Oh! Itâs about a half wolf half husky who is rejected by humans and wolves but then goes on to save the town and become the hero of humans all over! ITâs really good

The creativityâs just blowing me away.
Nah, nothing against simplicity. How bigâs that telescope, though? Does it really deserve its name?
I think itâs the practicality of the name is what makes it beautiful. But most telescopes donât really have creative names.
It is really big! Plus they are looking at dead solar systems through it which is cool. Here is a scale picture of it, next to the coliseum and the Extremely Large Telescope thatâs being built.
Rabies? Why would Pen it have rabies? Itâs fine. It wasnât rabid. Technically
You never know what has rabies. Itâs just always better to be safe than sorry right? But itâs good you donât have rabies!

Honestly not really. I donât really watch many moviesâŚ
Oh... Well, itâs a good one! Highly recommneded.Â
Me too, though I hear Iceland is very nice. Do you want to see the Northern lights?
I do! I hear itâs supposed to be magical. Iâve wanted to see them ever since watching Balto. You know that scene where he set up the glass bottles to look like the northern lights?Â
Very nice.Â
Sadly I donât have the time to visit the Slavic States, though if I did then I would.
Oh. Well I hope you find the time soon.
Britain. But Iâve always wanted to go to the Slavic states.
Oh was it nice? I want to go to Ireland and France some day. Do you plan on going to the Slavic tates any time soon?
Yes. A long time ago.
Oh! Where did you go? Iâve always wanted to, maybe someday.
Super Smash Library || Cole & Naomi
Cole had spotted Naomi when she walked into the library, but was actually surprised when she found her way over to Coleâs table to sit down and talk to him. He had been lounging before she had gotten there. He had been slouched in his chair, his legs spread across to the chair on the other side of the table, pretending to read a book, but his mind was on so many other things. But after her arrival he quickly straightened, pulling his legs away so she had a place to sit and sitting him straight in his own chair. âYeah sure! Study hall too huh?â
Cole had always used study hall to catch up on sleeping. That was of course before the vampirism. Since then, heâs used it to read a few supernatural books, people watch, and very rarely get a head start on homework. The homework thing was still a work in progress on his part, but every now and then he thought about getting some stuff done. Most of the time he never actually got to doing it, but the thought had to count for something right? Cole was pretty sure it did.
Every one nice. Ha. That was a laugh. But Naomi was new here. She still had a chance to become one of the people everybody was nice to. Or at least one that people ignored, like Cole. Itâs hard to be mean to people you donât even know exist. âThey can be. Depending on who you meet.â Cole smiled a reassuring smile at her, but didnât think it was super convincing. For someone who prided himself on optimism, Cole sure had a problem expressing it these past couple of weeks. Not with everything going on.
He was getting ready to ask how Naomiâs first day was going when he heard the laughter exploding from a few tables over. He glanced at the counter, where the library usually was, but found that the spot was empty. Great. He looked over at the table to see Lana, new head cheerleader he believed, with a few of the football players. Cole knew the name of all the players on the team, but when they were all wearing their letterman jackets he couldnât tell any of them apart. Cole was ready to ignore it when he heard Rezaâs name. Cole froze, listening. He couldnât hear everything they said. It was moments like these that he missed his super hearing. But he knew what they were talking about. The writing that they had been putting on Rezaâs locker. The party. Whatever happened with Kloe today in the lunch room that Kloe denied. Cole was so fed up with them. He hated listening to them make fun of his friends. Anybody for that matter. He remembered talking to Ana, her telling him to stand up for his friends. And finally he cracked.
âHey!â Cole pushed out of his chair and walked up to them, he tried staying calm. He shoved his hands in his pockets and took a deep, unnecessary breath. âLeave them alone.â The group all turned and laughed at him, then one stood up and walked up to Cole, getting way too close to him. Despite himself, Cole flinched backwards. The group all laughed at Cole again. âAnd who the hell are you? His boyfriend?â Another laugh. Like a boyfriend was some kind of sick joke.
âNo. Iâm a friend. And Iâm telling you to leave him alone.â Cole finally recovered and took another step forward, refusing to budge this time. âOr what? Youâll tell the teacher on us?â The guy reached his arm out to pat Coleâs shoulder but Coleâs hand was out of his pocket and holding his wrist in a secondâs time. The guy struggled to break free from Coleâs grip, but honestly, that wasnât even possible.
âJust leave him alone and we wonât have to find outâ Cole breathed out, quietly enough that only the guy could hear. Not his friends. Letâs not turn this into a power play. Cole didnât want to fight. He just wanted them to leave his friends alone. But then the guy was throwing a punch at Cole, and Cole was dodging out of the way and shoving the guy across a library table, sending bookbags and papers flying everywhere. Another one of the jocks stood up and came rushing over to throw a punch, but just like the last Cole easily dodged it and grabbed the guyâs arm, shoving him aside and kicking his knee out from behind him. By now all the kids were watching the library teacher was rushing over. And Cole looked around in horror as he suddenly realized that he was anything but invisible anymore.
