So since you made that compilation post with some of TD’s most ridiculous theories I decide to make one myself but of some of their biggest offenses, some are obviously worse than other. Buckle up because this is going to be LONG.
In no particular order:
-Photoshopping Bring Beth Back over Lebron’s I Can’t Breathe tshirt. Not only that but they also tweeted it to TWD official twitter account.
-Appropriated BLM to create BethGreeneMatters blog.
-Got angry that Tyreese got a whole episode for his death while Beth didn’t. Ignoring the fact that Tyreese never got a whole episode dedicated to having his own storyline like lily white Beth did.
-They celebrated Noah’s death because they thought that with him being gone they were a step closer to getting Beth back.
-Were convinced for the longest time that Morgan was going to be involved with Beth coming back and even believed that Morgan’s solo episode back in season 6 was actually a Beth centric episode. Once again dismissing a black man and his role in TWD for their unimportant white fave.
-Not TWD, but they insisted that a latina character in FTWD (Liza) was actually just a Beth proxy and only there to make people think about Beth. Another character of color that they stripped of any significance to give it to Beth.
-To this day they still say that Beth is Andrea’s replacement just because of some similarities in their physical appearance, just being white and blonde, while ignoring the two women of color who have actually gotten bits of Andrea’s arc, Michonne being Rick’s partner and Sasha getting the sniper trait.
-Moving onto misogyny, they have called Carol old and ugly for years, also saying how she is too cold and they don’t like her because she is a killer. At the same time stressing that Beth was pure and innocent etc, but in all their Beth comes back head canons she is suddenly a badass who is going to take down: Terminus (like Carol did), The Wolves (like Carol did), the Saviors and lately Negan himself. Seems like they want Beth to be Carol while hating the latter.
-Implied Rosita was to much of a slut to be worthy of Daryl, promoting the over sexualization of latinas. Racism and misogyny all in one.
-Said that Aaron/Eric kiss, the first m/m kiss TWD ever had, was a Bethyl reference, effectively comparing an age appropriate relationship between two men to that of a 40+ years old man with a 17 year old girl.
-Bullied a gay kid and went so far as to tell him that he deserved to have a dead twin for not liking Bethyl.
-Told a gay man that they were as oppressed being TD as he was for being gay.
-Said that even if the show made Daryl gay and Daryl/Jesus canon he would still be in love with Beth.
-Compared Denise, a mentally ill lesbian to bland ass Beth.
-Compared Rick/Michonne a wonderful interracial relationship between a dark skinned black woman an a white guy to Bethyl. Also tried to devalue Rick/Michonne by saying that once Beth came back and Bethyl became canon they’d be the main romance of the show.
-Were happy when Beth was assaulted at Grady because apparently that made her sexually mature in the audience’s eyes.
-Defended one of their own (sail-not-drift, prev. bethgreenesgirlgang) when she admitted to getting off to extremely underage non-con, aka kid rape, without being a victim of CSA. In fact, they organized a secret campaign to send anons to BGGG and other bloggers pretending to be victims of CSA to make people not turn against her, even though actual victims of CSA were horrified and many self harmed/attempted suicide and later on left the fandom.
-Have several bloggers in their fandom who draw Daryl as a huge hulking guy while drawing Beth as the tiniest, most prepubescent girl ever, having sex and in other sexual situations.
-Romantize Daryl being abusive towards Beth in Still, he put her in a chokehold and forced her to look as he shot a walker and got all up in his face and screamed at her. Hella romantic yo.
-Linked TD beliefs to the Jewish faith and asked why you’re dumb for believing in one but not the other. To add to the antisemitism they blocked someone who informed one blogger that she was promoting a racist and anti semitic youtuber. The answer boiled down to”idgaf”.
-Compared “haters” to hitler and trump while most of their beliefs are actually aligned with them. Seeing all the racism, misogyny and homophobia the exhibit.
There’s probably a lot more but I wanted to cover the big ones. Oh wait, this is dumb but whatever, all those plastic spoons they bought for their dumb af campaign helped to fuck over the environment even more.
This was nice. Like a walk down memory lane. Forgive me, but I didn’t know about them saying Liza was a Beth proxy? I mean, they both had the hospital outfit, but do they represent Beth too? Or did I miss something? Anyways, thanks for this. It’s always nice to have a reminder of the genuinely horrible things they’ve said and done.
