Rossi (11):

Mostly deaf Rhodesian Ridgeback mix

Retired service dog, trained for psychiatric alert and response and basic navigation. She also picked up some medical alert behaviors on her own but only likes to perform those on her own terms lol. Now she still loves hiking, obedience work, coming to work with me occasionally, and she's an excellent ratter (minus the fact that she's way too big to fit in small spaces).

Bella (4):

Mostly blind field line Labrador with a little bit of extra spice

At home service dog for a close friend who I have on a co-own contract (has been washed from public access due to cataracts and arousal issues). She does a wide variety of tasks for her people and has become a great field and tracking dog when she's with me. She excels at her work and does so with no shortage of enthusiasm and chaos.

I think something more people should consider is that you can continue an animal's legacy without their legacy actually being related to them

A legacy's about leaving a lasting impact, not necessarily about blood relation

And I do understand deeply the things that can be passed down through lineage, it is a very special thing to see clear signs of an older or deceased pet presenting in members further down their lineage (whether appearance or temperament wise)

But there's far more that goes into a legacy than just lineage

Oh no people who see me in public with bella absolutely think I'm some carefree idiot and not a professional dog trainer and manager of an animal hospital with the way I let her act

The "adventures" album is becoming more and more saturated with Bella and it's had me in a chokehold all week because we've worked so incredibly hard to get to this point

But that also comes with the inevitability that it's less and less saturated with Rossi

Because that's the way time and growth works

Owner to me: No. Nothing.

Vet to owner: since she's going to the groomer soon, is she up to date on her flea and tick meds?

Looking to rehome peafowl

Not mine! A friend of mine, the guy who took Bumblebee/Felix home last year, is needing a place to rehome his peafowl due to a major life circumstance change incoming. He has one mature pair of blues (Ferdinand and Isabelle), and then Felix and likely one of his two yearling girlfriends (Liberty or Bell). He's located in Wisconsin, but we would both be willing to work on transport to pretty much anywhere in the USA to get them placed.

This isn't necessarily an urgent, immediate need, so if you were to, say, need time to build an enclosure, we can work it out. The birds themselves are free to a good home, with the only stipulations being Ferdinand and Isabella must go and stay together. I will be making sure they end up placed somewhere that's set up for them already, preferably where the pairs can stay together.

Got new tugs/bumpers for Bella so obviously Rossi needs to check em out before Bell even gets to see them

They also had the Chew King treaters (basically a kong dupe) on a BOGO sale so snatched them up for the girls along with a new one of Stella's favorite rings since I let Goose (boarder) wreak havoc on her chews over the weekend

The Angel tug is a great size upon first inspection and I love the reflective handles (hopefully i won't be able to loose this one in a bush 🫣)

Also LOVE the Viper tugs, I've borrowed a couple and they're nice but especially love the grippy handles. I also just really wanted a pink tug and thought the 8" mini tug was adorable
