Its time for me to move on... I love weddings. I loved my wedding, I loved the wedding of my best friend, and I love watching weddings but now I must build a house. I am hoping soon to get a job within the wedding/ event planning to keep up with this and I think that I would be great with that but I also need a mental break from weddings for a while.
I have learned from my own wedding that it wont always be your family standing next to you at the end of the day but to trust in love and trust in friendship. I have had a ton of ups and downs with my immediate family and once again it is the holiday season and they have choose to be angry, bitter, and closed off. I will take this as a personal challenge to be happy, spirited, and welcoming to everyone. I love the holidays and I will be taking this second opturtunity of not spending it with my parents to show the people who will always stand by no matter what.
Lets build my big beautiful house! :)
ps isnt this guy cute! I found him in St.Thomas on our honeymoon.

HELLO! We are home from our 7 day cruise and I had a blast being able to spend some great quality time with my husband! Day one I had some trouble with the motion of the ocean but I got through it and we faired pretty well.... we hit up Princess Cays an island in the bahamas and spent the day on the beach, got in some good snorkeling and drinking and then floated back to the ship. Headed out to sea and missed dinner because the hubs was both looking and feeling a little green... no worries I maxxed out the room service and called it an early night. Then we hit up St. Maartin and did some more snorkeling, this time we went out on an excursion and the best we found was a long metal pole and an iguana in the rocks above us. Met a couple from Colorado who was super fun and they told us about their adventures on their own honeymoon. (( a little too intense for us)) back to the ship and back to dinner. We met our table mates Shaun and Brigette and they are from Canada! EH!? they were fun as well, we headed up to the night club to make fun of kids for a while and then burned the midnight oil after they went home we got our dance on :)
St. Thomas was our next stop and I was super excited to go back... one of my friends said it well "went there as a girlfriend, left as a fiance, and came back as a wife" Well said Kasey! We headed back to do some shopping and then to the top of Point Pleasant. This is where he asked me to be his wife.... I'd be lying if I said I didnt tear up a few times just thinking about all this. This was also thanksgiving and well.... after a day in the super hot sun we headed back to the pool and watched some football.... fell asleep and missed dinner.... but thankfully the buffet had turkey and was empty, so we had a nice little dinner to ourselves. ((new tradition: he want asian noodles every year! we'll see.))
Grand Turk! or Grand Grumpy for me! ha! By friday I was missing my memory foam bed and super amazing pillows, even though we were sleeping every night with the balcony door open and the waves of the passing ocean were lulling us to sleep I just couldnt get over how rock hard our bed was feeling. :( So we hit land and thought we left the money on the ship... fought the crowds back only to learn it was in our bag the whole time. The surf was really high and a lot of "locals" didnt recommend going into the water to snorkel so since we had our own gear my Super Amazing Hubs decided we just needed to walk the island and follow the beach. Well I'm glad I trusted him. Sure it was a little colder than St. Maartin but we found some of the most amazing reefs I have ever seen! After swimming over about 25 feet of shallow reef we finally hit deeper waters with bigger coral and some of the most amazing sea life. ((side note: Bless my husbands heart for swimming me over the 25 feet of shallow reef. I'm a bit of a scardy cat when it comes to being jabbed, poked, stung, or scraped by the sea life and I ended up not even putting on my fins till after we covered this area.)) Finally the cold waters got to me and just as I ran out of film in my underwater camera I lost feeling in my freezing finger tips. We headed in and took the 15 min beach walk back to Margaritaville. ((ha)) after finally getting some flavor with onion rings and hot wings we headed back to the boat. Another day at sea and we finally reached home.
Its good to be back with my family ((Syler, Sooks, and Remmi)) and we shared some of the most amazing snuggles last night :) I'll share some of my photos from the trip here soon and a "pupdate" on how big my Remmi has gotten since we left his furry butt.
Missed you all. Feel free to come help with grocery shopping, laundry, or thank you cards! I'll cook for you! Oh and dont forget decorating for the holidays or packing for my best friends wedding in Georgia this weekend!
pssst: yes. we did throw up gang signs in my wedding photos. :)
Let's hope your wedding photos turn out as great as mine have so far! Wow. Fun fact: all the groomsmen were given swords by my husband that had their names and our wedding date engraved on them! All these men have stood by our sides and will always be a part of our family. Each bridesmaid was given a special chunky bracelet and had a special charm on their flowers as a thank you from me because I couldn't have gotten through the day without them!
this is what happens when you mix dubstep, a party bus, and a bridal party. enjoy.
Well my friends... the big day has come and gone! I thought I should show everyone my pre-view of our wedding pictures before I fall into a deep nap for a few days ;)
It was everything and more than what I could have ever asked for. It lasted all of 2 seconds as well, sure we had some hiccups along the way but to see how it all came together so well I believe it made the feeling on that day much better!