Right before the security guards rushed in to grab the three kids, Cole glanced at the popular table and spotted Lana, the third football jock, and a few of the other cheerleaders looking up at him like he was a mad man. In one final moment of bravery he pointed at Lana, âAnd you leave Kloe alone. Sheâs a better cheerleader than youâll ever be.â
"Yup." Naomi agreed, pulling books out of her bag and setting them on the table. "Study hall. I don't mind. It's better than some elective I don't need." The trouble with transferring schools mid-semester was how far behind she'd gotten. Ashkent Creek wasn't following the same curriculum that the Boston school system had been. As she'd never transferred mid-year before, she didn't know what to expect when going into the new school, but she did know it wasn't this. Some of her classes were going over material she'd already, and others were on something completely different. Or maybe her school in Boston had gone over it but she'd just skipped that day. She'd skipped many days, despite the fact that she was always claiming she was going for the 'perfect attendance' award. Her parents believed the lie, that was all that mattered. The jokes at the other table were being loud. Naomi ducked her head out of habit, were they talking about her? Were they already going to start being mean? Her heart raced, but she managed to keep her face blank as she stared at the books in front of her. This was fine. She just had to catch up with work and they wouldn't mess with her. She paused. Who cared if they messed with her? She was powerful now she cou- Cole was standing up now, jumping out of his seat and headed straight for the letterman crowd. What was he doing? Naomi turned in her seat, her eyes following him as he confronted them. It took a second for Naomi to realize what was happening. Cole was defending whoever those kids had been laughing about. He wasn't going to stand for bullying! A smile pulled at her face. He wasn't standing up for himself, that much was clear when they asked if he was his boyfriend. She wondered who the he was? Maybe she shouldn't have been ignoring them, but be more ready for action. Sure she could take action if there was a wish, but Cole didn't have wish-granting powers... at least she didn't think so. He was just taking a stand for something he saw as wrong. Naomi shuffled to her feet, tripping over a chair she didn't notice in her haste. Luckily she was able to catch herself before face planting, and with all the attention in the room fixed on Cole and the joke, there was a high chance no one noticed. She took a step towards them, ready to help if Cole needed anyone, not that she was sure she could help. Physical strength wasn't her strong suit. Besides, it looked like Cole wouldn't be needing her assistance. Her eyes grew wider as she watched him dodge punches and shove someone who looked twice his side across the table. Wow. He was strong. Strong and good. He was like an actual high school hero! Anger rippled at her from the empathy link. She could feel the anger of a jock about to rush forward and punch Cole, and the one who had been shoved across the table. Good. Be angry. See what it's like to be humiliated in front of everything. Cole, on the other hand, was stone cold calm. At least, she thought he was. Wait.. there was something missing. Her gaze fixated on Cole's face. He looked angry, but she wasn't getting anything from her empathy off of him. Why was that? She could sense the anger of everyone else.... She'd have to save that question for later. Security guards were rushing in to grab the offending kids. Cole included. "W-w-wait!" Naomi stammered to a passing guard. "Cole didn't do anything! He was defending himself!" The guard ignored her, taking away the kids. Just like that, she was standing there alone, with only the cheerleaders nearby. "What are you staring at freak?" One of them snapped the one who Cole had called out. The one who he had seen tripping Kloe at lunch. She was angry. Probably because she knew Cole was right. Naomi might not have seen the cheerleaders perform yet, but she was willing to believe Cole on that topic. Pulling herself together, Naomi gave the girl a glare. She was hoping it'd come across as fierce, but she doubt it did. "You." She hissed, turning away and walking back to her table. She could feel their gazes bearing down into her. Oh, they didn't know what they had coming. She'd get a wish from them. that was certain. Maybe she could trick Cole into making a wish like she had with Jason. They obviously deserved it. She sat, her back straight, her shoulders pulled back confidently. There would be no bullying here. No sir, not in her school. The rest of study hall went by without a problem. The librarian sneered at the kids, her fingers twitching on the phone just in case any other kid tried to pull something. Â Naomi worked silently, writing out plans to tournament each bully she'd seen today. Homework could wait, there was justice to be had. Finally, the bell rang. Naomi got to her feet, shoving everything back into her bag. The cheerleaders passed her, making sure to jostle her as they left, despite the ample room they had to go around her. Naomi scowled, displeased by their existence. She'd just finished zipping up her backpack when she noticed Cole's stuff was still at the table. No one had come to collect it. She considered giving his backpack to the librarian, but sh didn't trust her not go through it in search of "bombs" or something. Seriously, how long could she keep her face scrunched up like that? No, she'd just take it to the office herself. Naomi grabbed Cole's backpack and headed towards the office. Naomi was rounding the corner to go to the office when she saw Cole leaving. "Cole!" She called out, stumbling forward, his backpack outstretched to him. "Cole, that was so cool." She couldn't keep the excitement down. "I've never seen someone stand up to bullies like that. The world needs more people like that. Are you in trouble?" She glanced from the office door back to him. "They know it's not your fault right? You were just doing what anyone should. You're a hero of the school. Where did you learn to fight like that? They had nothing on you?" Naomi swallowed, realizing that she was really going overboard with the compliments. "Anyway, I brought your stuff. I didn't want to just leave it in the library." She paused, and then finally added. "Don't you wish that all bullies would just disappear? Or something..."
Isnât that the truth.
Europe has always been different from here.
Have you been?
Itâs really not that bad. Really.
Well, as interesting as that sounds, it still wasnât a turtle. Or tortoise. Or any other sort of shelled creature.
Okay. Got it. Not a shelled creature. Are you sure it didnât carry rabies? Did you get a rabies shot?
Oh yes! It has an excellent library actually!
Maybe Iâll look into it. Thaks!
That just sounds practical to me.
Itâs very practical. Which is what makes it great. Plus it must be fun to say âHey guys, Iâm going to use the Very Large Telescope today.â
Oh my gosh my brother actually told me about that, apparently theyâre building an Extremely Large Telescope too!
Yeah! Their naming system is ideal. Very Large Telescope and Extremely Large Telescope really just gets right to it. No confusion of what they are there. I canât wait to see what Extremely Large Telescope discovers.Â
My favorite thing about the European Southern Observatory is they made a very large telescope and then proceeded to call it Very Large Telescope (VLT).
