Laurent is so sweetly straightforward when he decides to be honest. He can talk circles around political opponents all day, but when he's being sincere or vulnerable there's nothing complicated about the way he speaks.

Damen wears his heart on his sleeve all the time, so it's easier for him to say sappy romantic things like "If I gave you my heart, I think you would treat it tenderly" or "I've never felt like this with anyone." But Laurent takes a more simple approach because he's so uncomfortable with expressing himself at all. What he says in return to Damen's love confession is just, very simply, "I know who you are," and calls him by his real name, facing the truth of their relationship.

I am coming to know you. You're very attractive. I can't think. When you kissed me, I liked it. You can tell he's not used to saying these things but he's trying anyway. It's like his way of saying "I trust you."
