OurClan Character Design Contest!

hiii i was really on the fence if i wanted to do one of these or not!! but im being brave... i really need help designing some siblings lol

so my upcoming 5 kit litter has been drawn here before, but im having a lot of trouble being happy with a design for 3 of the babies. the other 2 im pretty satisfied with, but these guys. they are making things difficult!

^Hawthornfog: male, short fur, confident, very clever^

^Jasmineflame: female, short fur, cunning, masterful storyteller^

^Lilypond: male, short fur, strict, masterful storyteller^

ALSO. their mom's name is Tarantula, if that helps with ideas or anything at all lol

1st place: Your design will be made official! you will be credited upon their first in comic appearance, and on their toyhouse profile! Also a fullbody drawing of one of your characters!

2nd place: Fullbody drawing of one of your characters and a big thank you!

3rd place: a bust drawing of one of your characters and a big thank you!

RULES:

Nothing inappropriate, obviously

you can design one of them, two of them, or all three!

have fun with the designs! try to keep them recognizable, but you can shift colors a bit or whatever u need to do (looks at Lily's weirdly yellow ""white"" patches.)

you are allowed to and encouraged to change eye colors a bit if you want! my speech bubbles are based on eye color so the more different eye colors i have, the better

PLEASE MAKE SURE THEIR POWER IS RELATED TO THEIR NAME IN SOME WAY. THIS IS CRUCIAL TO DESIGNING AN OURCLAN DESIGN LOL. The power can be based off their prefix OR suffix!

The power should not drastically alter their body. typically the powers are more of addition to the cat, not a complete warping of their body, if that makes sense. they should be unmistakably a cat, first and foremost

Please, please try and keep the design relatively simple, for my sanity, lol <3

Winner will be based on which i think will fit into the world the best!

Hawthornfog - he/him

Cloud and Fog manipulation

Can summon a thick fog that is perfect for stealth and hunting

Can float for short periods of time

As an angsty teenager he uses these powers to avoid the adults in his life

Way too overconfident for his own good

Jasmineflame - she/her

A masterful storyteller who can make whatever she dreams up an illusion for others to see

These illusions are not tangible and you can walk right through them

Can make nightmares just as well as dreams

Often suffers from bouts of insomnia

Eyes take on a golden hue when summoning an illusion

Lilypond - he/him

Ability to walk on water

Cannot breathe underwater but can telepathicly talk with fish

He likes hearing the fish gossip

Honestly prefers the fish's company to that of other cats

Has the cat version of a mullet

suffix meanings!

redid all my suffix meanings and put em in a google doc!

all suffixes have at least two meanings (except for brindle, dapple, fleck, freckle, fur, pelt, speck, speckle, splotch, spot, and spots). they have been divided into traits and skills.

on desktop, use ctrl+f to search for specific suffixes and find all their meanings!

all suffix meanings are subjective- they're my list of suffixes with my interpretations. it's a basic resource, and i mostly use it as a jumping off point for developing a character's personality or finding a name that fits them better!

it’s already canon that catnip is hard to access in clan territories and i know the erins mostly write around that now but how funny would it be to have a kittypet character who is a catmint dealer. like in addition to the fact that it’s better worldbuilding to make the clans interact with individuals outside their culture and explore how non clan cats live. there could be a stoner kittypet character

thinking about that scene in graystripe’s vow where he looks at spotfur and recognizes the tiny similarities between her and her ancestor, frostfur (her great grandmother) and it’s making my heart hurt like

imagine graystripe watching these multiple generations of thunderclan growing up and being able to see his passed friends and kin in every single one of them

lilyheart passes by and for a brief heartbeat he thought his mother, willowpelt, was passing in front of him 

flipclaw sprints past and graystripe’s breath gets caught in his throat because he thought he just saw dustpelt alive and well

snaptooth puffs out his chest and graystripe has to shake his head to clear his thoughts because he swore his former mentor, lionheart, was suddenly in camp with him

how many times did he accidentally call alderheart or sparkpelt, fireheart