I dont believe my husband ever got off the dance floor.... just kidding he was a great host with me and we hopefully got to reach out and thank everyone who shared our day with us. What a fantastic bunch of friends and family. I could feel so much love from everyone on that day that my heart was literally overflowing.
Soon I will have most of the items I created for my own wedding up in my new and improved Etsy store!
Love you all and I will post more later... nap time!!!
Oh crap
My last Tuesday as a Miss
Well folks we are really getting down to the wire here... Seriously 4 days till the big day!
So when you get this close to the wedding of your dreams you have days where you just need to cuss someone out.
Yesterday I almost did just that... along with almost flipping tables, knocking over fake wedding cakes, and slapping the wig off of a mannequin., But I controlled myself. Let me explain: So the girl who did my alterations for my wedding dress works with the bridal shop where I purchased it. From the start they messed things up, by ordering the wrong dress color (all white, my dress is ivory and pewter) Well I was supposed to pick up my dress from them since they steamed it... well by 10:30 am they still had not steamed it and I was there to pick it up. It was so bad that the girl didnt even let me see it out of the bag. Wow was I pissed. So I told her I wasnt leaving without my dress and she could steam it while I waited.... so a good 30 min later she came back down with it and fed me some lines so I grabbed it out of her hands and walked out the door. I hate this place. Seriously. My dress still has wrinkles and I will be contacting them after the wedding or I will look to social media to make sure people know how they like to do business.
Today my cuss out moment comes from our officiant. Since he has a theater background he feels that everything needs to be a production... sorry dude this is real life not another show.... I know that you can turn it off because one of my best friends doesnt make everything dramatic.... but she would like to make life a Disney musical and I am completely okay with that! :) haha But Back to this guy... so his original draft for the wedding was about 10 pages long and he said take out what you want and add in if you want too.... So I cut it down to 4 pages. large print... and well now he is criticizing how short it is.... Me and my love are not dramatic long winded people... we are short and to the point and we like things simple and we want everyone to have fun... well its not fun if everyone is sleeping!!! Oh also dont forget that on the first when we had our rehearsal with him he was like "dont worry! we have a few months left!" eeerrrttt no actually we do not. Get it together man! So now 4 days before we say I do I am almost in an email battle with him because he keeps getting things wrong and keeps asking if he can "add a little flair" to the ceremony. NO. I WANT TRADITIONAL LOVELY SIMPLE WEDDING VOWS. the end. :)
off to do some finishing touches... I'll probably talk to you after the wedding... XXOOXXOO
so not everyone loves wedding cake, and not everyone has the room in their bellies for cake... so we got "to-go" boxes for the cupcakes!!! yay! I have to make the sign for that this week... maybe today!
Thank you amazon for shipping these super fast to me!!
This guy is all packed up and ready to go... its the first thing I made for the wedding and probably the only thing that stuck to my original idea of burlap and peacock feathers.... I still love it and I cant wait to use this container afterwards for decorating haha :)
Not sure how I feel about this sign I made... at first I liked it then my fiancé told me it looked very halloween-ish. I thought that it was because I set it up near some pumpkins to show him but the more I look at it the more I see hocus pocus. crap. crap. crap... Looks like I'm headed to the craft store today!!
Well we have hit the 14 day mark today! As I write this I'm watching 4 weddings and crying my eyes out. I'm not sad I promise, just every day that gets closer I realize that I am marrying the man of my dreams. Sure it may seem a little fast but I cant even explain what love would feel like if I didnt include him. Every argument we may have and every laugh we share keeps my heart beating with his. He is everything that my soul has searched for all my life. We share three of the most beautiful dogs and eventually a growing family I couldnt be more excited to see what the future brings us.
OK sorry had to get that cry out of the way ((if I cry now maybe I wont cry so much at the wedding)) ha
So this is a peek at what my "wedding room" looks like right now. Almost everything is packed up and ready to be delivered to the venue. Let me explain how I have been able to have a whole room dedicated to just wedding stuffs.... we live in a 4 bed 3 bath house and the guest rooms are completely shut off from the rest of the house so these rooms sit empty we had roommates but they have grown up and flown the coup so when I started thinking of all the things I wanted to do for the wedding I decided to use one of these rooms for everything I was collecting. Then I had my bridal shower and gifts started coming in for the wedding and I decided to use the other room for the boxes I'll show you that room a little bit later :) I also have an office but thats filled with my hoarding of craft supplies. oops. :)
My dress also stays in this room all fluffy and pretty. :)
You may love your wedding dress.... But you don't actually feel that "oh crap" moment until it fits like a second skin. I had my second and final dress fitting yesterday and I had my "oh crap" moment. Not like "oh crap I'm never going to date anyone else" it's more of a "oh crap it's real" moment.
