Thatâs what people do who love you. They put their arms around you and love you when youâre not so lovable.

loving my new journal!
I GET SO ANGRY WHEN PEOPLE ARE DISMISSIVE OF DISNEY PRINCESSES WHO ARENâT ELSA BECAUSE THEY FELL IN LOVE AND GOT MARRIED. JUST BECAUSE A BOY WAS INVOLVED DOESNâT MEAN THEYâRE AUTOMATICALLY USELESS OR DIDNâT SAVE THEIR OWN DAY SHUT THE FUCK UP WITH THAT NONSENSE I SWEAR TO GOD
I still see people doing this and it pisses me off to no end.
Same here.Â
And what is even more frustrating is that they donât realize that Elsa wasnât even looking for love so the argument doesnât really hold water
Exactly. Thatâs what bothers me about this idea of Elsa being âstrong and independentâ because she doesnât fall in love. She never showed any interest in it. The story never brought it up. Yes, she had that line about not marrying a man you just met, but that was directed at her sister. In fact, that scene is the only time I recall Elsa ever bringing up romantic love, and none of it was in relation to herself.Â
If you had to praise a princess for not falling in love or getting married, Merida would be a better choice. Her movie actually focuses on that. I mean, Iâd argue that Merida simply didnât want to marry at that point in life, but still. She refuses to marry, and doesnât. Or, hell, what about Mulan? She doesnât impress the matchmaker. She doesnât get a husband. But she does have a love interest, so maybe she doesnât count?Â
Personally, though, Iâm tired of this idea that falling in love and getting married automatically makes a woman âweakerâ. In a good relationship, it shouldnât. The problem is when a female character is demoted to âlove interestâ and nothing more. I donât think that applies to any of the princesses.Â
And the thing is that all the princesses CHOSE to be with their romantic interest. There was not forcing the girls to choose. Tiana chose Naveen. Rapunzel chose Flynn. Cinderella chose the Prince. Belle chose the Beast. Yes, there should be less stories in which a woman ends up with a man but that doesnât mean itâs a bad thing for women to fall in love. If a woman wants to be with a man she loves, itâs her choice. It doesnât make them weaker in any way and thinking it does it a really sexist idea.
You ever just be mad at ya self for not moving forward and being better in your life
