so.... my twitter has suddenly become really clustered, it’s like going to a warzone... Me being an introvert makes everything harder ;;; I’m glad that my fire emblem charm pre-orders have gone so well, but there is always a price to pay for such success. I HAVE NO TIME. It’s been a week since I got the time to draw, and no;;; I shouldn’t be here because I have at least 10 orders I need to prepare for shipment... I am scared of all those free sketches I will be drawing too. It’s up to 40 sketches and I’m holding myself back for an heart attack, not to mention the 300 free stickers I need to make. Baccano please save my life

btw the baccano op was once again played on japanese television. It didn’t catch as much attention as last time, probably because the program wasn’t popular or that people are so used to the bgm by now xD

Baccano anime 13eps marathon on nico

After hours of trials and errors, I finally found a way to get vpn to work and gain accessibility to region-locked content on nicovideo. Guess who will be off marathoning baccano alongside with thousands of people in Japan for 6 hours straight on Sunday \o/. The past anime marathon broadcasts ranged from 80k-200k watchers, so it wouldn’t be surprising if baccano has around 100k+ people entering to watch.This is so exciting! It’s been 10 years since the anime first started to air and on this very Sunday, it will get back the spotlight it deserves!

If anyone wants to join and live outside Japan, feel free to send me a msg! Please consider the timezones as well, it will be very very early/late for people in America. Also please respect that it’s actually restricted to the japanese community only, what I am going to do is definitely not good. I wont tag nor share this purposely. Please understand^^

I’m very interested in this event - well, I unfortunately don’t have VPN so my interest is largely about the event itself and the Japanese buzz for Baccano! watching - and I have to thank your posts and the twitter tag for bringing it to my attention. Only the airing 13 episodes, you say? Well, that makes sense. 

I think this is news worth me sharing with the twitter followers of the Baccano! wiki, and sharing over at /r/baccano so as to keep other fans updated about Baccano! events going on in Japan. Do you know if there are any articles about it (accessible w/o VPN) I can link to? Oh, guess I can search for official tweets. 

This is exciting! Please do keep us updated on how it goes (if you want to/don’t mind, of course). 

Do you know the details behind this ‘past anime marathon’ at all? I imagine this isn’t the first time it’s happened, but I’m curious as to the criteria and how/why Baccano! was selected for one of the shows. (Popularity poll contest?). Tell me everything.

I actually gave up earlier to acquire a working Japanese vpn, the Japanese buzz for Baccano was already enough for me to get excited that the series finally is available for the public eye again after ten years. It is a part of a celebration calling out anime that was first aired ten years ago, and something along this line: 同級生アニメ Same school grade anime(?). Notable animes that are a part of the celebration is: Lucky Star, Zero no Tsukaima, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, Kaiji and Higurashi. And yes, the OVAs arent included, I have no idea why tho. My guess it that they are DVD-only specials (taken from MAL).

Yes, I would appreciate that this piece of information shared among Baccano fans! I need this series to gain more recognition so I can secure all the baccano novels in english. I’LL DO WHATEVER TO MAKE 1 MORE BOOK SELL

I agree!!! This is so exciting and there are lots of Japanese Baccano fans who have been sharing this info on social media! Baccano marathon on Nicovideo

Here is the link to the broadcast. It will be hosted on Sunday 6pm GMT+9, and will include episodes 1-13. I believe every Baccano fan ought to know that this is happening in Japan!!  Other streams had up to 100k-150k people entering but around 40k would be watching. I have no idea how many views baccano is going to fetch but anything over 100 sounds like good news to me＼(^ω^＼)

* The broadcast is not available outside Japan. 

A working vpn may be used to bypass the region restrictions, but I won’t recommend it (even tho I am doing it myself). Caution: making/using an account without having a japanese vpn will block Japan-only contents, and the message below will show up in either Japanese or English.

Everything will be in Japanese, so please refrain from using English in the chat.

Some misc. Baccano stuff this week

The バッカーノ (Baccano in Japanese) tag on twitter has been quite active recently! 3 days ago they had gun’s and roses as bgm on live national television (someone mentioned fuji TV but I’m not 100% sure). I believe it was played when the fireworks were shown during a summer festival somewhere in Japan. Tweets about the opening kept flooding in, and the response was incredibly positive.

Enami Katsumi (illustrator of the LNs) mentioned that he is happy when the books he had worked on turns into anime. He said Baccano anime is WOWOW. I agree, I agree very much!!!

The Baccano marathon-run that starts at 6pm on Sunday next week (Japan time) has reached 13.5k ppl planning to watch it!! 7 days left and the number is rising steadily~ The actual number will be much higher since the amount above are the ppl who have booked to be notified when the streaming airs (called timeshift on the site). If I somehow can bypass that with VPN I would love to join them, however I heard that VPNs don’t work on nico D: Nicovideo is the Japanese equivalent to YouTube. It’s their largest video streaming site.

Please don’t pay any attention to this, but I- I have a feeling that b-baccano still has its fair chance of g-getting another season…. I HAVE NOT SPOKEN :x

Even tho I can’t watch the baccano 13 eps marathon run on nicovideo, 27/8 (region-locked duh!). I am still waiting for the number of people adding it to their “timeshift” to hit 10k before it airs (currently ~9200). It’s quite a promising number and I am hopeful that baccano will rise from the ashes. This is the person who has been stalking the jap/eng baccano tag on twitter.

There are a decent amount of japanese fans and I feel so connected to them /cry (don’t even mention the english tag, it’s usually dead, with occasional yelling from me ofc)

Only Lua, Carol and Monica lineart left before I start coloring the first batch of baccano ladies. 13 is quite the unlucky number but I want to draw the guys soon.
