I'm so bad at looking through blogs but i've found myself very interested in Bro x Grandpa Harley stuff, don't know if you've done that before.. just anything related to that would be nice ewe (even a little slice of life idea)
"Oh, darling did I remember to pack the..."
"Umbrella's in the trunk."
"Ah, read my mind, sharp as a tack, dearest."
"Mhm."
"I would lose my head if it weren't attached, I thank the stars every day I have you here to--"
"Grandpa!!" Jade whined from the seat next to him, and Dave winced. "You promised we'd go to the beach, we've been waiting all morning! Stop flirting with your boyfriend and let's go!"
Mister Harley's eyes twinkled in the rear view mirror and he started the ignition without a word. Jade sighed deeply and rested her chin on the door, pressing her nose to the window. Dave blinked at the exchange, and looked at Bro in the passenger seat, his arms folded.
He was looking back at Dave out of the corner of his eye, a sliver of orange glinting in a shared joke. Dave ever so slightly quirked his eyebrow and watched Bro shift forward again, his shoulders shaking for only a moment.
The drive in was pretty chill, Bro turned on the radio to some old jazz station, which made Mister Harley happy-- obviously, he started singing along. The dude sounded exactly like Frank Sinatra, it was wild, and Bro was bobbing his head along, obviously enjoying every minute of it. Mister Harley reached down and grabbed Bro's hand, kissing the back of his knuckles, and Bro let him.
Dave would probably get used to his Bro having a boyfriend and being thoroughly romanced, probably, he hoped. It was so fucking bizarre though, he couldn't think of any other way to describe it.
What if they got married? He'd have a sister? Dave looked at Jade and tried to imagine them all around a thanksgiving dinner, her grandpa carving the bird and Bro placing a jello mould in the center of the table. In a 50's style housewife dress, for some reason.
He shivered, desperately trying to shake the image from his brain. Ew, ewww.
Once they pulled in, Dave was almost vibrating with anticipation.
"Don't worry, lad. We'll be set up quick as a flash." Mister Harley said, obviously mistaking Dave's current state for excitement for the beach. "You and Jade just have to grab a chair... the adults can carry the rest."
"Sure, old man. Whatever you say." Dave had the door open before Bro could bark at him to be respectful, and he hopped out of the car with a deep exhale. Finally.
Bro was in front of him before he could blink, and he dropped a ball cap onto Dave's head, then tugged it over his eyes. "Behave."
"I will, jesus christ, will you lay off?" Dave grumbled, shoving at Bro's muscular arm to no avail.
Mister Harley passed a single chair to Jade, and then loaded himself up with the remaining 99% of gear in the trunk. Dave and Bro blinked at the scene for a second before simultaneously reaching for the various beach related paraphernalia swallowing Mister Harley up. The man laughed good naturedly and dodged their attempts to ease any of his burden, which was honestly impressive, he was easily side stepping Bro's flashsteps too.
Dave's Bro backed off with a grumble and held out a hand to Jade, curling his hand around the strap over her shoulder, and easily lifting the chair off of her.
"Thanks, Mister Strider!" She said brightly, skipping up ahead to the warm sands of the beach.
Bro just shook his head at her back, then nudged Dave ahead. "Go find us a spot."
"Will do." And he was off, hands in his pockets as he nonchalantly surveyed the coastline for a primo locale to Beach Bum it up.
He didn't look back at the adults. Fuck. That. He'd made that mistake too many times, and he was officially scarred for life.
Bro giggled behind him, and he hurried the fuck up.
