages sent and actions made of her “mystery man.”

      That, or she simply couldn’t find a memory in their mind that showed anything to do with the images she’d been sent, or the murders taking place.

      Looking through the infuriating messages again, she came to notice something she hadn’t realized before. Though it may have been a coincidence, she couldn’t help but get a sense of doubt while looking at a certain repetitive emoticon. It was in his messages, in his pictures, in his alias.. Though it could be labeled as a serial killer’s mark, it seemed just a little too convenient to her. It almost seemed as if something was being hidden behind it, like her easily created facades.  This seemed especially so in the last message that was sent to her..stuffed full of how “jubilant” and “happy” he was to have her play. It rubbed her the wrong way, reading over it.

      There was no one on this island that she could sense that felt so wonderful about a discovery game. No normal person would talk this way, either, unless they were somewhere along the lines of insane, or they were lying. Perhaps it wouldn’t be a stretch, then, to say that this person could have not been feeling anything, at all–

Amodan had just finished purchasing a new notebook, and a few pencils, and set out into the woods. He was setting out to find more plants to catalog, as he had been doing for close to a week now. As he pushed aside some brush to enter the wilderness, he had an odd feeling that someone was following him. He wrote it off as nothing more than how tired he was. Sleeping during the night was taking a toll on him, but he shook it off and pressed forward.

As he bobbed and weaved through the thick foliage, he felt no sorrow, no happiness, no anger. He could not feel, but that was hardly common knowledge.

After roughly thirty minutes, he arrived at a particularly nice clearing, teaming with dozens of different plants to take notes on. He stopped quickly, straightened his bow tie, and set to work.

“Number 104; Five petals, royal purple color, light green stem...”

You stop by next to him, since like you’ve finally arrived at the town. It was a rather peculiar sight in your opinion but you were quite curious of what there might be there

“Thanks again for guiding me here Amadon”

“It was my pleasure; it’s always nice to meet someone new--a luxury that is growing more scarce as the days pass. There’s a bulletin board somewhere in town, it will tell you what apartment you will be housed in. Most everyone is placed with a roommate, so I would get used to the idea now if I were you.”

Amodan waved one final goodbye, then walked back toward the beaches.

“I hope we can see each other again soon. Friends are the only commodity worth anything on this lonely rock.”
